Hótel Búrfell

We stayed here for one night and also had our dinner and breakfast here. The room was clean and spacious. We had enough space for opening our luggages and the shower cubicle was also large. For the dinner we had lamb and it was delicious. The mushroom sauce was perfect. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was also great since it provided a variety of options. Fantastic experience.

This location is absolutely stunning, not too far off the main highway. Rooms are nice. Staff even brought a bed for our baby to sleep in. Breakfast was delicious and very friendly people. Loved it here.

The rooms are great for the price. The location is optimal (10 minutes by car from Vik). In addition to a perfect service, the highlight of our stay was the dinner. We each had the cod and it was amazing. The plate was well furnished (with a delicious salad) and the quality and freshness of the fish was very high! We recommend it🤗

Excellent place to stay when our in the SW country area of Iceland. Very clean room, friendly staff, and free breakfast. Breakfast was a nice selection. They accommodated a late arrival.

We stayed hear the night of 06/30 after an exhausting day. When we booked the stay, many nearby hotels were already full. So I did not have very high expectations. It turn out we had a spacious room excellently maintained. Without looking at the surroundings, I would have mistaken the room to have the maintenance resources of a large hotel in a large US city. The breakfast was amply supplied. The location is picturesque. The driveway into the hotel is unpaved and somewhat bumpy. On it one should drive slowly. I wish every hotel on this trip was like this one.

When I saw some reviews and the hotel photos, we had very low expectations. But to our surprise, it was better than we thought.

Our room was basic but well kept. We also had a nice view from our room. Breakfast was included in the price, so we did not expect much. However, the breakfast had a really nice spread from scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon. They also had Icelandic breakfast items (Salmon, Yogurt etc..). Coffee/Latte from the machine was excellent (which was included). They also had juices and ginger tea.

I found that their restaurant at night was not utilized much. One night we we were tired from sightseeing, so decided to give the restaurant a try. We ordered the Lamb and Arctic Char. Both were cooked to perfection. One of the better meals we had in all of Iceland.

At first, the idea of driving a kilometer through a gravel road to reach my destination sounded sketchy, yet I'm so glad that I chose to stay here. It was the easiest check-in I've ever encountered, the rooms were perfect, the complemetary breakfast was incredible, and if you're into fitness then running the mountain road next to the hotel is a must-do. I would love to stay here again.

One of the best hotels we have stayed at during our Iceland self-drive. The room was clean and spacious, the beds were comfortable, and I loved how the temperature of the shower in the attached bathroom can be adjusted up to 48 degrees celcius (which is awesome when it’s cold outside).

Buffet breakfast was included in our package, and we also opted for dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. The dinner menu is really simple - your choices are limited to the Soup of the Day, the Fish dish, the Lamb dish, a Vegetarian Dish and the Dessert of the Day. We got the Soup of the Day, the Lamb Prime (served with mushrooms and potatoes) and the Dessert of the Day (which was chocolate cake) to share. In a nutshell - the food was really good. The lamb was the best I’ve tasted here in Iceland, and even the mushrooms and potatoes were outstanding. While this hotel is located outside of Vik, I would still recommend this hotel (including its restaurant) as a place to stay while exploring the Vik region.

A beautiful hotel. Well off of highway 1, the room I was in had an awesome view of the mountain behind the hotel. Spectacular location close to Vik and all of the wonders of eastern Iceland.

Take an unpaved road off the main highway and it will bring you to this nice remote hotel at the end of a green field next to a mountain. You can really hear the birds here. You can also try to befriend local sheep. Comfortable rooms, simple but very nice breakfast with high quality products including salmon

Great spot off the beaten path! Close to Vik for food, petrol, and supplies, but far enough away to enjoy the quiet and open space you came to Iceland to enjoy. Easy check in and comfy accoms are accented with a nice breakfast buffet and fast wifi.

This little hotel had all you need in a great location close to the Black Beach.
Slept well, nice showers, clean linens, and a great breakfast!
