A breathtaking (literally will take your breath away while hiking) place where you can have a hike in the midst of nature. The lake at the end of a 750 M hike is a place where you will immediately feel the calmness. Places like these are what makes Darjeeling very very special.

It is a relatively quiet place. Although lately, it has become quite popular with tourists and people have been pouring in huge numbers, primarily due to its rich greenery and breathtaking surroundings. But one place which you have to visit while you are here, is the Lamahatta Eco Park.
On entering, you will see a well-manicured garden with a nicely cut out pathway. There are a number of wooden & bamboo gazebos where you can just sit and chill, with the magnanimous pine trees in the background. But the main attraction of the park is the lake at the top, which one has to reach after an 800-m trek uphill, via a serpentine pathway through the pine forest. And trust me when I say this, the trek might be difficult, but once you reach the summit, it is literally heaven on earth.

Due to the steepness and ruggedness of the trekking path, it is better if elderly people don't try it. Also, wearing a sports shoe or running shoe is highly, I repeat, highly recommended.

A popular stop at Lamahatta is the Lamahatta Eco Park that is maintained mainly by the local people and have a nominal entry charge. Enjoy the flower garden and the open-ended pine forest that has a beautiful view. If you are up for an adventure, take a hike to the highest point (bit tricky for beginners, not for old peoples) - just a great view!!

NOTE: Plastic bottles are not allowed inside, so carry some steel bottle, you will need it! Food is not available inside, but plenty shops are available just outside the gates.

The is a pond available at the hill top, ask for proper direction at the entrance.

Beautiful and picture perfect. The rate of entry is Rs. 20/- per head. Tall pine trees, cherry blossoms, orchids and wildflowers - simply captivating. Haven for children and content makers. There is a lake at the top. One can trek through steep jungle trails. However, it should be avoided if anyone has knee problems or is lazy. All types of food and refreshments kiosks are available near the entry gate. Must visit when in Darjeeling.

Its a little park stituated on a hill slope, maintained by the local villagers. They have a nominal entry fee for the park. Once inside, you can walk on beautiful trails through pine forests, there is also a watchtower that you can climb for views of the surrounding valleys and mountains. It has excellent photographic potential too. A good place to visit for 2-3 hours. You can go with kids and families.
A very well maintained and manicured park with trees that stretch to the skies. Beautiful flower shrubs will greet you at the steps. Do visit and walk the stretch for some time and lose yourself in nature.

Lamahata eco-park is the best place I found the entire Darjeeling tour. I also met the most beautiful person at the top of this park, her Jyoti smile killed me❤❤ at first sight. After going back to Kolkata I realised that I need to go to Lamahata every month to see her smile.

One of the biggest tourist attractions of the hills in recent times, the Eco Park is essentially a beautiful, serene, and mystic pine forest, quite well-maintained as well. There is a trail leading towards a sacred pond situated at the summit. The ambiance of the pond and its surroundings is reminiscent of a scene from a detective or suspense novel, with clouds playing in the background. Numerous benches are available; take some time to sit and enjoy the views.

If you are staying in Darjeeling, include this in your day trip sightseeing. We incorporated this into our trip to Darjeeling from Tinchuley, and you can do the same if you prefer spending a few days away from the chaos and crowds of Darjeeling.

The entry fee is very minimal, and there are several pay-and-use toilets near the main entry gate. Once you enter the park, it will take you around 2 hours to complete the trail and finish exploring this beautiful pine forest.

Very beautiful place with big pine trees and mountains.
You can also see beautiful ranges of Kanchanjangha from there.
One washroom 🚻 maintained by local people and watch tower is very vulnerable, so be careful.

If you enjoy scenic beauty then must visit this place. Entry ticket price is 20Rs. At the highest point of the park there is a water body and to reach there you have to trek around 750m. From Darjeeling you have to hire a cab to reach this place. Cab will take arround 2500 -3000 rupees and cover 2-3 nearby other place like tinchuley, takdah orchid centre and while returning you can go to either peae pagoda or ghum and batasia loop. As such Public transport not available, if you go by sharing then you have to come jorebanglow from where you could get share cab.

Lamahatta Eco Park is a wonderful park built on the lap of the hills. This park is located on the road from Teesta Bazar to Darjeeling. This park is so beautiful that one can easily spend hours here. There is a lake at the top of this park. It can be reached by walking a steep hilly path. And here you can see a small lake surrounded by pine trees,
a great view with a strange calm atmosphere. The whole park is also an ideal place for photography.
