The Duke's Diwan

Such a hidden gem! The Duke's Diwan is the second floor of an inconspicuous building in Jabal Amman that boasts so much charm and hospitality. It is equal parts museum, heritage site, and cafe. The most magical place to stop for an arabic coffee and take a moment to appreciate being in the heart of the city and taking a step back in time. It was 5 JOD for 2 coffees and 2 bottled waters. Such a great spot, and also located close to Habibah Sweets, the Street Signs Museum, and the Souk.

This is a beautiful old house with so much charm. I can highly recommend ordering a coffee and watching the bustling street below from the balcony. A real gem in the heart of the city.

A great old house in downtown amman that is a must visit for all. This is almost like a small museum with a lot of history and old decorative items..and old furniture. The staff can also offer coffee and tea if you want..so you can spend some quality time sitting there. It has 3 rooms so not a big space but really is amazing.

Definitely worth a visit. The lady working there was very helpful and kind. You even get a flyer (arabic and english) that gives you detailed information about the history of the place. Entrance is for free.

Going there is like going back in a time machine to the old life of our grandfathers.. the place shows us the beauty of architechture... it gives us hints about the style of life in that era.. you must see it at least once to feel the amazing simplicity

Amman's oldest home has become a time capsule with its doors permanently open to artists and guests. Built in 1924 by Abdul Rahman Madi in downtown amman that is a must visit. A small museum with a lot of history and old antique items. They will offer you tea or coffee and you can take photos.

Very nice place in downtown Amman, it is a very small old house that can be visited in 5 minutes or one hour depending on how you enjoy it.

This Is the oldest residence in downtown, built in 1924. It's nice to see and get to know the old architectural heritage of old Amman. Everything is left where it is .

Small and cozy, no entry fees and worth the visit if you’re in downtown ;)

We met the Duke himself and what a character he is! If you have some time free I suggest going to the dukes for tea and listening to his stories. He is a fascinating man and his building is like stepping back in time. A great little surprise!
