Airport had a good food selection and many souvenir shops. Some familiar fast food and unique sit-down restaurants. Adequate room to move around and a good amount of seating at the gates. Bright and clean. The arrival process was very smooth. Most of it was even automated. Before arriving, be sure to fill out Form C5 online. Everyone was helpful and friendly .

Really easy airport to navigate. The gift shops have a good deals because the rates are at 160$ Jamaican dollars so if you pay with local money you get the best rate since all items are priced in USD. the lines move pretty quickly and the staff are nice. Rented a car from budget and needed to add a driver last minute so all you have to do is go in person at the airport. If you need to stop the car, just keep driving around the small roundabout to not have to pay for parking lot. Easy location to get to but sometimes a 15 minute drive can easily turn into 30 minutes so go early. I almost got a ticket because I didn't know I was in a no waiting zone but luckily the officer gave me a warning since I didn't know. There is only one lounge and there is beef patties and yogurt in the buffet. Luckily we rented a car because we all had different flights for coming and going and yes I've been to this airport at least 8 times in the 3 weeks I was here. Tip for when you exit the airport, the exit is short with multiple luggage carts to use, you don't need a porter from the door to the pick up because it's literally right outside so you cab avoid using porters if you don't have much stuff and can just roll it 30 ft outside the door to the sidewalk. There are at least 3 restaurants after you exit, 1 inside and 2 outdoors. Taxis are not cheap and prices add up so plan in advance.

Sangster International Airport is the airport serving the Montego Bay Area of Jamaica. The last time I came to Jamaica was in 2018, so I was amazed and impressed by the transformation that beheld me, American airports take note of little Jamaica way of a state of the art airport that takes care of its passengers.
Let’s get my gripe out of the way, travel in, you encounter a passport machine, then another passport control point, then once baggage collected you encounter another passport check, WHY OH WHY ??
Gripe over, this airport flying out is a much better experience, lots of space, lots of newly installed shops, lots of eateries offering you the chance to live and eat Jamaican before you leave paradise Jamaica.
This is definitely an airport I don’t mind arriving early to chill relax and enjoy before the flight out, credit where credit is due

Went to Jamaica landing. There was pretty easy Was not too many people in the return to leave. It was so crowded that it was unbearable so crowded. People were everywhere leaving at the same time thousands of people.
and a small airport

Small airport, so very easy to navigate and move around without worry. Stores inside have good pricing and better then the actual surrounding areas. Pleasant wait while returning to the UK. And this airport is very close to most resorts if you are staying in montego bay. And around 30-40 mins if you are staying in negril.

Great airport in Jamaica.
Loads of shopping and a great food court has been added.
The older section is not as spacious and hopefully they will remedy that soon.
Overall very good.

I have never had any reason to complain about the timely service I have gotten at this airport. The employees where sweethearts (Relax! You’re On Vacation!) The shops inside are nice and fairly priced. My friend needed wheelchair assistance and the same young lady helped her coming and going. She so sweet. We both tipped her. Jamaica has become my home away from home. We’ll Be Back!

I’m impressed. The improvements they’ve made to immigration to make it mostly electronic are fabulous. We breezed through. All instructions were clear. The tour group pickup area is very well organized.

Airport is quite large and has beautiful lighting throughout. The drop off outside is crazy. Check in and baggage, not sure about that part of the airport as we did online check in and only carry on. There are only 19 gates for international service. Security was long, but quick. Lots of choice for food and stores to shop at. Bathrooms are easy to find, but not a lot of stalls.

Wonderful airport. I love traveling through Montego Bay, a straight flight to Germany in comfort and style. My check-in was smooth. The airport itself was clean

Nice medium-sized airport. There were no lines at bag drops and security. We used the VIP lounge where you get unlimited food and drinks ,including alcoholic drinks with your entrance fee. There's also a play area for the kids, showers, bathrooms, spa facility, and meeting rooms. Really great service and staff was excellent.

