Pictures do not do this place any justice. What an amazing site! We happened to visit on a weekday and it was decently busy. There was a bit of a queue to buy tickets and get in.

It details part of history of Iran and the illustrations which accompany it are incredible. There are both English and Farsi texts to explain the images on each of the walls.

The architecture is another level. Safavid times. Highly recommend a visit.

One of the most beautiful historical buildings in Isfahan is the Forty Pillar Palace, which one gets overwhelmed by watching. A beautiful pond that reflects the role of the building when the sun shines and historical paintings of different kings in this land.

Very nice palace with a nice garden and the walls and ceilings inside the palace is filled with intricate paintings depicting the history of iran. Our visit happened during the ramdan holidays, so the site was crowded with a lot of visitors.

This is an oasis in the middle of the city, in short distance to other tourist attractions. During the summer months can be unexpectedly closed due to the dust in the atmosphere. Although the garden is not out of the ordinary, the palace itself is: colorful paintings, intricate decorations, old pieces of art.

Another spectacular UNESCO world heritage site in the heart of Isfahan. It is part of a Persian garden full of beautiful giant trees. The architecture is another unique one you can visit while in Iran. The Ceiling artworks and wall paintings are perfect examples of art.

A Safavid lodge with excellent paintings.
The hall has only twenty columns but they are reflected in the water, so hall of forty columns. The interior has some beautiful Safavid paintings, including one of the Battle of Chaldiran. It is a little away from the main square, but definitely worth visiting in Isfahan.

Chehel Sotoun Palace meaning forty columned palace first opened in 1647. The pavilion is located at the far end of a long pool on which twenty columns are reflected to make the forty columns.
inside the pavilion there are six main paintings which were painted in different times.
One of the paintings that I like the most is The Karnal Battle of Nader Shah of Afsharid Dynasty that was painted in Qajar era in the year 1801.

The most atractive garden and building in Esfahan. The design is clasic for Persian gardens, but the ensemble looks awesome. The building has incredible peintures and mirrors. Dont miss this garden from your Esfahan tour.

Chehel Sotoon Palace is so captivating that you can simply find a chair with a view of the palace, immerse yourself in the serene sounds of chirping birds and rustling leaves, and step into the cozy café nestled within. It's an authentic Persian sanctuary where I love to unwind, sip some tea, and soak in the atmosphere.

Nice palace with nice pool at front and back of it you can see 40 columns (20 column with picture of them in pool).Very nice painting on the walls inside the palace building. Especial statues of lions at the base of columns. if you look from side you can see two profile of two lions but when you change your view angle ( from a corner of column base) each two profile joint each other and become one complete face of lion.Very nice design.

There are repair works in the complex. Nevertheless the garden is very beautiful. It is worth paying a short visit. Recently emerged (not completely, though) from a long restoration process, the 40-columns-palace is located in a beautiful Persian garden, and hosts huge mural paintings, with historical meaning - in the inner side, and an impressive mirror arcade - in the outer side... Do not count twice, the pavilion has only 20 columns ;-) should visit very beautiful arts

Amazing Palace From Persian Safavid Empire. The name, meaning "Forty Columns" in Persian, was inspired by the twenty slender wooden columns supporting the entrance pavilion, which, when reflected in the waters of the fountain, is said to appear to be forty. The Chehel Sotoun Palace is among the 9 Iranian Gardens which are collectively registered as one of the Iran’s 23 registered World Heritage Sites under the name of the Persian Garden.

Amazing place. A slightly different architectural version than most Iranian monuments. And #teamrusztowania - happy.

Chehel Setun palace or 40 column palace is located in Esfahan province is dates back to Saffavied era when Esfahan was the capital of Iran about 400 years ago.
That structure was built by the Shah Abbas the first and some parts were completed in the time of Shah Abbas the second.
This palace has 20 wooden columns but because of the huge pool infront of the building and reflection of columns in it, we call this building, 40 Column Palace. It is registered in UNESCO.
