Such a beautiful black sand beach! It was pretty crowded when we visited, but still worth the time.
We went to the cafe nearby and (since we brought sandwiches) we had the best carrot cake in a while! Will definitely need to try the food as well next time!

Great location, but very crowded. The parking is big so enough place to park. There is a little restaurant close to the beach so you can have a drink or something to eat on a cold day. The waves are massive! Be sure to pay attention to the warning signs and in what section of the beach to go. The caves and giant rock structures feel unreal! Truly something from a fairytale. We also spotted the puffins on the higher layers of the mountain.

Beautiful beach. I can't believe the sand was really black. The beach was amazing. It has rocks to climb on and take photos. I was there with a tour group. It was worth the day trip visit. And if you got lucky , you might be able to see the local birds flying.

Plenty space of parking and lot of tourists here too. There are also toilets and a restaurant here. One thing I love this place even there are many tourists because you don't have to wait or queue for taking photos. You just pick up the spot and climb as you like!

One of the best gems of Iceland. Amazing vibe during summer! My husband and I had a wonderful time. Highly recommend.

Amazing experience to see black sand and pillars, the waves are quite rough. They warned NOT TO TURN YOUR BACK to the waves, it's not for swimming in, it's deadly and killed 2 people this year. Careful when taking photos, lots of unusual landscape

The parking is not the experience but the beach. It is more round beach stones than black sand. The walking is tough so make sure you are in good shape. You have a good view of the dormant volcano and glacier from here. The waves and picture opportunities are spectacular. There is a shipwreck on the beach as well as a random hot tub that washed up on shore. No o e is sure how it got there!

If you want to be as close as possible to the Black beach, the rock formations, the shop, restaurant and public toilets, then this is the one.
It's a huge unpaved and unmarked carpark. Fits any car of any size. Just try to avoid the bigger rocks on the ground while driving.
It's a busy spot and people seem to be nervous and in a rush to park and visit. Take your time, take it slow. There's enough space for everybody.
The carpark is convenient and safe. And it's Pay&Display. Make sure you pay up to avoid a hefty fine.

Gorgeous stop on the south coast. The sand is actually completely black, unlike other beaches that claim to be black but are just pebbly. Watch out for the waves! Seriously they are no joke.

BEAUTIFUL! It was so cold when we went, but well worth the sleet and rain. Definitely bring your rainboots, though, because the sand is basically mud due to the water.

Relatively big parking. Be aware of the strong winds and yes you need a sand protection insurance for your car. Flying a drone is allowed as long as you don’t hit anyone or anything but winds can make it difficult.

Place was amazing, free parking and the views and waves were such a site to see not even including the black sand. The air was incrediblly fresh. There is also a little coffee/food place if you want to stay longer and eat.
*do not get close to the waves they can hit you with a "sneaker" wave and pull you out to sea

Parking is right at the beach so thats perfect! At this beach you have to pay to use the toilet.
Beach is beautiful, the black sand and stones are really something else! If there are no tour busses, the beach will be pretty quiet. There's warning signes of the waves everywhere so they could be very dangerous.
