Shiva Garden Home Stays & Apartments

This was the best place I stayed in India. A family run guest house, basic but super clean , in a tropical environment, with a super nice garden. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Location is perfect, out of the noisy cliff but still close to the beach and with a local taste of small bars around. Close to yoga centers.

I stayed 5 days but wish I could stay more. I will certainly come back!

Staying in Shiva's garden was beautiful, it was our home for more than one month🙏🏽 Jay is an amazing host and super talented badminton player, there is a lot of space to play and create, the kitchen is really good! really nice food for really good price. Many different options for staying and the beautiful energy attracts amazing people. The location is perfect and it's a very nice atmosphere to inhabit🍈🥥🤍 Deeply thankful with this place. Full of art and murals.

Perfect stay for a boys trip.. Staff was very friendly and helped in many ways... They have kayaking also.. So can try that..

I booked for one night and I ended up staying FIVE WEEKS!

This is just what this place does! The location is amazing, the vibe is there and everyone that works and comes into this place are wonderful.

I had the little apartment with kitchen, which was amazing! Was able to host dinner with friends, and just have a good space to rest.

Everyone in Shiva Garden was always trying to help, and you can tell that they have a great heart🫶🏽

The common area is great to meet with others and you still have the privacy of your own room... Super colourful place and lots of spaces to be creative.

Beach is only 7 mins away and affordable local food 3 mins away (Kerala cafe and Juicy Cafe)

I loved Varkala and ended up spending six nights at Shiva Garden. Great location, great vibe and outdoor chill area and spot to meet people and great service and assistance by the staff, I lost count of how many times the manager in particular helped me out, including with some visa issues. A great place to kick off my India trip, couldn’t recommend enough.

Shiva Garden Homestay exceeded expectations. We were recommended this place and thought it was just because it was budget friendly. Little did we know it was also exceptionally friendly, helpful and totally full of character and peace. The communal space in the garden is gorgeous and has an array of hammocks and games. The internet is fast and reliable for working and the food is just top notch. We came for one night and stayed for nine. I genuinely felt emotional when I left saying goodbye to all the friendly smiley staff. I hadn't realised just how much i needed Shiva Garden Homestay until i arrived. I have already recommended the place to everyone I know who are visiting Varkala and will continue to do so. Beds are also super comfy! 👌

1 word describes the place: Home!
Rooms are nice, comfortable and clean and fair rate is charged but the best of the whole space is the super amazing staff, they make you feel as if you are staying at a friends house.
There is also a lot of activity in the common area, many guests from nearby homestays also go there and you can play sports or board games while enjoying the meals prepared by best chef in town Kannan :)

We visited the homestay in March , I would say it was a homely stay and could not forget the stay there since this place has got the special vibe when its in the evening with light music and they got the small play area.Staff is friendly and special thanks to Jayan ettan for hosting me and my family , all the help provided in visiting near by places at short notice and special thanks to kayaking trainer Ashokettan and guide Praveen . Shiva kayak is a must go place it was an awesome experience that too with my kid , 100 % safe and we enjoyed it a lot and would love to visit next tym . Also recommend this place to others who is looking to visit varkala cliff its just walkable distance and the rooms are very much affordable. We made many friends within short span of time during the visit. Last but not the least the breakfast was awesome , thank you from all of us 😍

Shiva Garden was a splendid experience. Stayed for a week and felt like home. Cook Kannan made some delicious food for us even when the kitchen was closed, he offered to cook for us as we were Hungry and it’s was raining bad at night. Host Naveen took absolute care of us and was friendly. The atmosphere is calm and Serene. Affordable price. Must stay at Varkala. We also went for Shiva Kayaking and it was stunning experience in the backwaters 😊Good wifi connection too.

It was a wonderful stay at Shiva Gardens Varkala. My friend suggested it here. It was a peaceful atmosphere overall. And Will come again with more friends.

I've been in Shiva Garden twice. And for my next trip in Varkala I will choose this guesthouse again. This place is pure magic. You feel like in the middle of the jungle yet it is so close to the cliff and the main beach. Lounge is great and comfortable, nice and chilled music plays time to time, you feel the vibe of freedom and acceptance. There is range of rooms: from tree huts to double bed rooms with bathroom and shower. This is the place where I met incredible people because it only attracts such. And the staff has authentic smile on their faces. Arty, chilled, well maintained. Just fantastic!

Nice ambience and very calm place to stay

Very good and affordable homestay type place. The management is very friendly and arranged us cabs for travel(to jatayu and mangrove kayaking). Rooms could have been more cleaner but its worth the price.
