I trekked the Singallia ridge trek with Fabian. He is beyond amazing. His service was amazing, he is kind, flexible, fun and professional. We have done a lot of trekking around the world and Fabian is the best, you cannot go wrong.

This was my second trek with Mr. Fabian Tamang....the first was the Singalila Ridge Trek to Sandakphu and Phalut.... After the first trek itself we decided to do our future treks in the Himalayas with Mr. Tamang only.
For this trek to Goechala we were seven members in our group including two females. The age in our group ranged from mid 20s to late 50s, so he had to take care of everyone depending upon their physical ability and fitness, which he managed very well. Starting from planning stage he guided us as how we all should be equipped to deal with the extreme weather conditions and designed the trek to give us ample time to acclimatize at the higher altitude.
One of the very rare thing about Mr. Tamang is that he not only takes full care of his trekking guests but he equally cares about his own team members, i.e., the helpers and also the Ponnies and the Dzoes. His team members are equally enthusiastic, supportive and always ready to help.
Mr. Tamang has not only the information about the peaks on his fingertips but also has excellent knowledge of the entire Himalayan region. Throughout the trek Mr. Tamang not only took care of our regular needs but he also took great care in providing us the right kind of food needed in those high altitude. Over these 10 days we felt like we were a part of the same family.
I would recommend everyone to experience his services at least once after which you will be addicted.

On our 8-day Goechala trek (March 25 - April 1, 2017) we hired the services of Farout Trek. Fabian Tamang and his team did a wonderful job of guiding the seven of us trekkers through the trek's complex terrain, pacing the daily walks so well to help us acclimatise properly, reach our destination and come back without illness or injury.

We found the agency's service always with us, especially when we reached a campsite after a tough day's trek - be it the pitched tents where we slept, the homely hospitable food that nourished us, or the nuggets of information and friendly tips that made our walk on the Himalayas an unforgettable and eniching experience. In all relevant areas -- infrastructure or practical wisdom, knowledge of Himalayas or expertise that helped us negotiate the demands of this tough trek -- Farout's meticulous attention to detail always buoyed us up.

Fabian Tamang himself, as our guide and leader, was a constant source of inspiration with his admirable sense of discipline and his wonderful stock of stories about the mountains.

For the treks we plan to do in future, or for any of our friends or colleagues, we would happily recommend the services of Farout Trek.

Farout trek and Fabian had organised and accompanied us on the Singalila Sandakphu trek. He is by far the most knowledgeable guide of the Eastern Himalayas that we have come across. More importantly, he is a great human being. Farout is a very professional trekking agency highly recommended for all trekking enthusiasts.

This, the Goechala pass trek (24 March - 3rd April 2017) was my second trek in the north-east with Mr. Fabian Tamang and if I were to go back again for another trek, I would choose to trek with Mr. Tamang in a heartbeat.

During such long treks that stretch over days and test your body, your patience and endurance, having an experienced and wise trek leader like Mr. Tamang - makes your journey not just possible but also immensely enjoyable.

Mr. Tamang paced the trek in such a way that all our trek members (of varying age ranges and fitness levels) were able to complete the trek successfully. He lead his staff team of cook/helpers beautifully...by the end of the trek, we all truly had become a family. The staff was wonderful - our tents of great quality and they were always pitched and welcomed us as we reached the campsite after a long day's walk. Everything moved on the clock in both the treks I've done with Mr. Tamang. We also always had a toilet tent - as a female trekker, this was an important consideration.

The food, I must say, was spectacular on all days. Not only was it always on time and offered a lovely variety through the 8 days (which can quite challenging considering the altitudes we climbed to) but Mr. Tamang meticulously planned our food as per altitude levels - considering the energy we'd need. We always had steaming hot cups of black tea and also had bonus treats on some days - like hot popcorn and vegetable fritters (pakoras)! :)

Apart from the trek being very well-organized, a major reason I'd want to keep going back is Mr. Tamang himself. He's spent 30 years in the mountains and he has a genuine love of the Himalayas and you can feel his love and admiration of these mountains when you spend time with him. Trekking with him was perhaps the best way for me to get introduced to the Himalayas. He's a well-read man, a treasure trove of stories and anecdotes...and happens to be a great storyteller. It's been a delight to get to know him. I'll always cherish memories of both the treks (Sandakphu Phalut, Goechala Pass) that I've done with him.

