Washing machine and dryer in very good and clean condition. We were able to get coins and detergent from the shop next door, the staff are very helpful and friendly. 800 Isk for a wash depending on settings ours took 37 mins and 100 Isk per 5 min drying. Good little town to walk around with a supermarket whilst waiting.

The washing machine and the dryer are very clean. You need coins (100isk) to turn it on but the shop next door can either change them or let you pay by card. We paid 700isk for one washing and 500isk for about 50 minutes drying. I’d recommend doing your laundry here as you can walk around and see some really amazing nature while waiting for it to finish.

Functional and practical washing machine and dryer for people on the run. Don't forget your detergent!

The location is ideal: next to the famous Kirkjufell, and especially a few blocks from the delicious café "Græna kompaníið", where you can enjoy a good brownie while waiting for your laundry to be ready!

This is probably only one self-service laundry machine in west Iceland. Someone should expands service like this to all Iceland.
This is what I figure out on how to use it.
For washing machine, all 3 partitions on top of the machine are all for laundry powders, which is also provided here for free. Follow the figures associated with each program on how much you should pour in each partition. A normal washing program takes 800 to 1000 KRs.
For dryer, load your coins until the panel shows the time (estimated) you want, then press the green start button. You can also change the temperature setting before drying program starts. I throw 600 KRs and it dries for 45 mins.
Also, the machines take 100 Kr coin only. So get your coins ready in advance. After usage, close the door of the cabin and make sure you lock it with the wedge.

There is one washing machine and one dryer. You can get coins from the shop next door. The machines were clean, fast and worked well.

I don't know if the washing machine works (some people complained about it) but I can assure you that the dryer just saved my day :D

La machine a laver qu'il me manquait. Il faut des pièces de 100kr que j'ai prises au supermarché.super ballade aussi dans le village. Belle vue. Attention le sèche linge est un peu lent

Werkt prima, je hebt wel veel 100 kronen munten nodig. Geen mogelijkheid om met pin of creditcard te betalen.

One washer and one dryer but both were clean. 800 ISK for the washer and 100 ISK for 7.5 minutes on the dryer. “Open 24 hours” if YOU have coins and soap otherwise market next door will sell to you during business hours.

The next shop is responsible of these machines. We asked our 200 kr. back and could get back it with really unfriendly attitude. The washing machine was brocken, it was planed 45 mins program but it ran over the 100 mins just rinsing our clothes. We didn't touch anything and change any program. Cause during the washing time(45mins), we had been in café. We kindly asked that they can help us. The answer was we put too many clothes(there was enough space inside) and we changed the program. All we could was just waiting them. after 30mins the owner came.
Evenif you are urgent, i don't recommend.

Just tried to use the washing machine today (December 30th, 2022). It seems to work, I was able to select a program, put in 800 kr. and startet the machine. After returning half an hour later, all clothing was still dry.
I looked around, but didn't find any sign posting "out of Order" or similar.

The washing machine did not work, and I was unable to get the clothes out! Cycle did not end and door would not open!!! Very upset…

It’s open, but unfortunately the washing machine is broken at the moment. The tumble dryer seem to be fine.
