ACE Rent A Car

Had a shuttle service that came on time and was reliable! Very close to the Marriott so if you’re staying there, it’s good.

Good deal, car was rented under the Go Iceland name, but it ended up being a ACE Rent A Car office. Got the Duster for a week that was a few years old with plenty of dents and scratches, but worked fine. Pick up and drop off were easy. Iceland is the most expensive place to rent cars in the World, but nice place to see. Costco gas was cheapest place to fuel up.

Very nice experience. Kind and professional service. Efficient, clean and fully fueled car. Dacia duster consumed only 4.2 liters of fuel per 100 km. Transfer from and to the airport. I recommend this rental.

Rented a car here for our trip and was wary given all the negative reviews warning of issues with them charging for unseen damage. I’m here to say that wasn’t the case for us at all. Pick up and drop off were efficient and everyone was helpful and friendly. The airport shuttle driver also showed us the northern lights on our pick up. Would rent from here again. Thanks!

Quick checkin and checkout with courteous staff. Very close to the airport, but I would plan to get there a half hour early in case it's busy or you just miss the shuttle. Hyundai 2.0 was great, 30,00km and no issues. Great gas milage and wasn't bad on the gravel roads. We got the insurance for the piece of mind and they didn't even inspect the car on return because of it, would defintely recommend getting the insurance from them with the money you're saving over the big rental car companies.

Was pretty straightforward, but I had to pay Ace insurance, which I didn't expect

Ultimately I feel they deserve 5 stars for our service received this trip for following reasons:
- easy to call / contact with 24/7 phone service
- easy pickup from airport and transfer to car depot
- easy dropoff Back to airport
- quick collection and quick return
- was given the ok on Return: only just returned so I will update if we do receive any mystery charges. We didn’t take additional insurance, but note that all rental companies try to offer this - it’s normal - luckily we had sun and very little wind, but if you expect bad weather, just get the insurance to reduce your stress. And just compare the overall cost with additional insurance prior to booking to compare with other car rentals

We just came back from our trip to Iceland. After reading the reviews I even consider to get an alternate reservation just in case. But I just wanted to let you know that the customer service was great. The car was also great, almost brand new. I will leave one advice, before taking the car , make sure you check for any dents, scratches or missing paint. Bring it up to the attention of their associates. I had a couple small dents and it was noted on a piece of paper. Otherwise if you are not careful you will pay for it. Take a video as well. When I returned the car they did the inspection and double check my noted paper. Even the best roads have rolling stones all over, so drive carefully.

I arrived in Iceland, and the Thrifty rental company dropped the ball on my reservation. They had no car for me. After scrambling to find a car, Sixth and Enterprise both had cars (1,000 Euro for the week), I found Ace online with basically the same deal I had had with Thrifty. With really no choice, I went with Ace despite reviews that would turn most away. Their staff was professional and friendly, offering advice and insight to help you avoid issues in the area. Their establishment is about two miles from the airport, and I can understand some finding it inconvenient. After being saved over 800€, I was more than happy to take a shuttle. When I returned to drop off the car, having read other reviews, I expected Inspector Gadget with magnifying lenses, a blacklight and some Teflon swipes. What I got was a normal person conducting the EXACT walk around I've come to expect from several companies in several different countries. They're fairly priced, they're professional, they're friendly, they treat you like a human and they don't try to screw you over. For these reasons, I cannot recommend them highly enough, and can give them no less than 5 stars even though they aren't located in the terminal.

[24M from USA] Required a shuttle from baggage claim to the car rental service. $2800 pending credit card charge ‘deposit’ required. I returned the car this morning, and the $2800 deposit was returned a few moments ago.

Don’t crash, scrape, or rough up the car and you won’t have any issues. Sounds like a lot of the 1 star reviews were negligent in their use of the car. Pro tip: save the car condition report and make sure the person makes note of all damage on your sheet before you drive off.

Be friendly and unaccusatory - they are simply a business with rules and guidelines so their fleet of vehicles don’t get trashed.

at first I was pretty worried with average 1.7 stars
but please do your research, buy the insurance that fits you (or even over)
I drive very careful and park far away from other car, I still got a small scratch from stone chip, lucky I paid GP from them and nothing to worry
I got Clio which is 10000km only, overall condition is very good

Thank you for your service, I understand some people might have issues but I have had good experiences with this service, everything went according to the plan! Recommend.

If you look at all the 1 star reviews, you will see that people who can't drive trying to put blames on the company for not forgiving their dents, scratches and marks. I know that Iceland has lots of rough roads - so avoid those if you can't drive.

#1 rule of renting a car. Always start with a full video walk through of the car. If there's a dent that isn't in the video, it's your fault. Own up to it.

This rental car experience was a great one! The shuttle driver was friendly and nice, and we were not charged any extra despite putting up a $2800 deposit. Not sure why there were so many bad reviews - this place is fine as long as you are a good driver.

Not sure what the negative reviews are about, we rented a car for 8 days and everything was perfect. Immediate pickup at the airport, got a lot of information on driving and weather in Iceland, got a nice car with no issues, and return and shuttle to the airport were also perfect.

Great car rental experience! The car was in perfect conditions and the agents were truly helpful on every step of the way. Will rent again for sure!

Great experience. we were give a skoda diesel rental. pickup took 15 mins. drop off was very quick. staff were very pleasant and we had a nice chat

I was terrified after reading reviews halfway through my Iceland trip and this weighed heavily on my mind for the second half of the trip :( especially as we had found several minor chips and scratches not marked on the sheet from previous use that we found to be insiginifcant. However, we found the staff to be friendly and accommodating like everyone else in Iceland. We were even helped through the process of getting an automatic car when I accidentally booked a manual one. The shuttle was confusing at first but info desk at airport helpful. The shuttle was quick (multiple running) and the only waiting we had to do was due to my manual booking error. Drop off was a breeze at 6pm we were the only customers and the process was quick and painless; no charges as no issues found on the car. We also had no trouble with the car and put around 2000km during our visit. Overall good service.
