I rented an all-wheel-drive Kia Sportage SUV from Blue Rental for nine days. I drove the vehicle around the entire ring road and to many destinations accessible only via F roads. It performed perfectly, and the people at the rental desk were nice and helpful during the rental and return processes. The online checking sped things up as well. I would definitely rent from them again the next time I'm in Iceland.

Was afraid that there would be hidden fees or fines, but we had no problems, staff was very nice and professional.
Car had some scratches (that is normal for a rental) but was afraid to get blamed for them, staff didn't blame us and even reminded to take photos on pick-up.
Pick-up and drop-off was fast without any problems.

What a nice company. Their website is transparent and simple. You get what you rent, no nonsense with alternatives. I booked two hours before pickup. Rented a good-as-new Kia Sportage from their Reykjavik location and loved driving it, mostly on road but also some gravel road (i.e. to Litla crater parking lot) which it handled really great due to the good suspension. It was a super fancy model as well, heated seats and steering wheel and huge CarPlay display integrated into the dash.

The Check-in was super simple and the staff member was genuinely nice. I dropped the car off at the airport two days later and this only took 30 seconds as well. Then a few minutes walk to the terminal building from there.

I love how this is a local family-owned business that seems decent and not pushing insurances and whatnot. If I make it back to beautiful Iceland I’ll rent with them again.

Prompt communications and transparency is what I look for in a car rental company. These guys are true professionals. Gave me a free upgrade to a Land Cruiser when the original car came in damaged. I drove ~ 2000 kms across the vast landscapes of this beautiful country.

I really recommend getting a heavier vehicle as the crazy winds made me feel that even a 3 ton vehicle was submitting to the relentless winds. Getting the pickup was straightforward and the drop off to the airport was seamless. Just park in and if you have already refuelled and there are no damages, the drop off took 15 seconds for me. From there, there's a 20 min shuttle to the airport or if you are willing to walk 200 m, it will take 3-5 mins.

Great rental company, Collecting the car was a breeze because they give you the option to check in online prior to arriving so all you have to do is show them your QR code and they hand over the keys. returning the car was just as easy. The staff are super friendly too. This was my second time renting from them and both times have been very positive experiences. I'll definitely be back. Highly recommended

Would highly recommend this hire car company. The car was immaculately clean and ready on time, we got a 4x4 to go on the f roads which is clearly explained on their website. The staff were very polite and friendly, making it an overall enjoyable experience. You also get discounted petrol around Iceland which is super handy!

They were amazing, unfortunately the miserable private and public bus companies from keflavic to reykjavic are discriminatory against families with babies as made us live a nightmare. We tried to use flybus and the public service from the airport to the city as we wanted the car just from sunday, we could not as they require you a baby chair system for travelling in bus! The most stupid thing ever in the history of the european union! (We are western white europeans) blue car rental as company of iceland rental helped us and change our reservation to start before and get our car from the airport. Of course we paid since reservation the most expensive insurance, they were the best thing in our trip. We are delighted to use it again and recommend it unfortunately we are never back to iceland country without respect or common sense for families.

The cars are in great condition and the company is the best! Everything is clearly explained online and you know what you’re getting yourself into. No hassling when picking up the car, just a quick check of your drivers license and a signature and you are good to go!

As long as there is no damage to the car that causes it to be unsafe to drive in they don’t really mind because stuff happens when you are on the road! Will definitely come back here to rent a car when we return to Iceland!

Second time using Blue car rental and they are spot on! First time when we visited Iceland we was less prepared and had no reservations but decided to walk into the branch and luckily they had a lovely new Kia Sportage available and was strait forward and enjoyable to use and retuned fine. Second time a year later came back to Iceland again and this time was more prepared and pre booked our hire car. I did choose initially for a Toyota RAV4 and then get an email closer to the time of my booking to say it would either be the car I chose or something similar, I have to admit I was slightly worried I would get a lesser car but I was very wrong and pleasantly surprised when I picked up my car from the self serve lockers to find they have provided me with a new Hyundai Tucson which was a very nice car. All the tech features I needed for my 4 day trip around Iceland! They did email me a document to show any pre-existing marks which was reassuring to know and after all this is Iceland and the roads and tracks are very tough! I also misjudged my timings for my return flight and asked them kindly if I could extend my return time from 12pm to 5pm instead and they kindly replied confirming that this was not a problem and there was no extra charge! Very good customer service from Blue car rental! Hopefully I will be back a third time.

