I’m a year late in writing this review but I was remembering with my wife and had to write it. Gudrun and Emil are the most amazing hosts we have ever encountered. We got caught in a snow storm and they took us in on Christmas Eve (the main evening in Iceland). They treated us to Christmas dinner, all of the Icelandic treats, and included us in their traditions. They didn’t need to but they took us in during the storm. Amazing people.

The apartment is incredible too. The kitchen is stocked with anything you need and the separation of the house gives plenty of privacy. We will be back to visit them and enjoy this beautiful accommodation and location again

The host, Gudrun, provides waffle mix for the morning along with homemade butter and jams. It felt like staying with family. We were a close walk to the black sand beach, lava show and different restaurants. The view of the snow covered mountains made a great backdrop for morning coffee.

An absolutely phenomenal experience. The host, Gudrun, allowed us to check in early (I wouldn't count on it, though). We had just finished doing a 4-hour glacier climb and hike, and she could see that we were soaked through. Not only did Gudrun allow us (father and three grown sons) to check in, but she offered to wash all of our wet clothes! The two-room apartment was spacious and modern, and we watched a couple of episodes of the Icelandic TV series Katla, filmed here in Vik in 2021, on the large TV. Gudrun had prepared waffle mix for us and ground coffee was ready. She advised on further excursions and offered fermented shark. So friendly and helpful. Could not recommend more highly.

We were here for the second time. That should already say enough about this guesthouse, but I would like to go into more detail.
It is one of the best guesthouses I have ever been to. The bedroom is big and there is a big, very nicely decorated living room. The kitchen has all you need (dishes, a fridge, spices, cream cheese, tea, sugar, etc). There is also fresh dough, so you can make delicious waffles in the morning, as well as cookies and home made jams. The bathroom is equipped with different products for everyone to use. Everything is very clean!

The owners are lovely! They help whereever they can and gave us great tips for activities near Vik. All in all, they made us feel like visiting friends rather than just checking in to a regular guesthouse. We will certainly come back the next time we are in Iceland! :)

Unique! They are the best, very hospitable owners, looking to do everything to make their guests comfortable. Amazing rooms, beautiful living room, stunningly clean bathroom and toilet. The house has everything a person could need, There were biscuits, pickles, tea, coffee and everything in the kitchen. The owners had made liquid for waffles, they left us homemade jam in the fridge. If I could give them 10 stars I would do it. Thanks to them! ❤😇

Lovely owner. The house is beautiful, well looked after. Very cosy bedroom. You can cook in the kitchen. The owner makes waffle mix and homemade jams for the guests to enjoy. The only thing was a faulty plug in our bedroom, which was pretty unsafe so we just didn't use it. Would still go back there. Ideal location to go explore the Katla glacier.

We had a PERFECT stay 💙 We booked 2 nights, but before ou arrival, the hosts offered us to stay a 3rd night for free! We were so lucky and it was a great timing, because it was during a snow storm that lasted 2 days. Our room was nice, clean and cosy, the living room is great to stay during bad weather, you can cook whatever you want and just chill in the sofa. The hosts prepare waffle for breakfast 🥞 and the guesthouse is near everything by foot (the beach, the supermarket...). We were very lucky to have such nice hosts, they take good care of their guests. We recommend it 200% 🙏

The owners of this guesthouse are very friendly! They sent out very detailed information prior to my arrival. This was my first time staying here as I usually stay in a hotel down the street, but everything was booked out so I decided to give it a go. I was not disappointed! There were two bedrooms with a shared living space and bathroom. The house was decorated so wonderfully, with cute little knick-knacks that made it feel like a home away from home. The owner provided homemade marmalade, waffle mix and Icelandic cheese for breakfast. Tea, coffee and biscuits were also available. Kitchen was well-stocked with cooking implements. The bed was comfortable, room was large and warm, and the bathroom was clean and stocked with luxurious Soley Organics products (if you're not familiar with it, it's an Icelandic brand of skincare that is really nice!). Best of all, the owners worked hard to accommodate myself and fellow guests as we were stuck in a severe storm. I would definitely stay here again!

Amazing Guesthouse. Very friendly hosts and a nice and cozy atmosphere. Feels like coming home. There is always fresh waffle dough in the fridge for fresh waffles in the morning. The kitchen has everything you need.

It was a such clean and great place to stay! The host is very welcoming and warm. Even it does not say includes breakfast she have tea and coffee there plus some extra things for guest. Really enjoyed staying there!

THE BEST!
We are so lucky and glad we found this place. On a great trip to Iceland this home has been a bright spot - and that’s saying a lot as Iceland is awesome and this place is among the best of the best.

It just feels like home (a clean home), welcoming, warm, friendly, cozy and so well appointed and decorated.

The owner is welcoming and helpful - she helped us find a great restaurant, plan the rest of our trip, get to know Iceland better and even told us about upcoming local private concert.

Please enjoy it as much as we did and take good care of our new friends!

We really loved it!

Superb hospitality and decor, it was a pleasure to spend the night here. Reasonable price for Icelandic standards for tourists. The walls are rather thin (you can hear people moving outside the room), but it was not an issue for me.

Amazing accomodations, clean and well kept with a full kitchen for cooking. The host is helpful and warm. A+ will stay again next time I'm around these parts.

if you are going to drive in Iceland and you need to stay one/two/three or any number of night in Vik, that is your place, we booked it through AirBnB and it was perfect.

We stayed there with another couple and their baby, and it was great, no problems and the apartment was perfectly big enough for the five of us.

She's available to answer any questions... about anything.
We wanted to stay at second night but she was all booked up.
But she found us a space just up the street.

Friendly host who made us pancake mix and home made jelly and spread. The room has a living room attached which has a full kitchen. We went to the nearby super market and cooked ourselves a nice meal.

Charming host provided waffle mix for the morning and a jar of cookies for snacking. Answered every question we had and reccomended where to eat in town

The owner is an absolutely wonderful woman. Best waffles ever. Clean and comfortable accommodation.
