It was very scenic and beautiful. The weather changed so quickly in the middle of December. One minute, it was sunny; the next minute, it was snowing. It was freezing cold. I was very happy that I was able to capture a few photos.

Absolutely beautiful waterfall in the winter! You have to pay for parking, but the view is absolutely beautiful. There is a cute little bridge over the waterfall and a path leading down to the base of the waterfall. Just realize that there will be so many photographers there at any point of the day since this spot is so famous.

We had an hour walk with kids from the city to get to the waterfall. The weather was sunny and pleasant. Once you arrive the view is amazing. Waterfall has two levels and you can walk down to see it better. No handrails. Watch your steps.

A beautiful waterfall with a stunning backdrop. Even though this location is becoming more and more popular each day, definitely take your time to view the falls. Walk all the way down to get some incredible shots of the two sets of falls with Kirkjufell in the background. You'll need to pay for parking if you are self-driving.

Apparently this was in game of thrones? Haha since I haven’t seen it, I cannot comment on that. But strictly from the views it would be worth the trip or stop here! Highly recommend you adding it to your list! It definitely did get pretty crowded. But worth it!

Very well known waterfall for its amazing photo spot with the mountain behind it. There is a small path to go down so you will end up in front of the waterfall for some more lovely pictures. It is often crowded so be patient to get the right spot for your photo. I was there in septembre with the red colours of the landscape. There is an easy parking which you need to pay to park, not too expensive.

Amazing place, For the past few years, Mt. Kirkjufell and Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall have become the most popular place for a photo stop here in Grundarfjörður. You can walk around and see mountain from the best view next t waterfalls and a little far to have another view

Just beautiful! The whole peninsula is gorgeous and this unique location is worth the stop. It gets crowded, so I would suggest going fairly early in the morning or in the evening.

This waterfall is free to access, though it does cost money to park (which can be done easily with the parka app here). There is a short walk across a bridge and then down along side to take in the views of the falls with Kirkjufell in the background. There is ropes indicating where you can be - so some of those perfect photo spots are no longer accessible because of both safety and it’s eroding the land - and yet when we drove by early in the morning we noticed other tourists were not respecting those boundaries. There are signs indicating this is a no drone zone. It’s not a long walk or a long visit - we were here maybe 15-20 minutes in total.

The small waterfall by Kirkjufell is the perfect spot to take in the wondrous view of the legendary mountain, right next to a peaceful waterfall, truly making it a breathtaking experience. There is also parking options right next to the fall, which does cost money, but a small price to pay to witness the grandness of the mountain. This place is a must visit when coming to Iceland 🥰

Kirkjufellsfoss is one of the most stunning waterfall I have ever seen. It is located in the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in Iceland, and is often photographed with the iconic Kirkjufell mountain in the background.

I visited Kirkjufellsfoss on a sunny day in September, and the views were simply breathtaking. The water cascaded down the waterfall into a turquoise pool below, and the Kirkjufell mountain towered over the scene. I spent a good while simply sitting and admiring the view.

If you are ever in Iceland, I highly recommend visiting Kirkjufellsfoss.

We were not so lucky during the day time since it snowed really hard and barely saw the kirkjufell. The ground was covered with snow and it was extremely slippery to walk down the slope to view the falls.

However we came back at night and boy! We were in for a treat. Luckily there were northern light activities. We were able to capture the beautiful moment and was stunned by it. It was my first time hunting and so it was the first time seeing it.

Definitely go here to view northern lights at night since you will get a view of the beautiful mountain in the foreground while having beautiful green northern lights in the back.

P.s. it was partly cloudy night but full of stars. If there was no aurora activity you will still be able to enjoy the beautiful starry sky.

Absolutely worth it to go here! Even in the rain and cloudy conditions, you can’t beat the incredible view of the mountain + falls + lake. Easy access from the paid parking area. We carried our 1 year old baby down to the bottom of the falls (with our hiking boots on).

If you go there you will immediately understand why this mountain is the most photographed in Iceland. It is magical, incredibly beautiful in combination with the river and the waterfalls next to it. It is no coincidence that it is one of the locations in Iceland where the famous Game of Thrones saga was filmed.
And not only Kirkjufell but the whole surrounding area is beautiful and worth seeing.

Great views, wonderful waterfalls. For the cost of parking it was well worth it. Plan to spend a few hours here looking, walking, taking in the sights.

I believe it can be one of the must visit site in Iceland! It looks quite different when we drive from Kolgrafarfjordur and Grundarfjortur. I am impressive by her different layers of colors in a bell shape and it’s isolated stance at shore.

Absolutely stunning, must visit place. There is no fee for entry but have to pay for parking, which is around 6 USD. There's is a small pullout before reaching the parking lot where you can park, cross the road, and walk up to the waterfall (instead of parking uphill and walking down). This pullout could probably only fit 3 cars, though. We parked in the parking lot. You pay when you exit and are charged as per time spent. Could easily spend at least an hour here.
