Puffin Hotel Vík

We stayed in the Puffin HOTEL, NOT the hostel last March. It looks like a number of these reviews are for the hostel.

The hotel was amazing. It was clean and cheap with good breakfast. The staff were very nice, which seemed to be the normal around Iceland. We didn't have a fridge in our room, but the hotel staff were able to store some refrigerated meds for us in a fridge only staff had access to. This was the hotel, not the hostel, so there wasn't a public kitchen. Granted I didn't look for one either. Any drinks we wanted cold we stuck outside on our snowy balcony. At night some people gathered in the dining room to hangout and play games. I think there was a small bar there as well.

Its clean, the people are nice, the food wasn't bad. We liked our room. It's not meant to be a luxury hotel and it doesn't claim to be one. That said, it exceeded our expectations. We'd absolutely stay there again.

During our stay at the Puffin Hotel in Vik on our way to Höfn, we were pleasantly surprised by the accommodations and services provided. The hotel's central location made it easy for us to explore the charming town of Vik and its surrounding attractions. The free parking was a convenient bonus for our road trip.

Our room at the hotel was cozy and well-equipped, ensuring a comfortable night's rest for our family. We were particularly grateful for the cot that was set up for our small child, making our stay much more convenient and enjoyable.

In the morning, we were treated to a delicious breakfast spread that gave us the energy we needed for the day ahead. The friendly staff at the hotel made us feel welcome and taken care of during our short visit.

Overall, our experience at the Puffin Hotel in Vik was wonderful and we would highly recommend it to other travelers passing through the area. It provided the perfect rest stop for us on our journey to Höfn.

Great little hostel right in the middle of Vik. Very warm inside and has a communal living room, kitchen and shower rooms. Very cosy little place. Would stay here again. 3 of us had a triple bed room on the top floor

Great experience staying here. Staff were polite and helpful, room was comfortable and cozy. Plenty of parking and the breakfast was really tasty. Ideal location in Vík by the tourist information centre. Would stay here again if I was in the area.

We had a great night in Puffin Hotel! Everything was great and I would like to thank Michael (the receptionist from Czech Republic) for all the great tips and recommendations he gave to us for our next couple of days through the ring road (specially the ice cave + glacier hiking tour!). Definitely recommend!!

Got this place as one of the accomodation in my Iceland Tour.
The whole group get one building--3 floor for all 25 people, and surprisingly everything is sufficient.
The kitchen is complete and the dining room is spacious, my 'house' get 4 showers and 4 WC i think. The ladder is a bit small and tight but it reminds me of my granparent's old wooden house so it was instead become a nostalgic and good thing for me. The room is ok though it's small and opening our big luggages is tricky.

Great little hotel on the lovely little town of Vik. Plenty of restaurants nearby and just a short wall to the beach, or the church on the hill in the other direction.

Stayed here (In a twin room) on a road trip. It was really great. The price was very competitive, the rooms were clean, the staff was amazing. We are especially thankful for Michael. He did everything he could to make our stay wonderful, including giving us some local tips that we would have totally overlooked.

Room was cozy, warm, and comfortable. Basic amenities, nothing fancy. Great location. Decent breakfast, which was included with the stay. Front staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location, 10 min walk to the Black sand beach. Older building but it was quiet the most part.

We stayed in the Hostel building, which is a lovely historic building. Our room was lovely. Typical of what you would expect. Clean. Plenty of outlets. Comfortable beds. The common areas were very nice. The staff was welcoming. The kitchen was spotless as were the showers and bathrooms. The reception staff was very helpful! We highly recommend.

Easy check in and check out. It includes breakfast. Very near the black sand beach and the black crust pizzeria. Kind receptionist. :)

Room was large, newly renovated it seems. Great bathroom with big shower. Had everything we needed. Only downside was that the room smelled damp. Reception was great and super helpful, both the receptionists we encountered. Breakfast was perfect for our needs, loved the added touch of the waffles, have missed Nordic waffles. Great location, close to the beach and Smidjan Brygghus. Would stay again.

One of the best stay ever! I celebrated my birthday here, an improvised little party in a very lovely company. The Greek guy at the reception was simply fabulous, both very customer centric and very helpful. Beautiful memories thank you very much! 🙏🏻

The hotel is a bit dated, but it was clean and it smelled fresh. The rooms were spacious and simple. It is located near Black Sand Beach and good restaurants. There is also plenty of tea and coffee available in the hallway where the rooms are.

Stayed two separate nights. One night in the front of the hotel and one in the extension. The only issue we had was the room in the extension didn't have temperature control and it was quite warm.

Breakfast is included. It has the normal Icelandic items, plus fresh waffles!

We stayed in the hotel portion of the building. Very clean and nice sized rooms. Comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. Good breakfast, too. And it's only a short walk from the restaurant downtown.

Low budget hostel, but very comfortable. Shelter conditions, a well-equipped kitchen, and most importantly - excellent conditions for drying clothes and shoes.

The hosts are very nice.
The room is cozy, there is room for luggage, the water in the shower is really hot (which is a treat for the weather), the floor is very special in terms of design.
No lift from what I noticed, there is a restaurant just a meter from the hotel.
If you stop by a Vik for the night, I recommend to stay there.

Very friendly staff, the room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. The room was nice and warm, and the bathroom was nice. We really like the floor, which looked like it was made of pebbles but was very smooth. Breakfast buffet included was great, with a waffle maker and a selection of different foods. We would stay here again.

Location is a bit away from the crowd. Thin walls that you can hear the talking and walking of people outside but its ok for its category! Its clean, good sized room for couple and typical Icelandic breakfast! If you plan to stay hear then its good for your budget!
