Highly highly recommend this restaurant! The food was exquisite. Each dish had so much flavor and was incredibly unique. The stuffed mushrooms were phenomenal, beef cheek was as soft as butter and exploding with flavor, and the vegetable lasagna was so creamy and delicious. Service was also amazing. You need to try this restaurant! Make sure to book a table days in advance because they book up quickly.

Wow. What an incredible restaurant. The food, wine, and service were superb. A truly memorable experience. Very relaxed atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Food was amazing with plenty of gluten-free options for a coeliac. Reasonably priced, too. Make sure you book well in advance!

Listen, this place is amazing!!! We are absolute foodies, we carefully pick each restaurant during our holidays - and this one (I empathise with many of the other comments) is a gem.

The food accentuates the natural flavours of simple and humble ingredients - which is the way Italian cuisine shaped so much the food in general. Fresh ingredients, fast service, depth of flavour and great views of the canal with gondolas passing by.

Would 1000% come back again. The value for money is also excellent, but for this type of food I would consider paying even more:)

House wine is also very good - we’ve had the red one and it was nice.

If you get the chance to get the asparagus with the mimosa sauce, please do. Very good! Same for the gratin cauliflower, tagliatelle with artichokes and pecorino fondue & pasta al forno with aubergine. What a dream! Thinking of the next time coming here already.

Keep on going! Thank you for this experience!

This is my favourite place I’ve eaten at in Venice. I’ve been to Venice a number of times and this restaurant came recommended from someone who lived there. The food was delicious and they take pride in quality produce. The service was very fast and the price was excellent for what you receive. I left completely stuffed. The pumpkin lasagne was an absolute highlight! I wasn’t crazy about the house wine but when I return, I won’t buy the cheap option. No doubt I’ll be returning to La Zucca when I visit Venice again.

Great for allergies (peanuts, cashews, pistachios, and sesame seeds). Food was awesome. We had our hotel make the reservation for us. House wine was very good as well!

The only decent meal we had in Venice. The food, atmosphere and service were great! Don’t miss the lentil side dish.

100% would recommend!
We arrived in Venice a few days ago and booked this place for dinner as soon as we did because I'd read the reviews that booking was essential. We are very glad we did this because people were being turned away and all tables were reserved for multiple sittings.
The menu is not translated well in all honestly but the waitress was extremely helpful and good translate worked a treat!
We had two mains, which were delicious and a side to share. We asked for extra bread, which came at no extra cost.
There is a service charge of €3 per person which is added to the bill but it states this on the menu so you are aware.
We finished our meal with the most delicious panacotta and tiramusu that we've ever had and we're totally thrilled with our choices. We didn't take a picture of the dessert because we ate that straight away!

We were walking around Venice looking for a none tourist type place and stumbled on La Zucca. We certainly got it right. What a great meal and kind staff. The lasagna and whatever my wife had 😀 were incredible. I would put this on your list when in Venice.

This little restaurant is a find - superb quality of food, extremely nice staff, great atmosphere! Don‘t expect to get a table without prior reservation - check out the homepage for info on that!
We‘ll be sure to return when we‘re in Venice again!

Really liked this restaurant. Slightly different dishes from the typical Venetian cuisine. I felt like there was some focus on vegetarian dishes, which is great.

I had the artichoke flan and the pumpkin lasagne (zucca means pumpkin btw). The flan was delicious, especially when the bite contained more than just artichoke. It would benefit from perhaps more of something that pairs well with artichoke. The pumpkin lasagne was perfect, except for the extra olive oil drizzle, which I found to be a bit generous. It had some smoked provola and artichoke as well. The smoked provola with the pumpkin was interesting and delicious. Really loved the taste. The texture was pretty much like a normal lasagne, but the heartiness comes from the pumpkins.

The service was also good. Recommend this restaurant for sure!

Excellent restaurant if you're vegetarian
Gets busy though
Small intimate place with bags of character as you'd expect being in Venice
Hidden away but not too difficult to find
My hotel recommended going at lunch rather than in the evening, so I went there about 13:30.
Got a table relatively quick
Food is very good, I just opted for lasagna.
Really good service, and staff helpful if your Italian isn't too great

Went to restaurant again (6th February 2024) again about half 1 during lunch service. The staff here are still very friendly and accommodating, managed to get a table without pre-booking.

