Incredible little metal bar. I assume he’s the owner but he’s really cool and very accommodating. All drinks 666 yen. As you’d expect they play great metal and also show classic horror/gore b-movies on VHS.

The coolest bar in the area! If you love horror and grungy dive bars this is the place for you. Horror films playing on two TVs, great vibes and the bartender is really nice, plus the entire menu really is priced at 666!!

Amazingly fun bar in the Golden Gai area of Shinjuku! If you're a fan of metal music and strange horror movies, then this place is definitely for you! We arrived just as it was opening and it was full within 5 minutes, so try to get there early if you can. The bartender is friendly and really seems to enjoy his work!

My favorite bar. But becareful talking to other foreigners, given its foreinger friendly, you run into a lot of woke lefty folk.... Got told to unalive in a 'respectful debate.'

Not the fault the of the bar owner though who is absolutely amazing, you'll just run into stupid folk as you do traveling.

If you like Heavy Metal and 80s Horror, this is the bar for you

One of the best bars in Golden Gai and we were lucky to experience it.
We went to Goldman Gai at about 9pm and we could not find seating at any of the good bars. While we gave up and we’re headed back to the hotel, this bar just opened and they had seats.
In fact, it was full just 5 minutes after they opened.
The bartender was great, and the bar had a rock theme to it. With weird (in a fun way) props. All drinks were flat 800 Yen. Loved the experience.

The best bar in all of Golden Gai. The owner is absolutely wonderful. Been around for 17 odd years. Get there early on Fri and Sat as it's a small space (10 people max) that fills up quickly; once you're in you won't want to leave. Had one of the best nights of my life here, ladies don't be afraid to go alone! Also the cheapest beers in all of Golden Gai!

What an awesome little bar. I come here almost every night when I'm staying in Tokyo. Hasn't changed his prices since the first time I came in 2017. No cover charge. Friendly bartender. Great decor and always good movies playing. I would suggest to anyone visiting Golden Gai to check out this spot for sure.

Such a fun place. The server guy is so nice ! He played Chain Massacre for me lol. Drinks are so cheap and great. Quite popular among locals and visitors.

Great bar with a great Metal/Horror theme, and great music! The beer is good and the barman is very welcoming and speaks fantastic English so it's very tourist friendly!

Very good bar, was a bit shy at first cause of the crammed atmosphere but got something to drink talked a bit with the others and the owner and it was good. I could even come with a song recommendation to be queued.

If you like campy schlocky movies and metal you'll have a great time here!

My favorite bar from my trip to Tokyo. It’s a small place but the atmosphere is so much fun and the owner/bartender was great. If you like metal music and or horror movies this is a great place to grab a drink. All drinks were ¥666

Best bar I've been to in Tokyo! Great host, great people, great atmosphere and great music. If you like metal and meeting new great people, this is the place to be in Golden Gai, can't speak any higher than I already am!

I went here five years ago and then back in 2023. Nice bartender, great music, lovely vibes. No matter you are metalhead or not!!

Deathmatch in Hell was the vibiest, coolest bar that we went to in all of Tokyo. There are actually quite a few cool rock/metal bars around but none had the charm of this place. I am not particularly a horror movie fan or anything but this place was too cool not to love.

It's very small and maybe 10 people can fit in there when it's packed. Affordable drinks, no cover charge and a friendly af bartender.

I will 100% come back next time I'm in Japan and I will tell all my metalhead friends to visit!

Glad to have my shirt to remember this place forever!

Great (but tiny) Metal and Horror-themed bar, 500m from Shinjuku Station. If you’re a Heavy Metal and/or horror movie fan, then visiting this bar is a must while being in Tokyo.
Chances are high that you‘ll run into amazing people and will have great conversations.

This bar also has the best prices in the alley.

Death Match in Hell is like heaven for Metalheads and Horror lovers! Great vibe to the place with excellent drink prices on and the owner was a really top bloke.

A tiny place with 6 seats at the bar and 2 tables behind them. It gets pretty cramped but it's such a cool place! Filled top to bottom with horror memorabilia and they play metal music exclusively. Great place to meet people and have good drinks.