Great place to rent a car from. I rented Renault Capture with around 2000 km on it. The car had all modern features: car play, big screen, cruise control, multiple USB ports etc. Went around the island with no issues. I was supposed to return it on Sunday 9 pm but hotel near airport I was staying in didn’t have shuttle from the airport to bring me back (their website stated that they did) so there was no way for me to return the car and get back to the hotel. They let me keep the car overnight and bring it early in the morning without extra charge. Which is very nice of them. I brought the car before their office was opened in the morning. You can check-in in advance online and save time. Pick up and return process was easy. Thank very much for great service! I would recommend this company!

The customer service was superb. Me and my wife have been having such a hard time with trying to rent a car for our honeymoon. I tried for over an hour to get the website to work. I reluctantly clicked the chat with us icon. Most of the time the "help" received is just a disgruntled worker letting you know there is nothing they can do. I got Agi as my rep and she was great. She even created the order for me from scratch and got me all taken care of!! She was great.

We had an excellent experience with Blue Car rental. We rent a Toyota RAV4 and a KIA Sportage. Both of them are great. The pick up and drop off place is close to the airport so we can even walk here. We arrived at midnight but the pick up process was very smooth as we can pick up the key from the key box. We can also get discounted fuel from certain gas stations. We will definitely choose Blue again in our future Iceland trips!

Blue Rental exceeded our expectations for our Iceland trip! Rented a Toyota Yaris for a two week, summer Ring Road drive. When I arrived I was given a similar class vehicle, but wound up exchanging it the next day for a Yaris at the Reykjavik satellite office for an issue with brakes (sounded like pads were just overdue for changing). Check-in/pick up and drop off were a breeze. The second car was in excellent shape and served me well. I did purchase the best insurance package to be safe and wound up not needing it as I thankfully had a very safe and uneventful summer road trip. I will definitely rent through Blue on my next visit as I was satisfied with the car and the service provided.

We initially booked with another company, however on checking the small print studded tyres was not guaranteed. So I cancelled and rebooked with bluecar. Booking last minute gave me a discount so I ended up with a newer model Dacia Duster and studded tyres for a very small amount more. The car had no problems and I felt safe driving the whole time. We had a diesel and did the golden circle and south coast for £80 fuel for 3 days which was better than I expected.
We got their standard insurance and then used "reduced my excess" to cover everything else. For £10 for 3 days it covered tyres, under car everything up to 10k that blue car didn't. No problems on return at all. So easy to just walk and not have to rely on shuttles.

Blue Car Rental has very good rates on their cars, even when the tourist season picks up. Their rates are better than any other car rental company in the area. They have great customer service. We went to pick up our car at midnight and they helped us and had us on the road in less than half an hour. It was the same for when we dropped the car off.

If you are going to Iceland use this car rental company, not the cheapest but their cover has everything included so you don’t have to worry about excesses. Checkin online before you arrive so no wait time on arrival. Super fast service and car excellent

Both times I have visited Iceland, I have used Blue car rental. The shuttle is very quick and easy process and when you arrive at the counter to pick up your car keys the staff are all very friendly and helpful. My latest trip I had a nightmare as I misread the car parking signs which meant my rental car was locked in so was unable to drop off the car rental. After a pricey taxi ride to the airport I had to inform Blue that I have left the car in a parking garage. Blue replied very quickly to me telling me not to worry and that they would collect the vehicle as a good will gesture which was very nice of them. all emails I sent to Blue the responses was very quick and supportive. I highly recommend Blue Car Rental as they go above and beyond and all their staff are really nice and friendly. Rental price are also very good and the vehicles you get are clean and in good condition. Best rental company by a mile!!!
