Definitely a hidden gem 💎 . This is a unique shopping street located beneath the railway tracks between Akihabara and Okachimachi Stations. There are many art and fashion design shops best for art lovers. A great place to explore unique Japanese-made design items.

Want to see something most tourists miss? Check out 2k540 Aki Oka artisan alley under the train tracks for unique souvenirs made by local artists.

It’s this really cool atmospheric place that has all of these new hip artisan shops in like a maze of beautiful tunnels under the train tracks.

This is a delightful find! A great variety of vendors with unique, quality goods. Unlike any other shopping experience we've encountered in the city thus far. The setting beneath the train tracks is unexpectedly charming. We went in about 6 shops and spent an hour all told. Could have easily stayed longer if we'd had the time.

This is a unique space in Tokyo. A former carpark converted into a creative space full of independent shops selling unique designs, art, and crafts. There is also an excellent café. It is certainly one of the spots to visit in Tokyo

Nice quaint place for arts and crafts in a nicely refurbished area. If you are looking for souvenirs to really cherish at home or gifts that won't get dumped in a closet somewhere, this is the place. The experience is nice because you are not sensory overloaded by huge crowds, flashy screens, flickering lights and a jumble hyperkenetic sound effects to grab your attention.

We found this place on our way to Akihabara from Taito. It was actually rows of shops selling very interesting local products. It was even more interesting bcoz these shops were actually situated under a flyover. If you are looking for locally made souvenirs, this is the place to go. Expensive though. Cafe n toilet available.

Very cool spot under the train tracks. Would recommend stopping by and grabbing a coffee at Yanaka coffee to sip on!

Very nice place which is very cozy and calm in spite of its location in the heart of crazy Akihabara! You will find many craft shops, cafe with Hammocks and best pancakes and even can take part in their numerous workshops!

Small market sporting a wide variety of locally made products, ranging from clothes to wooden utensils. Also, neat small coffee shop. Definitely worth a visit for people with an interest into seeing a more hipster side of Tokyo.

(Also, there are toilets with a waste basket. That may seem like small details, but if you are a tourist, chances are you've been looking for both for the last hour and a half.)

A chill shopping vibe with no hustle and bustle. Loads of local artisan type shops that sell things from toys, leatherware, wooden accessories, umbrellas and more. Worth the visit and expect to spend an hour or more if you like coffee. There are small boutique type eateries and coffee shops to check out.

Wow! What a lovely hidden gem in Tokyo. Art and hand crafted unique works from local workers. We had a nice time calmly strolling the premises looking at the true hand crafted care that went into each piece of merchandise. From hats to bags and shoes, gifts and boutique offerings; it’s a nice little place to spend an hour or two depending how you pace yourself.

"Artisans 'Я Us" (and quite good too!)
It's a collection of japanese "artisan" stores from around the country - pottery, fabrics, clothes, shoes, "stuff from nagano", whatever. It's mostly (or all!) really quite good, and is, in typical Japanese style, an excellent use of the space under the train lines up near Akihabara.
There is a quite good restaurant/cafe/wine-bar up by the Umaou store too (go check the store out. fun!), where you can happily while away a few hours over a bottle of Umaou-branded wine :-)
All in all, an excellent place to visit - check it out!!!

Spend all your money buying nice crafts. Lots of leather bags, purses, and wallets. Wooden and ceramic goods too. Some clothes, cloth, jewelry, and even a shop selling cat themed odds and ends.

Good for souvenirs, like a collar for my cat.