I arrived on Jan 28th around 1pm, and departed Jan 30th around 8pm, 2023.

Arrival:
-Arrival to gate after landing was fast (not huge airport)
-They had a issue with their passport computers, and there was a huge line for immigration, it was backed up to the gates, you can see in some of my pictures the lines in the hallway and customs hall. There was mass dissorganization, people were cutting lines, you follow where they tell you to go then come back 5-10 min later and move you out of the line again. They had the passport issue, but they were not great with directions and organization. There was one lady that came by to explain about the passport problem so at least we knew what the issue was. I really regret not takeing the club mobay VIP arrivals package on trip advisor. Those people (anyone can book it) get met at the gate by a worker, and taken past everyone in the lines, and into a special VIP Immigration area and fast tracked out. I wish i had booked it, i would have got me past the backlog of people.
-The luggage for my airplane was spread around the luggage room and i had to search multiple batchs of luggage to find mine.
-there is 2 exits, one to the street with taxis and cars. the other exit is to the buses and tours.
-Eventually 2 hours after landing we got out of there. They did not stamp my passport, but I got a ticket with my picture and immigration info.

Departure:
-I arrived early for departure, 5pm, checked in (they have self serve kiosks too), and went through security, there was no line.
-Went to find my gate, it was easy to find, 2 wings of departure and you start in the middle.
-Food court is limited, and was busy when i was there, but lots of seating in the court and the rest of airport. There was Dominos pizza, Quiznos subs, Wendy's burgers, and a "island deli" store that is a convinces store that also sells jamaican pattis (maybe thats why its called a deli). There was lines for all of them, but i was in no rush, i ate a wendys, spicy chicken sandwich. It was all as expected.
-There is many shops and restaurants around the terminal, a Dairy queen i had ice cream at.
-2 atms in the terminal and 1 cash exchange booth.
-lots of nice windows to see the parked planes or planes coming in from runway.
-my plane took off on time and all was great.

Overall its a nice airport, i am sure the passport computer problem is not a regular issue.
-There is also construction around the airport, they are extending the runway (bigger planes can land) and adding jet blast deflectors so jets on the south side dont knock over the buses when they turn on their engines. (currently they tow them east until they face north)

Very clean and relatively easy airport to go through. Pro tip: when you arrive to the airport for departure, tip one of the baggage handlers and they will take you with them to bypass the long lines for check-in. Also features a decent food court if you get hungry before your flight.

the arrival from my country with a change took about 14 hours, I was tired of the journey, I landed at night in beautiful Jamaica. The airport made quite an impression on me. But here you should get 5 stars because the airport employees are very helpful, polite and smiling. I have very fond memories of the arrival and departure.

Getting through customs is the worst, but that's only because there are so many tourists coming in at once, but once you're through customs, it's smooth sailing. Luggage comes through quickly, and the workers pull the bags off the turnstiles for you. There are always plenty of bag handlers to carry your bags for you, so be sure to have tip money. FYI, they prefer USD.

When you’ve been away from your favorite Starbucks you can definitely grab a drink before your flight. My first step back to reality before we hit stateside. So yummy!

Had a delayed flight for a whole day so Air Canada had to put us up for a night at the Holiday Inn in Jamaica plus they are supposed to reimburse us a $1000 each .

Wasn't as bad as what the news had been showing. It took about 30 minutes to get thru the lines on Easter, April 9th. Going back home on the 11th wasn't so bad either. Plenty of shops for souvenirs when leaving. There's a Wendys, Quiznos, Domino's Pizza, Dairy Queen, Starbucks. Just to name a few restaurants!

I'm sure there are better airports in the US (Hartsfield definitely comes to mind ) but considering Montego Bay is about the same size as my hometown Springfield IL it makes the level of our airport and airline services look sick..Esp considering we are the State Cap I've been here 8 times in the last 10 years and it's gotten better every time in every way PS re related posts everyplace is going to experience tech related service problems