So this Goechala-Pass (25th Mar -1st Apr 17 ) was my first Trek with Farout and Mr Tamang and it turned out to be an awesome experience.
I would not think twice if I myself wish to go for another trek or to recommend to my friends for a trek in Sikkim/Nepal .
I liked every bit of it right from the start with cozy accommodations in Dragon Lodge at Yuksom after a long tiring road journey to meticulously and wisely planned trek route with enough acclimatization days and contingency plans in case of natural extremities. .
We all fellow trekkers and the trekking crew became a part of a big family. Mr Tamang and his entire team was full of warmth, modesty and hospitality.
Mr Tamang managed the whole trek with lot of professionalism with a dash of personal touch too.
He made sure every day that everyone is keeping well and enjoying the trek.
I used to love the most our post dinner briefing sessions about the next day plans laced with some sweet stories and some harsh facts about mountains and Himalayas which in a way was motivating and kept us disciplined and most importantly gave us a sense of respect towards Mother nature.
Highlight of the trek was getting a Hot cup of tea and biscuits served right at Goechala pass after the night trek in sub zero temperature with first rays of sun hitting the mighty kanchanjunga peak. What a surprise that was. “Breakfast with a view!!!!” Etched in my memories forever!!!!!

Loved the Sikkim tour plan (which was customized as per our need and wish). The range of sites, climates, landscape and altitudes was immensely rewarding. The program was intense but not overly. Always something of interest, but with enough down-time. Very well planned, and the opportunity to see quite a lot of the Sikkim. We had lovely, clean and comfortable accommodations through-out the tour and wonderful meals in home stays (specially Gangtok#Mintokling and Darjeeling#PradhanHomeStay).
We had the most remarkable family tour with Mr. Fabian Tamang and Mr. Indra Kumar Rai (#Driver). Fabian was outstanding, funny , knowledgeable, friendly, safety-conscious. My husband and I had the pleasure of visiting Darjeeling and the Singalila national park under the guidance of Mr Fabian.
We went on a six-day trek with the mountain views at Sandakphu as the main attraction. With Fabian as a guide nothing is impossible. He chooses the best co-workers, arranges Everything to the best and is very responsive to both visible and not so visible requests from his guests. We warmly recommend anyone
thinking of visiting this area to use the services of Farouttrek and especially of Fabian.

We booked a trek in North Sikkim through farout treks in the 2nd week of April,2023 and realized that we were misguided about the expected weather conditions. The trek was outsourced to third party who then tried to best salvage the situation. I Strongly suggest not to book your treks in Sikkim through this company as the owner of this company is hard to reach and refuses to answer phone calls

In continuation of what my friend shantanu singh had written about the bad experience we had with booking farout trek! We were a group of 5 friends who went to trek on the time recommendation of owner and had multiple times asked him, if the conditions were favorable or we could have postponed the same.However our trek was cut short due to misguided information on weather conditions. The element of weather may be unpredictable however when you are trekking you got to have adequate support in the form of porters or mules to carry on the tents and other trekking stuff, this support was seriously very inadequate. Secondly, the first day and second day of our camping was miss planned, when we were suppose to have lunch at the camp site, we waited very long for the vehicle to take us to the camp which was unavailable and it only after 4 pm that we were carried in vehicles to the camp site and further arrangements of Dinner was done very late by 9.30 pm as they were busy trying to arrange porters/helpers for carrying the luggage!! Next trekking day was also disturbed due to faulty cooking stove and it was only after 9.30 am that breakfast and warm water was made available at the camp site. Weather conditions , faulty stove, lack of porters were nagging issues but it was the owner of farout trek who was not picking up our repeated telephone calls and later switched off his mobile phone when we needed to talk to him the most!! As a professional tour operator when you charge something then it should be made to count, trekking arrangements cannot be made a family affair and compromised with home run vehicles. My friend Shantanu has given you three stars rating as it is only due to the good and helping nature of Mr.Dinchen & Mr.Ongey!! People should opt for reputed professional tour operators as nothing is cheap, we all plan a trip after very deep time planning, the execution of which should be relied on people who can put in experienced team to execute it!! it is not always that people would replan their trekking trip on the same trekking route!! So choose wisely and make it count!!

The tour operator Mr Fabian is not trustworthy. He did not show up for the trek. We paid a princely amount as asked by him in full advance. He delegated the trek to third party. The third party local contact conveyed the facts about harsh ground reality to Mr Fabian however he kept us in dark. Despite our asking repeatedly. We could have delayed our trek. The local contact accepted and conveyed us the facts. Days and night wasted as they couldn’t find porters. I can go on writing about his faulty or no planning. He may put the blame on local contact however the 2 stars rating is due to local contact Mr Onge and Mr Denchen who eventually tried to save his face. Don’t book a trek with him for sure. Book with experienced trek operators. Best wishes!!
