Sufra Restaurant

One of my favourite places in Amman - visited twice on our trip. Excellent upscale traditional Jordanian food in a fantastic house. They have a bread oven in the restaurant. Try the olives that come on the table. Cannot recommend it enough!

Perfect in every aspect. We had the mansaf and it was delicious. Very welcoming and attentive stuff, beautiful location and atmosphere. Would come again during my next visit for sure.

We were lucky to get a table at the very last minute without any reservations. The dish of the day was Jordan’s national dish, the Mansaf (which was a comfort dish especially during winter), eggplant, grilled cheese and soup with lentils.

We loved the atmosphere and architecture, and highly recommend since the restaurant has been awarded MENA’s 50 Best Restaurants 2022, and the food was delicious and continues to be value-for-money.

Sufra is a must for visitors, I recommend to anyone who is coming to Amman. They currently have an iftar buffet with a range of choices including fish. The setting inside a beautifully restored 1930s Jabal Amman house is wonderful during cooler months, and their terrace in summer is magical. They have a special each day outside of Ramadan and generous portions plus lovely staff.

This place is incredibly beautiful. We were impressed with how many delicious vegetarian items there were to eat and we definitely found some favourites. We hadn't tried Fatté before and the one with the aubergine and the yogurt was such an incredible dish. It's almost a little like nachos, but the aubergine are cooked in such a way that will blow your mind. Wow, that was definitely a favorite dish.

We also really enjoyed the homemade bread that came with the meal. The hummus and spiced potatoes were also very delicious and we would get them again. Overall a wonderful place with very attentive wait staff and a beautiful view.

This is my first here. I came here with my family. We had a large selection of starters and main courses. The service was great, usually restaurants are overwhelmed with large numbers but they were very relaxed about it. They were very welcoming and helped us choose great food. The place is very comfortable and decorated like home. It is also very clean. I highly recommend this place to everyone. It is also child friendly.

Wonderful local food and exotic interior decorations. Good to see many celebrities came here as well.

It’s my first time here and am very happy about it. I came here with big group of family and friends. We had a big selection of starters and main courses. Service was great despite our large number, usually restaurants get overwhelmed with big numbers but they were very comfortable with that. They were very welcoming and helped us choose great dishes. The place is very cozy and home like decorated. It’s very clean as well. I highly recommend this place to everyone. It’s also kids friendly.

This place is a good recommendation for place a fansy places to enjoy tasty food, it's very clean and the staff is well trained and super kind and polite.. I tried there for the first time Rashof (traditional Jordanian soup with jameed) it taste amazing.. Really I did enjoy every piece of it. The food wasreally good cooked and tastes delicious... However I didn't like their kebbeh labaniyeh. But that's due to my personal taste and preferences.

In general the atmosphere is very nice and joyful specially in the outside setting.

One of the best restaurants in Jordan when it comes to Jordanian premium quality food. The atmosphere is as authentic as it gets starting with the look and feel of the restoration to the dress code of the the staff members. Sufra is famous for some of the most delicious Jordanian dishes, the sajyieh, fukuarat and the traditional aubergine salad to name a few.

They serve Jordanian Palestinian cuisine , food is very good and fresh , the atmosphere is authentic , outdoor courtyard shows the old Ammani houses . Prices are good .

I am Sorry, I forgot to take photos, but I want to say if you are in Amman, you MUST stop by here.. The staff is amiable; they all speak English and give their kind suggestions. The only thing they should add some photos on their menu other than that I give 6 out of 5 :))

Sufra for me is a nice intro to Amman. I may be geared towards the tourists as the prices are a bit more towards the higher end.

The food was great, staff was lovely and the ambiance was beautiful. It had all the local dishes such as mansaf and the bread was made fresh on premise. I even got to takeaway my leftovers to eat the next day and they were kind enough to give me fresh bread.

A local gem serving authentic Jordanian and Levantine cuisine in a classic setting, consistently ranked one of the best in Jordan. Sufra is situated in a lovely villa on the bustling Rainbow Street, and from the moment you walk in you feel like you’re stepping into the past - an older gentleman in vintage Jordanian military uniform warmly welcomed us with cardamom coffee while we waited for our table.

The food is faultless - it’s all traditional dishes anyone from the region would know, prepared in their ultimate form. The tabbouleh extra tangy, the lentil and aubergine dip extra creamy, the homemade pickled olives bursting with flavor. Our main of stuffed courgettes in yoghurt sauce literally tasted like home, and dessert in the form of buza (or Middle Eastern ice cream) with halva and pistachios was perfect. Service was prompt and helpful and we felt well looked after.

The only thing that bothered me - and this is sadly common in Jordan - is that the elegant main dining space is for smokers, while non-smokers were relegated to a patio outside. It’s not just Sufra and we still enjoyed ourselves, but I do wish I got to soak in more of that historic atmosphere. However, Madeline Albright came here and loved it, so who am I to disagree? Book in advance to guarantee a true Middle Eastern feast.

I loved this place while visited Jordan. I went twice. Best food, atmosphere and excellent service. I am impressed with perfect looking dishes, amazing taste and quality. I had even chance to bake in clay oven bread. 💕 Love this place. Recommend to everyone.

Very lovely place. My friend found this restaurant before our trip to Jordan but we thought that’s it a bit far away from us, however we found this restaurant during our walk and we went inside to check the place. Stuff is very friendly and welcoming, the restaurant itself beautiful with a lovely terrace. So we went to explore the city and we came back for dinner. We got a good table on the terrace. Food was good, also they serve alcohol. I will definitely recommend this restaurant.

A little gem in Amman. Excellent service, great atmosphere and really lovely food.

The decor is understated yet classic. I also loved all their serving dishes, plates etc. Their mint lemonade was a winner as was their mansaf. I would definitely go back here if I was in Amman again.