The food here is still excellent, the staff were very helpful advising on the menu. A menu translation is offered too, so you can have a rough idea of what to order

It's our first time in Venice and today is our third day. We had the best food here and were entertained by knowledgeable, elegant waiters who did their job very well. Thank you very much.

Absolutely fantastic in many ways. If you are a true food lover and not just looking for the standards you know, don't think twice. Go eat at La Zucca.

Yes, the menu is in Italian. You are in Italy!

The staff members were very lovely and helpful, making us feel welcome. The atmosphere is unique, with its motif of many pumpkins and squash. Relaxing and understated.

The food is just gorgeous. We started with artichoke covered in a parmesan fondue. Delicious balance of vegetal flavor with the rich sauce. Moving into pasta, the duck ragu was deceptively light - I've never had such a ragu. The rich lasagna with radicchio and taleggio was unlike anything I've had, and followed by a bite of cipolline onion...heaven. The tiramisu was devoured shortly after.

I only hope they have space for me when I go back.

Top 3 restaurant during our 2 week trip through north Italy (and there were a lot of them).

Super nice location next to a canal with limited outdoor seating. We were lucky enough to get an outside table even though we didn’t have a reservation. I’d recommend to book though as the place is very popular.

As a starter we ordered apricots filled with goat cheese which was amazing! As a main course we had the ragou pasta which tasted amazing as well. As a desert we chose the ricotta which was surprisingly rich in flavor and a perfect way to end an amazing dinner.

The service was friendly and very professional. I’d definitely come back and recommend to friends visiting Venice!

There is a reason why this restaurant is difficult to book because their food and service are just top notch. All of the servers speak English well and the dishes we had were well cooked and tasted great. Many vegetarian choice and food planned seasonally. Highly recommended.

The dinner at this place was amazing to say the least. The staff was great. Had amazing wine recommendations. Coming to food, everything was super flavorful. Such delicate, balanced flavors. The pasta, lasagnas, the fennel appetizer, all of it was amazing. Totally recommend this place. Also, exploring Venice after dinner was one the best decisions we made. With happy tummy and non existent crowd, Venice was a beauty at night! We had the entire piazza San Marco with all the lightings to ourselves 😁

Best meal I had in Italy. Freshest, most beautiful food and great wine. Many vegan options, just ask the staff. Loved everything, something different from pizza and pasta. Sad we couldn’t return as they were booked out!! Next time!!

Absolute gem. Staff was absolutely wonderful and the food was perfect. We had the burritina, tagliatelli, spinach lasagna. Fair warning the portions are quite large so order accordingly. As well, make sure to order the pistachio & chocolate semi frozen for desert. They were all absolutely perfect. I'll definitely be returning.

Can't fault it. Great location, friendly service and a real focus on amazing fresh food.
The best food we've eaten in Venice!

Note the menu changes daily based on what produce is best on that particular day. As a result they don't post their menu but I've attached some pictures of the menu we had to give an idea of the food and price range (you may need to translate the menu - although they provide a handy key words translations guide with the menu).

Situated in a fairly quiet area, La Zucca is the best blend of Venetian culture. The views are great if you eat outside, but inside is also nicely designed.

Each dish we had we really enjoyed. We opted for an Artichoke with cheese sauce starter which was delicious. For mains a Pasta Al Forno and Lasagna Al Forno. Both tasted really good and the Lasagna could be one of the best vegetarian lasagnas we've ever had.

This place is absolutely perfect for vegetarians as most options are suitable (although maybe not for vegans as dairy products are often used).

It isn't always easy to find really good food in Venice, but this one is a must visit if you get a chance!

I'd ignore the bad reviews on here. Yes Staff may be a little blunt at times but for our visit staff were friendly and helpful. Understandably for a very small restaurant it's not always easy to book for larger groups and I can imagine they find it difficult to accommodate last minute visits.

It books up early so visit ideally days in advance to book for dinner. Lunch slots are a little easier to find but still worth booking in advance.

To clarify the restaurant is not a Michelin starred restaurant, but is a Michelin recommended restaurant (i.e. recommended by the Michelin organisation but not given a star).

Worth a visit!

We were lucky enough to walk up and get a spot for lunch. This was our best meal in Venice. I will forever be dreaming of their food!!! It was recommended to us by a friend and I will now be passing on the recommendation!! The staff was also very lovely. Just an overall amazing experience! Don’t miss this place while you are in Venice.
