Norman Manley International Airport

Nice enough airport with tame expectations.

Just want to point out im nitpicking in this review. The overall experience of landing and taking off from this airport is pretty straight forward and seamless. But for the real “tourist” feel, you’ll probably want to go to the Montego Bay airport. Be aware that it’s significantly more crowded for that same reason there.

Pros:
- Small airport, not too crowded (i went for a flight at around 3 pm)
- Staff are vigilant enough to handle most issues before needing to be called to them, like garbage pickups.
- All food options are close enough that you don’t feel like you need to walk a marathon to grab a bite before your flight, seating area with tables is a plus.
- Constant airport/flight related announcements. Keeps people on their toes (in my opinion of course)
- Staff are peppy and upbeat. They also make you feel welcomed when approaching them with a question.
- Very streamlined experience. Would rather fly here than to fly to Montego Bay as it’s not as crowded.

Cons:
- Gates area is super narrow and depressing to look at, even during sunny days.
- Weird lounge-like seating arrangements.
- Very few near-gate seats, counted about 15 per 2 gates, the rest are found around the corner and down a somewhat-long hall.
- Not many windows for even-numbered gates.
- Outside of airport isn’t too well-kept.

Overall, i recommend this airport if you’re looking for a simple place to land or take off from. It’s fills any basic need you may have in an airport, and will suit all your food needs as long as you’re not looking for a restaurant style dining experience (this is more fast-foody feel).

Not a problem. This describes well the good mood of Jamaican people and its reflected on this airport. People here are kind, professional and respectful. You can go through the inspection area without that feeling that you are considered guilty until you prove that you're innocent.
Everything is beautiful and you can take your flight safely and not stressed. Consider using the Kingston Club lounge. It cost 35 US dollars and it's less than buy a lunch and drink a beer.

Norman Manley International Airport is very organized, lots of staff to help you through the process. When you arrive you are greeted and advised to stay away from mosquitoes. You then wait to collect your luggage and move on to customs; very easy if you completed your free C5 form online. Kiosks are available very easy once you completed your form online you scan your passport, take a picture, and a receipt is printed and you go to a customs officer verify your info and off you go to enjoy your vacation.

A very beautiful feeling as the aeroplane touched down on the Tarmac.
Passengers echoed a shout of praise and the clapping of hands, giving thanks to God and the flight crew for a safe flight from the J.F.K Airport, USA to the Norman Manley Airport, Jamaica.
The experience was great. The service offered by the Immigration Officers and other staffers was reasonable efficient. They were courteous, pleasant and supportive. It was the classical display of the Jamaican good mannerism. Also, it was a Happy Return Home safely after over two years of absence.
And of course, thank God, Covid-19 was no wear to be found!

Check in was easy, security lines short but waiting inside the terminal was hot. There were several fans to help cool down the place, but it was still hot. However there were lots of seats and my little guy enjoyed watching the runway for landing and take-off.

My experience was good. There was free wifi, so I could go online on my phone. The airport was very clean. The staff was friendly. The food options were wonderful. The bathrooms were very clean. I usually fly into Montego Bay. Flying into Kingston this time was a wonderful experience. I appreciated the artwork by students and professionals and the sculptures.

Custom service was a breeze! I was able to use the kiosk which I never get to do at MBJ. The agents were very efficient, the baggage claim was speedy, the whole team I came in contact with were very warm. I'll definitely fly through this port again.

On January 3rd I was so impressed by this very young man mr Smith who does wheel chair assistance.
He was so courteous respectful and helpful.
He is indeed a gem to the airport, and wants his superior to know they made a great selection when hiring him.

Relaxed airport could be better organized but mi na di boss still very nice and easy to go through if you do the C5 before you land🤣

Way better airport experience than ultra busy, crowded Mo'Bay. And beautiful art displays featuring student art.

So in 2022 I visited UK via Norman Manley. Customer Service was excellent and even though the flight was delayed we were kept updated throughout the wait time. Awesome service!

Easy access and accurate check-in, no waiting. Plus the duty free stores great... polite and helpful staffs...

A great airport experience. The staff is very friendly and the lines for security and immigration moved quickly and effectively. There are lots of restaurants and shops and the Club Kingston lounge was amazing!
Some airports around the world it seems like everyone woke up on the wrong side of the bed, not the case here! Can't wait to visit again:)
