We only ate dinner at the restaurant but it was very good and service was great. Overall bill was a little expensive for 2 people but fine dining in Iceland is going to cost you. Was a little worried about only having hiking clothes and dining here due to the white table clothes but everyone coming in is exploring so we fit right in. Sheep dish was spectacular! Bread and butter to start was delicious!

The Hotel is undergoing a renovation, but you do not notice it if you are not going to the second wing. The best thing about the Hotel was the cosy Restaurant with very professional personnel, superb quality of food and an interesting wine list. We were positively surprised by Olga, the Head Waitress, who served us and explained all details of the food we ordered.

My wife and I recently got married at the black church and stayed at Hotel Buðir. We had such an amazing time. The bar even stayed open late for us when we got back after the reception. Everyone was so nice and accommodating and we really loved our stay!

Everything it promises and more! Quick friendly check-in process, then we had a couple drinks in the bar before dinner, talking to other guests. The view from the lounge area is beyond postcard-pretty. Dinner was absolutely lovely, especially the wine list and lamb appetizer. The tab totaled 217 USD for three shared courses, two glasses of wine and four drinks in the lounge which is honestly an incredible value for Iceland. We were advised by the front desk that the tap water in the rooms wasn't currently drinkable due to construction on the new addition but they supplied ample bottled water.

That night we went out to the car to get a forgotten phone charger and the northern lights were absolutely popping off for a solid 20 minutes. Even with some ambient light from the hotel it was incredibly vivid!

Breakfast the next morning had a wonderful variety, and I believe started at 7am, good for early risers.

Such a wonderful boutique hotel. The rooms are small but comfortable with a vintage vibe. The views are incredible situated on a bay with rocky outcrops. The views are just stunning. We loved dinner and breakfast as well. A fantastic place to stay.

What a beautiful and atmospheric hotel! We loved absolutely everything about it, but the gorgeous setting and fabulous food were especially notable. Dinner was delicious and the breakfast buffet was the finest we had in 12 nights in various charming inns in Iceland. The rooms had old school charm and the views were stunning. We liked the soundtrack too!

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Budir to be married at the Black Church next door. It is one of my all time favorite hotels. First of all, they upgraded our room and the view was amazing. Mountains, ocean, and lava field all right outside our window! The front desk, restaurant and bar service were all superb. The owners dog visited us while we got ready for our big day, and wished us luck. Very comfortable rooms, and great food. Lovely place.

Stayed at Hótel Búðir from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2. We were there for our wedding, so our full wedding party of 21 people all stayed at the hotel. It's quite the drive from Reykjavik, but there's a lot to see along the way and it's well worth the drive.

Our check-in experience when we all arrived by bus was very quick and easy. The hotel lobby, bar and lounge areas were all extremely charming, well decorated and had beautiful views of the water and mountains. Rooms were also very nice. Well decorated, stocked with what we needed and very clean.

We had our pre-wedding dinner and wedding dinner, both at the hotel. The food was amazing, so I highly recommend them if you're just having a regular dinner or doing a large group event. Their private room, with windows looking out at the beautiful scenery, made it that much more of an amazing experience.

Last but not least, the staff. I have rarely been this impressed with hotel and event staff. Everyone we worked with and who was there to help us during our stay, was absolutely amazing. Extremely friendly and accommodating, no matter what we needed. Due to weather, we had to bring our post-wedding picnic indoors, so they set us up in the hotel and made it a wonderful experience. The wedding dinner was extremely special as well. The room and table were decorated beautifully and again, the staff was just so amazing and made it a special evening we will never forget. Huge thanks to Hótel Búðir and everyone that works there. I strongly recommend their establishment for a vacation visit or wedding event at the black church, a short walk down the road. We will definitely be back when we come back to Iceland. Thank you!

This was a beautiful hotel perfectly located in a very scenic area. Taco was our favorite employee and very helpful behind the front desk. 5/5 stars!

Without question, the restaurant at Hotel Budir was the best restaurant we dined at during our 11 days driving a full circle around Iceland. I don’t think Icelandic fine dining gets much better than this. Literally everything we ordered, from the bread to starters to mains to dessert, had us raving about how good it was. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.

The hotel itself is nice: a little old and needing some updates, but perfectly good considering the remote location. This picture was the view from our hotel room, which is a pretty good view even in cloudy weather.

Excellent hotel in a great location. Great food in the restaurant. The room was spacious, clean and with great views. Very comfortable bed. The hotel lounge and bar are very cosy, again with fantastic views. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
