BAR URUSHI

A small bar close to Ebisu Station with about 14 seats. The best part about the place was the atmosphere. There was a large selection of whiskies, and not just from Japan. The bartenders kept it classy, always. They start you off with some broth, and accompany the drinks with water as desired. A great place to drop in. No reservation required.

What a fine hidden gem. Four of us went in after dinner one night without any reservations and thankfully we were early. The menu was super interesting for us as we love fruits and Japanese sweets like red beans, roasted soybean, etc. We ended up staying much longer than anticipated and ordered 3-4 cocktails each, pretty much the whole menu that night. Cocktails were well made, not much on fancy presentation but the flavour was spot on and whatever the fruit/sweet flavour it was, it delivered, we could taste it. If you’re not a cocktail person, they had a decent range of whisky too. But we were hooked on the cocktails. Definitely worth visiting. Only downside is we saw ash trays inside, luckily no one smoked when we were there.

Honestly, one of the best bars in Tokyo. Been coming here for years. For quiet atmosphere, quality, cool bar tenders, you can't beat it. If you are into whiskey, there is nowhere better. They also are masters of all kinds of cocktails with fresh fruit. The master speaks excellent english and is such an awesome guy. Couldn't recommend Urushi more highly. Always a highlight, and a reason we keep coming back to Tokyo.

Loved this cozy little bar and its owner "Taka Taka". Went to try some Japanese whiskey and he was so helpful and nice. We got to talking with him and turns out he is an award winning mixologist. We tried his latest award winning cocktail and it was awesome! Very cool guy who obviously is passionate about his work. Really enjoyed chatting with him (he speaks English pretty well) and loved the vibe of the place overall.

My partner and I stopped in here after a nice dinner and wanted to end our night here. It did not disappoint. The owner, Taka, was so friendly and knowledgeable about whiskey, especially the Japanese variety. The bar itself is very cozy and intimate, and is tucked away from the Main Street. The selection of whiskey was impressive, particularly Japanese whiskey, and there was even some Japanese gin options as well. We had such a great time talking to Taka about Japanese gin and whiskey and would highly recommend this bar to anyone who wants a unique, authentic, Japanese whiskey experience.

As a newbie to Japanese whiskey the owner was extremely helpful in reccomending both cocktails and neat whiskey to try. This is a must visit if you have an evening in Tokyo. The bar had a great speakeasy vibe and extremely friendly staff.

The barkeep was very accommodating and helped us through a good variety of Japanese Whiskey! He told us that they mostly serve locals but we never felt ostracized!

Best botanical cocktail bar in Tokyo. Ask bartender for seasonal recommendation. Basically fruits are highly recommended but pumpkin is their specialty which is good for finisher.

Excellent tiny bar on 2nd floor with a truly impressive whiskey collection. Friendly and helpful staff/owner and delicious cocktails.

海外から遊びに来ていた友達が日本のカクテルバーに行きたいというのでGoogleマップで探したこちらへ

1人2、3杯ほど飲んで5000円〜6000円ぐらいでした。
ウイスキーの種類も多く、カクテルも面白いものがあったので友人も喜んでいました。

マスターもバーテンダーさんも話しやすい方で一人で行きましたが、とても充実した時間を過ごせました！
カクテルもきなこや小豆など変わった味のものもあり、ウイスキーはイメージを伝えたところピッタリのものを出してくれました。話だけでなく、きちんとお酒を楽しめるバーだと思います。何度も通いたくなる雰囲気です☺

ウイスキーの基礎から教えて頂き、ウイスキーの深さ、広がりを、勉強させていただきました。
マスターのお話を聞きながら、シーバスやバランタインの良さも理解出来た様な気がします。
ただ、まだまだ足りないので、また勉強に来ます！

この日は、仕事仲間と恵比寿で打ち合わせ後、バーに行こうということになり、以前から気になっていたこちらのバーに訪問。

こちらのバーは、数々のバーテンダー大会でグランプリ等の賞を受賞してきたバーテンダーがいらっしゃるとのことで、期待が高まります。

注文したのは、季節のフルーツ巨峰のカクテル、ドライマティーニ、オススメのスコッチウイスキーです。
連れの者は、季節フルーツのカクテル、ジンソニック、ギムレット。

巨峰のカクテルは、フレッシュなフルーツ感があり、絶妙な味加減に感動。

ドライマティーニもインパクトが強すぎず、まろやかで柔らかい絶妙な加減にまた感動しました。

いやー、久しぶりにいいカクテルを頂きました。
