Tokyo city is full of shopping malls and center.
Some of the shopping malls have an interesting history and the architect itself is truly great from an aesthetic point of view.

This one used to be an old train station and changed to a charming shopping center.
If you take a tour inside of it you’ll see a small space where it displays the pictures of its old looks. It says the old train station was built in 1912. It’s just amazing to see the idea that the old thing coexist with the modern one at the same time.

Amazing shopping mall. Loved this location, the architecture, the design. Will be back.

Top recommendview point at Akihabara. it locates next to Manseibashi bridge. You can go up to the old Manseibashi station platform by1935 stais. The chuo rapid train passes just your side. There is cafe restaurant on the platform

Renovations nicely done. Unique shops and nice views. Glad to see Tokyo incorporating new into the old.

A must see when in Tokyo if you like Danish design and art and music and architecture a brilliant building

Nice surprise next to Akihabara. Shops, restaurant, bar, river.

We remember when this was the train museum. Bringing the kids long ago to see Thomas and Friends. Now it is more fun for adults with a craft brewery with a damn nice drop, even one with 8% alcohol. Good alternative to the monotonous maidcafe options on the other side of the river. Seems some staff are functionally bilingual and English menu also available. Taster Set for ¥980 a good starter. Nibbles better than izakaya. We will be back.. 🤗😎

Its an innocent looking building but when you enter inside, the ambiance is just different and I love it! Its a refurbished train station turned shopping mall. There is a restaurant above the mall directly besides a activate train tracks. Check it out when you pass by Akihabara

Really funky shopping/eating area along the water. We ate at Hitachino Nest Brewery(excellent) and afterwards wandered down through the complex. Variety of stores in a very modern industrial space. I remember seeing a couple stores selling local artisan products, clothing stores, another restaurant and a motorcycle sales dealer.

A great place to appreciate Japanese railroad history and do some chic shopping at the same time. If you get tired of the hustle and bustle of Akiba you can take time off here. Also a premium spot for train spotting. The old Manseibashi station platform has been transformed into a cafe/restaurant.

Stopped here to grab drinks at the Hitachino Lab, there's tons of outdoor seating along the river and inside there's a beautiful artisan shopping mall and a public restroom

Nice place to rest for a while. Old platform of station. You can see the train which came and gone in beside of you. Wonderful place!!

Renovated small shopping mall. Based on the remain of Mamseibasi station and brick railroad viaduct constructed in 1912.

We found out about this restaurant on Discovery Channel the shinkansen. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly.
