Campground Grundarfjörður

Most of people that write bad comments feels like they think that camping is like hotel. Most of them are like babies with their that stupid vans, crying that they can't wash their stuff (omg, just use petrol station or clean it with wet paper), crying that no shower - really? Can't stay one day without shower then go to hotel or other country. Use baby wet paper to clean yourself... Who is crying that here is very windy, just get proper tent coz most of travelers use cheaper tents than my sleeping pad. Lol. Good luck everyone and remember where you come and take in mind that you always can go to hotel :)

Camping with a tent April 17. 17-20m/s wind. Tent Mountain Hard Wear Trango.

It is a very nice campground with clean restrooms. The showers are at the pool building by the campground, and you must pay to use the pool, hot pots, and showers.

Not sure what everyone else is going on about or if they’ve ever actually camped before…. But this is a perfectly nice, very beautiful campground. If you’ve ever camped in any American National park, state forest, etc… this will exceed your expectations. Stunning views surrounded by flowers and mountains, plenty of grass to set up on, picnic tables, bathrooms, etc.

There are a few areas to choose from - some quieter than others - so just check out the map when you pull in.

Plenty of space, shielded from wind by high banks, beautiful views, location close to nice hikes. Toilets with hot water. Disadvantages: no showers, washing up sinks outside, with no roof.

Loved this campsite! The views were amazing. Traveling with kids, we loved that there was a playground nearby and we spent the evening hanging in the hot tubs at the pool with the locals. Only 2 bathrooms and no showers, and two outdoor sinks. We showered at the pool. Nice level camper parking and easy access to the electric hook-ups

One of our favorite campsites of our trip. It’s in a beautiful location. Showers are at the pool next door for ISK 1000. Two toilets and an outdoor sink. Play area for kids.

Stayed here in my Happy Camper van in early July 2018. Had a great view of the mountain from my van. Took a hot shower at the pool the next morning.
Just a basic camp ground, nothing fancy. A good place to get a nights sleep.

Basic (no showers) but well-maintained campground. Great view if you go to the area at the western edge of the campground. It was also very quiet and peaceful. The water tank marks the start of several beautiful hikes that go up in the mountains. Highly recommended.

Great campsite, with lovely views, a couple of nice waterfalls within easy walking distance and clean and provisioned toilets.
No ranger came over during our one night here, so we went looking for who to pay before we left. There was an exercise class on in the pool building but no member of staff.

Grass lots Closed during the winter but plenty of room on the gravel. Didn’t use but looked like electricity was on. WC were open and clean and big sink for washing dishes. Very kind people that take care of it.

By far our favorite campsite in Iceland!!! The location, pool, hot tub and all within walking distance of a great town and natural sites.

Public managed camping with basic but great quality services (no shower) just side to the swimming pool (where you pay camping fee).

Flat ground with wide views on fjord and partially kirjufell mountain.

Only 1100 isk per person and not crowded

We were so happy with our stay at this camping site. We had some problems with electricity in our camper and the camping staff were super helpful and kind.

Self service campsite with toilet and playground.

We tent-camped two nights here and had a great time.

Camping sencillo pero bien de precio.
Tiene baños, electricidad, agua para recargar y depósito de aguas negras. Se paga en el polideportivo de delante y tienen opción de pagar las duchas (compartidas) que son de allí mismo, depende qué hora vas no hay nadie en las duchas y tienen secador, la verdad las instalaciones bien. Los baños de fuera tienen calefacción, la única pega es que la gente es muy sucia, y no creo que pasen tanto a limpiar, si la gente fuera más cívica estaría mejor.
Además tuvimos la gran suerte de ver una enorme aurora boreal para nosotros solos.
