Hotel Riu Montego Bay

I just checked out today !! This resort exceeded my expectations. I had a blast. The staff was very helpful. I loved the RIU dancers they were so friendly and inviting!! The dancers made sure we got out our seats and joined in with them dancing. The front desk taxi service was very reasonably priced for round trip service . My only complaint was that the steak and Italian restaurants were always booked so we never got to go in them .. Which seems like a reoccuring issue . The buffet had a large variety of food which was pretty good !! The jerk chicken that is served by the pool was very delicious !! The party boat was worth every penny that leaves from the hotel . The excursion packages offered in the lobby was nice and convenient . I Love Jamaica !!

Lovely resort. Clean and good sized rooms, with great views, facing the pool or beach. Pool & bar area had ample lounges and was very relaxing . Had great options at meal time and evening shows, entertainment was awesome. Service was excellent. All in all, we had a wonderful time during our stay. Definitely recommend, its worth visiting. 👍

This is an adult 18+ only resort, just so you know.
Only a short drive from the airport. You get use to the planes flying over in the day. Staff are so friendly, nightly entertainment is great. A bunch of pools and a PADI certified dive shop on site. We absolutely loved it here and will be going back again. Only a 5 min walk to the shopping center and grocery store off the resort. Much cheaper places to buy snacks or souvenirs.

This resort exceeded my expectations!
Booked late October/ beginning of November and it was beautiful!
Being 10 minutes from the airport is so convenient.
The rooms are a good size and very clean, the resort is also very spacious with lots of activities.
Loved having the water slides and the free kayaks and paddle boards.
The beach was stunning with very clean water and trees for shade.
The staff was excellent! Service was 10/10
Food was very good with lots of variety!
Only cons I would say are that the door locks sometimes don’t work so you need to get them fixed by going all the way to the front desk. Also the resort is very big, if you have any mobility issues it might be a challenge. Also don’t leave the resort, night clubs aren’t safe as we were robbed in the club.
100% would return!

Gonna put this after just a week into our 2 week stay at the RIU resorts in Montego bay.

Went for a sea facing suite just for the experience and it comes with a bath in the middle of the suite so you can relax and rehydrate after time in the sunshine. There's a fully stocked bar in the suite with, beers, 4 optics of spirits and enough mixers to have a party!

The resort puts on loads of daily activities but we've gone off resort a few times to experience the true Jamaica.

Food is good and plentiful but as with all resorts you need to vary your days on and off for a true experience.

So far it's been very good

It was my first time in Jamaica and I had a great time at the resort, the hotel staff kept you entertained all the time. I spend most of my time playing volleyball, drinks are alright. I'll be looking forward to considering Riu as a resort to stay for other tropical destinations as well.

Jamaica resort right on the water. Friendly staff with amazing food selections. Multiple pools and bars. Plenty of beach chairs to just relax. This is paradise. One of the elevators was sketchy but they were working on it when we left. They is a karaoke night, beach volleyball games, swimming aerobics, beach dance parties and a night club. It's also connected two other resorts that guest can travel between.

It's very close to the airport so you get the constant noise of plains taking off😞
But otherwise everything is great, food, drinks, services and activities. There are plenty of sun chairs so no need to wake up early to save a spot. We had a great time and we hope we can come back again next December 🤞

We had a great time. The pools were great. Staff was awesome everyone was very nice and had a smile on their face! Food was alright. Not great but not bad. The entertainment was awesome. Beble was bery sweet and we had a great conversation with her. Water park was an added bonus. Would definitely go back. Very close to the airport chich was nice but a lot of noise with the planes flying over.

Highly recommend this hotel! Beautiful location, amazing staff (they all work so hard!) Exceptionally clean hotel.

Food was incredible! There was never a time we couldn't find something we enjoyed. Steak house was amazing, however our personal favourite was the Italian. Highly recommended.

This hotel has a great vibe! You can choose to be around the main swim up bar with music etc or alternatively a quieter spot around the other pools.
Always sun beds available, no matter what time of day!

The bbq at lunch time along with pepes was fab! Thoroughly enjoyed the food!

Staff always so polite and went over and beyond to make sure you had a great holiday!

We got engaged on our stay and the hotel bought us a bottle of champagne to our room.....this was such a kind gesture- thank you again!

I went in 2022 of November. So the ride from the airport was below 35 bucks and about half an hour max. The resort was clean; the room was clean. The staff was very nice and friendly. The entertainment was great, especially Karaoke, which I like personally. The guest was diverse in culture and age groups, so it was not a young people resort. However, you still have a great time. Go enjoy some of the off the resort activities. By the next day you Trina chill cause you are pooped.

Rooms are decent all with a balcony 👌🏾 but it's a party resort so don't plan on sleeping much. The club opens until 3am and I went almost every night lol. $20 from the airport if you don't reserve your free transportation. Stores are 5min away so you can shop and buy other items

Beds very uncomfortable.
Service was great at buffet, a la carte restaurants and bars. Food was fantastic. Staff very friendly.
Beach is nice with the bar. Though ocean bottom at beach is full of weeds. Doesn't bother me as I'm used to that from where I grew up.
Animation team is top notch. Loved their shows every night and the pool entertainment when I went.
Loved that there were numerous pools to choose from. I used the pool by building 5.

