Shikher Guest House

Nice experience, little outside of the main town which is actually what I wanted. Everyone is nice, well mannered, and helped us quite in everything.
The rooms are beautiful, and the views are also good. Food quality and quantity both are also good.

The stay at Shikhar guest house was great. The hotel staff names bhusan and manager dhiraj are very friendly and helpful. Hotel Food was yummy and view from top floor rooms were awesome

It feels like you're living as a house guest of a well-heeled local. And you actually are. Dhiraj Gurung has a well maintained sprawling property where he also lives with family in one part of the house. The rooms at the back, especially room 28 upwards have very good views of the Kanchanzangha range. On a clear day, you can sit out at the balcony and look out forever.
The service is very efficient, the food is excellent and reasonably priced. They make a killer cappuccino.
On my first evening, I needed to go to town, but I had no vehicle. No cab could be arranged either. Dhiraj dropped us off and picked us up again after dinner, in an hour andahalf. Completely gratis. Such hosts are difficult to find. Five stars on all counts!!

We could experience the amazing view of Kanchenjunga range from our bedroom. The breakfast was great. The staffs are very helpful. The room and the balcony were clean and spacious. The garden is too good to enjoy in a sunny morning. The location is on a hill and a bit far from the main market area of Kalimpong; they happily arranged taxis for us whenever required.
The only improvement; a tea/coffee making facility in the room would have been great; otherwise the electric kettle has a very limited use.

The view from the rooms are absolutely amazing we can see the snow peaks of kanchanjanga mountain.

The location is a bit on the edge of main city but the house is very beautiful. Very serene and mesmerizing views of the mountains from the deluxe room balconies. A garden with a gazebo sort of place where you can sit and enjoy the outdoor. A swing to swing away all your stress. Staff is very friendly and helpful too. A good place to stay if you want a chill place away from city congestion. The food was pretty good too. Do visit the monastery which is 5 mins walk from the house.

Stayed here during Diwali week for 4 days with family. This was my first experience at a homestay/family run establishment.
Everything exceed our expectations. Rooms were clean and cosy with good view of hills and Kanchenjungha range (if no clouds). The property is green and lush with beautiful lawn, swing, outdoor sitting area, reception with mini library etc.
Wifi was smooth and food was tasty. Inspite of many staff on leave due to festivals, the owners were super involved to make the stay comfortable.
The property is a 5 minute walk to a 100 year old monastery (Geden Tharpa Choling Monastery- a historical place of interest).
It was a memorable experience, hope to come back again soon :)

Mr. Bhushan the manager was really helpful and reliable. He even arranged a car for us for pickup and drop to Siliguri. The food was like home, and the rooms are spacious and clean.

Shikher guest house is a beautiful, well maintained property for a peaceful, relaxing stay in Kalimpong. The staffs are kind and helpful. The view from the room balcony is great as the property is located pretty high in the mountains.
You might need to get a reserve cab to get there as it is located a bit far from the city centre.
Overall it's a great spot for your unwinding time in the serenity of nature.

Had spent a wonderful time at this place. Away from the town’s hustle bustle, this guest house is located in a warm and peaceful environment. The rooms are airy and cozy enough. Foods and services are also satisfactory. The view from the room is spectacular. One of the best places to spend the holidays.

This is one of the best places I've stayed in the whole of India. The view from our room was outstanding! We had a direct view to kanchenjunga and I cannot explain in words how pretty it looked! The rooms are super clean and so is the washroom! The food is outstanding! Vanessa and Thiraj are arguably the best hosts you'll ever meet! cannot wait to visit them again!

Little far from main town of kalimpong but located at very quiet place. If you want to enjoy the nature this is the place. You can park your vehicles here . They have small garden. Staffs are very polite and supportive. Food menu is limited but they serve very tastey food. Price for room and food is also

The location is very nice and quiet. In a big garden you can relax. The rooms clean and very comfortable, the most with balcony under roof. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast and restaurant. I can fully recommend this accommodation. I am German and was on motobiketour in Northeast-India and relaxed 4 days here 🏍😃

Yes it is tucked away on a hill, yes they may not always come across as a "hotel" manned with a truck load of staff and you know why? Because they pride themselves in being a little boutique property that gives you the perfect slice of Kalimpong you need on your vacation there. Thiraj and Vanessa are the most perfect hosts and will take care of everything from what you want to eat to what you want to explore around town or shop and even to what you'd like to read. Their staff - everyone from Bhushan, Sarla, Peter to the girls who help out in the kitchen are the sweetest beings you will find and trust me, those smiling, happy faces can get you through anything. Their rooms are spectacular and on clear days you can definitely see the Kanchendzonga straight up. To us, it felt like it was perfectly located - Away from the market bustle and hidden in the lush foliage of nature. All in all, we totally loved this place and we are glad some of us extended our stay here ❤

This is one of the best places to stay in Kalimpong! Nice cozy rooms with great view, very good, caring and polite staff, which makes it unique. They are acclaimed by Booking.com and TripAdvisor so you don't miss out. Only downside is the approach road is quite narrow and since it's uphill, its bit difficult if downstream vehicles come - it needs good precision driving.

Stay in such tranquility in Mar,18. Away from hustle & bustle of the city its Homely atmosphere. Breakfast is Yammy (still i miss it). Lunce & Dinner is also very tasty. Owner is good helpful person, as well as her staff also. A little library at office, Garden, Swing, View from Room r very nice. i am thankful for their effort to make our trip memorable.
