The beautiful chaos of the local market mesmerized me as soon as I set foot in it. The vibrant colors, the hustle and bustle of the vendors, and the smell of delicious food wafting through the air created a sensory overload that was truly exhilarating. I could see why this market was a popular spot for both locals and tourists alike.

As I wandered through the market early in the morning, I noticed many people setting up their stalls and preparing for the day ahead. The sunlight was just starting to filter through the rows of stalls, casting a warm glow over the market. It was the perfect time to take photos and capture the lively atmosphere of the place.

After spending some time clicking away, I decided to come back later in the day to try some of the local delicacies that were being sold by the vendors. And let me tell you, I was not disappointed. The variety of food available was mind-boggling – from savory snacks to sweet treats, there was something to please every palate.

I sampled some of the local sweets, which were a delightful mix of flavors and textures. The aroma of freshly cooked food filled the air, making my mouth water in anticipation. I also tried some local street food, which was a real treat for my taste buds. The vendors were friendly and jovial, adding to the overall festive vibe of the market.

Overall, my experience at the market was truly memorable. Whether you are a foodie looking to indulge in local cuisine or a photography enthusiast looking for the perfect shot, this market has something for everyone. I would highly recommend visiting later in the day to fully appreciate the lively atmosphere and delicious food on offer. Make sure to come hungry and with a camera in hand – you won't be disappointed.

Lively streets packed with interesting shops and eats. Very busy, at least when I was there, and certainly with a touristy flavor, but it is worth it. The temple is very nice as well. Come over, explore, and see what you find :)

Must visit place in Tokyo. Full of little shops with different kind of snacks, endless restaurant offer, cafes, vendor machines, playground, toilets and a beautiful scenery composed by temples, shrines and Japanese architecture. One thing is certain, you're not going to be alone, be ready to share this beautiful space with thousands of people.

The only place to find Japanese souvenirs. Seriously thought they would be everywhere but most shops outside this area sell more American clothes and other products.

A great selection of souvenirs available here, food stalls are mostly on the far side of the temple. Don't eat and walk. More temple souvenirs sold inside the temple. Show respect and make sure to pay 300¥ for temple entry and maintenance. Ceremony parades held on national holidays, this was on Culture Day. Recommend coming early and standing near the temple for best views.

Main street that leads up to Sensoji Shrine that has lots of vendors that sells snacks and souvenirs. One of my favorites is the one the that sells strawberry mochi. You might be able see other tourists eating it and it's the softest mochi I've had and the sweetest strawberry ever. There's other flavors too but the strawberry flavor was calling my name and almost everyone was ordering it so I had to buy it. As you can see in my photos, I personally think the night time views here are aesthetically more pleasing to the eye and camera. Just everything about the decorations they have up and the color just works better at night.

Nakamise is a traditional name given to shopping streets on the grounds of temples or shrines. The streets are lined on both sides with shops selling traditional souvenirs, snacks, and sweets. Also, you are not allowed to eat in the temples. There’s also no garbage cans in the streets. You eat near the shop and once you are done give them your garbage and they will dispose it for you.

An old-fashioned shopping street which I read dates back to the 17th century. Most shops in this street are selling souvenirs, street food and other snacks. Usually very packed/crowded, but I usually go during cooler seasons so not a problem. This street also leads to the ancient and majestic Sensoji Temple. Highly recommended to visit, sample some of the street food and of course shop for some souvenirs

It was a very nice experience shopping for souvenirs here. Unlike any other place in the world, here you feel safe and worry-free. All the merchandise hanging for sale are original, genuine and fully licensed. Affordable, too. I would highly recommend to go here for souvenir shopping.

one place where you can find many souvenirs and Japanese sweets and snacks ! the blocks seem never ending so keep going - you might find something you like so don’t be deterred by the crowd :) it’s also less crowded if you steer clear of the main streets and walk in the side alleys !

Brimming with visitors and a well-liked destination for the residents, Nakamise-dori's major streets are home to little shops offering souvenirs and sweet treats like Strawberry Daifuku Mochi. Shops start operating from around 930am. till evening. It's worth visiting as this is one of the oldest shopping malls.

Best to come during daylight, although it’s still busy and well lit after dark, only half of the shops open. Although the temple lights look nicer at night.

Nakamise-dori street is one of the oldest and most famous shopping center in Asakusa, Taito City. It’s a five-minute walk from Asakusa train station. The street stretches from the Kaminarimon Gate on the north side that leads to the Sensoji Temple. At any time and day of the week, the place is jam-packed with shoppers. The shopping center is about 250 meter and has stores lined on both sides selling all kinds of Japanese goods, clothing, toys, sweets, food and snacks, and the ever popular traditional souvenirs.. The prices are of reasonable and sellers are friendly. It is the best-ordered temple town in Japan.

The place is crowded but the ambiance is very festive. Food, sweets, and snacks are a must-try…,.yummy and delicious. Overall, it truly was a fun and enjoyable shopping experience.

Shopping street full of food stalls where you can try typical Japanese snacks. There are also souvenir, chopsticks and clothing stores.
I recommend trying the Yuzu juice and go early, as the stores close early.

Beautiful restored temple, between gate and temple is a wonderful open market with lots of unique stores. Than off every side street is even more shops, bars and market stalls. Best time to go is before 8am.

Went during the day. A beautiful and llively street with lots of food and souvenier shopping on the way towards Sensoji temple. There's a pet store that allows you to take part in a draw for 1000yen for a chance to receive a plush toy (where you definitely will get one, it's just a matter of how big the toy will be). Super worth it cause I got an adorable shibainu albeit the smallest size which isn't very small either.

I was here early in the morning, so lots of stores were still closed. Luckily, I was able to buy a cool magnet so I was happy enough. I highly recommend you to check out any souvenirs store because there are so many awesome gift for yourself of others.

This is a cool shopping district with all kinds of items and gifts to look through and purchase. All the vendors I encountered were good attitude and helpful. Very crowded as this is a tourist attraction and one of the stops for Hato Bus tours. Location right by the Buddhist temple which is convenient. Check this shopping district out when you are in the area.

Nakamise-dori is charming both during the day and during the night. During the day, it is whole treasure chests of new experiences for the first-time visitor and a welcome nostalgia to those who have visit this place time and time again.

At night, it transforms into a feast for the eyes as the once bustling street is emptied out but is replaced by pathway lights leading you to the glorious Senso-ji.

Always worth the visit!

Yes, some can say it's a bit of a tourist trap with slightly higher prices for snacks & souvenirs but luckily there is Don Q for all that before you leave lol You wouldn't want to miss out on visiting this location! It is one of Japan's oldest shopping streets which dates back to the 17th century plus the Sensoji temple gives the area such an old-school feel. Absolutely Picturesque at night, a great stroll through anytime to be honest! If you want to catch the stalls open however it seems they average 10am-5pm roughly. Asakusa in general has a lovely old-school aesthetic so roaming around the side streets is very much encouraged. Don't forget to try the local famous Ningyoyaki, delicious!
