Both the beauty and scale of the Venetian Arsenal is amazing. The bridge between the two towers with the canal below is iconic Venice. Wonderful place to visit in the early morning before many people are out. I visited just before sunrise.

Very beautiful sight. The lions are Ancient Greek plundered from Piraeus. Unfortunately it’s a military zone as well and you can’t enter it.

We didn’t visit the exhibition, but it was worth wandering around this historical shipyard that used to be the heart of maritime warfare. It used to build one ship a day during the peak era of Venice’s naval powers!

Fortunately there were no exhibitions on at the time as it was 3 weeks prior to one being setup. We walked straight through, they ask for nothing but you can leave a small donation if you wish. Had to walk around the yard and see the well known sites. Due to it not being open at the time we could not look inside some of the warehouses nor walk around the whole yard but was still worth the trip!

Although we didn’t visit the exhibition, wandering around this historical site was an experience in itself. This was where warships were produced (one per day) and launched into sea during the height of Venetian’s maritime power.

A place of power in the old Venetian republic. A shipyard where army and merchant ships were constructed.

I wouldn’t trade a visit to this place over some other national museum or historical building. It is in good shape and well preserved but not really much to do or see.

You might remember this place if you played assassins creed game. And most of the other locations in Venice for that matter.

Absolutely stunning! The Arsenale di Venezia is a must-visit in Venice. The historical naval complex is breathtaking, with its grand architecture and fascinating exhibitions. A true testament to Venetian maritime heritage. Don't miss it!

I would suggest you to get the 2-3 day community boat rides to explore the whole Venice.

It is not a popular spot in Venice for taking pictures but it led us to some very quiet spots along the canals for uninterrupted views. My recommendation is to go through the small alleys and see where you end up. It can be quiet rewarding as long as you have places saved on Google maps for easier navigation.

Although it is located off the most touristy path, it's a must see if you're into military history and want to know more about the ancient Venetian Navy. I visited the Yacht Show in June and had the opportunity to see also the beautiful brick warehouses and former barracks.

Maybe it was because we did not go inside whatever the arsenal was but I do not know what is so great about this place. That being said I am still giving it five stars because even not so great in Venice deserves five stars. It’s a neat spot to check out and you should do so if you have time, and explore the alleyways.

Off the touristy path is this amazing historical building. Closed to the public for the most part, it’s still a great place to stop by and imagine what it was like during the height of the empire.

A espetacular place, very quiet as not so many people were around. Great to seat and contemplate the birds and the view

Arsenal grately contributed to my perception of Venice.
Significance of adaptations of life on water, and architectural adaptation of historical buildings to contemporary conference demands and multimedial display left me in instant awe.

The gate is interesting. Look up the history on the lions located at the gate, fascinating. Can be hot walk down from St Mark's Square, but comfortable in the morning. Good lunch spot located at the gate after you cross the bridge. History bluffs will enjoy.

Really cool place off the normal touristy paths.

Unfortunately since it's being actively used you can't really see much inside, however walking around the perimeter and soaking in the views of it are worth the visit.