I loved the resort. It was really nice and clean. It is maintained very well. The rooms are big. There are a variety of restaurants on the resort. The refrigerator is fully stocked. The bathroom is very roomy. If you book to stay at this resort, I think you will be satisfied.

There is a Burger King across the street. Be AWARE, THE LOCALS ARE GOING TO SWARM YOU AS SOON AS YOU STEP ACROSS THE STREET.

We used the taxi service that's inside of the resort to get around the town. Our guy name was CHAMBERLIN, he was very good. He was on time every time he picked us up. I definitely recommend him.

Downside to the resort: they did not restock our refrigerator even after I requested them to. Secondly, my friend requested for her bag to be picked up at checkout. The tall bald headed kind of stocky guy handled their bags upon checking in and out. He was very rude and ruff. After seeing that, I moved my own luggage. And yes she tipped both times!!!

I can’t say enough things about this place! An unforgettable experience, great places to eat! Crazy fun environment! So many activities to keep you busy and the staff made you feel welcome and safe the entire time!

We stayed here for 1 week and had the best time! The resort is looks newly renovated and the food was great, but the people who work here really made our trip! Specifically, Tevoy who was so personable and always checking in with us throughout the week. We looked forward to seeing him everyday. Rollie Pollie always got the energy up and made sure everyone was getting involved and having fun at the pool. A few other people who were really great were TeeTee, Riri and all the bartenders working extremely hard at the pool bar. Rain or shine they made sure that everyone was always having a good time, and you could tell that they put a lot of thought and effort into all of the activities, and performances they planned! We really enjoyed the game show hosted by Tevoy and karaoke night.

We definitely recommend staying here if you visit Mobay! We feel like we made friends for life, that we hope to see again sometime soon!

We had an excellent trip!! Resort staff was friendly,fun and energetic!! Never a dull moment! We will be back!!

I really enjoyed everything at this hotel. The food was great. It was very tasty. I especially liked how fresh the fruit was. The room was spacious and clean. The shower had a good amount of pressure, unlike some places. There were several pools. Every night, there was some form of entertainment going on. The very gifted performers are world-class. Their charm, energy, and enthusiasm make your stay even better. Rollie-Pollie was the best. I loved her comedic personality and smile. The bartenders were spot on with the drinks. Every drink I has was just right. The taste of alcohol wasn't overwhelming. They weren't watered down or too sweet. They were perfect every time. There were mutliple pools, eateries, and bars within the hotel. The patties were so delicious. You can't go wrong with you choose. It's right on the beach, so you can enjoy the sand and water. I really loved being there. This is definitely a party spot. It's also about 5 minutes from the airport. It also has a sister hotel next door that you can go to to enjoy their events during your stay as well, I believe. I highly recommend this place. I most definitely will be returning. The only thing I didn't really enjoy was that they don't have elevators for most pf the rooms. If you get pne of the rooms closer to the water slide, the walk to dinner can be a bit long. When they ask if you want help getting bags to your room, LET THEM! Walking all the way the the last building with my bags just to find out there was no elevator was no fun at all. However, it didn't damper my trip.

Update: They fixed the fridge. I understand they must be super busy w other stuff, so it wasn't too bad. Forgive me but I can't remember everyone's names but I'll never forget Terrisha, Shauna, O'Brien in the lobby bar, and Duane ( I think?. I know it starts w a D.... Very tall skinny guy w dreads who did bingo and also was a dancer/in entertainment) Also, Javon on the beach, and all the staff,.really... I forget my guys name everyday at breakfast but he was amazing as well... Light skinned guy (maybe the only server there that light skinned..) but he took great care of me and I never had to wait...(You get what you give)
You guys and gals were AMAZING (and fun.) If you're reading this review please remember that again, You get what You give! If you're nice, they will be super nice. I honestly hope that people like Terrisha and Shauna don't go unnoticed in this hotel, as they are truly wonderful humans. Thanks everyone ♥ I hope to return again soon!! And also, a shout-out to A. Graham (security officer) for finding my phone and returning it!!! A true potential nightmare that turned out extremely lucky for me... Here now. Day 1. Called after the first 3 mins to say my fridge was hot. 9 hours later...still hot
People are nice. Buffet was good. People are nice. The peddlers are annoying but not too bad if you just wave them off... I'll update as the week goes on

My stay at Riu Hotel in Montego Bay was an unforgettable experience, largely due to the amazing food that left my taste buds delighted throughout my stay. The hotel's prime location near the airport was incredibly convenient, allowing for a hassle-free journey to and from the resort. The well-appointed room with its strategic location provided breathtaking views that enhanced the overall stay.

The entertainment options at night were top-notch, with live performances and activities that kept the energy high and the atmosphere vibrant. The on-site night club added an extra layer of excitement, offering a fantastic space to dance and socialize until the early hours of the morning. The security measures, including the gated entrance where visitors checked in, instilled a sense of safety and ensured a peaceful and enjoyable environment for all guests.

All in all, Riu Hotel Montego Bay exceeded my expectations in every aspect, making it a destination I can't wait to return to.
