Tashiding Tourist Lodge

⚫Rooms were spacious enough for 2 people sharing. Only the door locks don't work properly and every time you open or close the main or bathroom door it shuts down with huge force and loudly. You need to close the window and doors from the balcony in the evening as insects will fly inside.
⚫Service is really good. They try their best to help you. The television was not working for no recharge. After 1 day, they recharged it.
⚫We stayed for 3 nights, and in 2 nights there was load shedding, though they have generators, but it needs time to connect and when current comes it needs another minute to reconnect.
⚫Foods are really good. A bit much costlier, but they serve a good amount which would be enough for 2.
⚫ This place is quite far from market. We visited the markets nearby by local transports, which are easily available for 20/- per person. And also you will get a reserved car from the hotel itself.
⚫Good for families specially with elder person with good walks and greenery around you.

This is a very old building which dates back to the British colonial era. It is a wooden structure with very big and spacious rooms with a big washroom, but in dire need of maintenance. We stayed in room 10 which has attached balcony and it provides a mesmerising view

Excellent experience. I stayed there in November `19. It was a memorable stay. The small but well designed old English bungalow is the main attraction. On entering the bungalow one can feel the old colonial era seeing the wooden stair, wooden lobby which has the resemblance with the bungalows of England. The ground at the back is another attraction. Mighty Himalayas can be seen from there. Ample chairs are kept over there. It is a comfortable place to drink a cup of coffee by sitting in the winter sun. The dining room is another attraction. Breakfast is complimentary and sufficient in quantity. Lunch and dinner menu is good. The preparation is also palatable. It is mentally a very soothing place to stay for one day or two as well as pocket friendly also.

Very good heritage property with excellent scenic beauty. The snow clad mountain veiw is visible from the hotel room and balcony. I would love to visit again.

A WBTDL property. An old building, carrying heritage legacy. Adjacent to the famous Morgan House. Outside the busy area of Kalimpong. You can take a shared vehicle from Kalimpong Bus Stand to here (chandralok route). Staffs are very helpful.

Tashiding is a small government Tourist Lodge in the Morgan House complex of Kalimpong. Though considerably lesser known than Morgan House, it has the same standard rooms. It has British architecture as well and has wooden floors, old wooden doors , fire places and large bathrooms. We booked the large room with terrace on the 1st floor and the small single room. The large room is complete with a terrace, a walk in closet, a large bathroom that has a separate toilet. It has spectacular views of the Kunchenjunga. The small single room is a cute one. The whole set up is cosy, well maintained and can boast of good services as well. We were served with a toiletries kit, bed room slippers, and a sanitizer mask kit. The large room is provided with a room heater as well.

Beautiful place to stay if you love old world charm. Its a nice place and the building is from british colonial era. However the building needs a lot of maintainence related to paint and bathroom fittings. Overall good stay option.

It's amazing, wonderful, breathtaking. And if you could book and stay at the 1st floor room with terrace then it would add a different level of satisfaction. You could view Kanchan across the green valley from your window and terrace. I'd stayed earlier in Morgan house and 2nd time when I visited Kalimpong again I'd booked Tashiding without knowing the location. I'd booked the 1st floor room with terrace. Once we reached there then we felt the difference. You could see full valley towards Kanchan from the Lawn and the terrace 😊. It would be nice spending 1/2 nights in Tashiding 👍

Can I ever visit Kalimpong and stay anywhere else...beats the most popular destinations...tea and breakfast every day watching the Kanchendzonga range in clear view...mesmerized...helpful friendly very decent staff went out of the way to return my Binoculars. Ever grateful.

Fantastic luxurious rooms. Service is also good. Being situated a little far from the main city of kalimpong, it offers you a picturesque scenery. If the weather is clear, you can also view the mighty Kanchenjungha

Overall excellent. Don't book the cottage, it's feel very lonely. Book the main building.

We had a beautiful view of the hills and evn Kanchenjunga from our room. The staff was courteous nd well mannered. Food was good too.

The colonial aura is splashed in every corner of this property. Adjacent to the Morgan House, this is a hidden gem.
