Hi Singtom Tea Estate and Resort Team,

Just wanted to drop a note about our recent stay in Singtom. We really enjoyed it.

Thanks!

————-

The view of the Kanchenjunga from the resort is amazing. That could be reason enough to stay at a place like this.

The tea estate is massive and well-maintained. We visited in November. Had some great second flush Darjeeling tea of the season.

The old bungalow is charming, but could use a bit of touch-up. The new rooms in the modern wings are nice with a direct view of the Kanchenjunga.

The gardens are lovely and add to the overall vibe.

All the people running the estate and the resort made the stay more pleasant.

Had a good time overall. Looking forward to coming back.

We had a lovely stay recently at Singtom and want to thank all of the people there.

The room we stayed in had a huge amount of character, great design and views out of the mountain range.

Getting to taste the local north eastern cooking from the ever so friendly kitchen staff was a delight and Priyom could not have been more helpful and friendly in dealing with our requests and improving our stay.

Many, many thanks :)

It was a fantastic experience. Singtom Tea Estate is the oldest tea estate in the world. They have maintained the old-world charm and ensured modern facilities complement that. The team of managers including Mr. Priyom and Ms. Suparna were very helpful and courteous. We had a great time exploring the tea factory and with the tea tasting tour which Mr. Priyom took us through in great detail. The 360 point picnic breakfast that was arranged for us was one-of-a-kind.

Since this is located in the heart of tea gardens, the road leading up to the resort from Darjeeling would need a skilled driver experienced with the terrain, and I would recommend taking their car services for the same.

The food is organic and very home-style. The bouquet of unlimited teas on offer are stunning.

If you are looking for a quiet outing in a place with lots of old-time-charm, views of the Kanchenjunga and the experience of staying in a tea garden without burning a huge hole in your pockets, this is just the place!

Loved the tea tasting experience. And the property is breathtaking. We had a clear view of the Kanchanjunga from the balcony. Roads to the property are very badly damaged so reaching there is an issue. Small cars not suitable.

The oldest tea estate as it is , every corners boasts vintage and class. The kind of maintenance such properties require definitely isn’t a child’s play but the owners have done a fine job there. We really enjoyed our time at the property. Spacious Himalayan suite with big bathroom . They are coming up with new rooms with great view and more amenities and facilities so probably will renovate the washrooms of existing suites. Overall the location, the hospitality, the staff is very nice and accommodating. We played games and went for tours that the estate offers and truly enjoyed it Takes you back to the original Darjeeling . If you want to experience true essence of the culture , definitely try staying at Singtom .

My March'2023 days were beautiful under the starry sky, hill surrounded tea estate Singtom tea resort. Rooms were well maintained, delicious food, visit to the tea garden and tea factory was memorable.Entire resort tells the story of its rich heritage. My honour to meet Mr. Mohan Chirimar and listening about the history of the resort, sharing our devotion to lord Shiva will always be cherished. To whom I am known as Shiv bhakt 😇.

We had an amazing 3 nights stay here! Before arriving and during our whole stay the communication was great and staff were always helpful and accommodating. The food was delicious! All local and organic. Suparna, Madham, and Surya in particular helped to make our stay extra special. We watched workers plucking tea in the tea fields, toured the tea factory, and enjoyed a tea tasting. We have an even greater appreciation for Darjeeling tea! I would highly recommend a stay here at Singtom Tea Estate & Resort!!!

Aditi & Mohan not only opened up their "home away from home" to us but left us pining to go back soon.

Stayed in the resort for 2 Nights – 22nd and 23rd June with my wife.
Overall, a great experience and would love to come back to the place again (sometime in Oct though when its not raining and Kanchanjunga is clearly visible from the property). Things we really liked:
1. It’s located inside a tea garden far from the hustle bustle and crowd of Darjeeling main city and hence the stay was peaceful and serene.
2. The rooms while having modern facilities still gave vibes of yester years and hence gave a feeling that we were living in history.
3. The staff (specially Suparna) was very cordial and attended to all our requests. She even presented us with a bouquet of roses plucked straight form their garden as a welcome gesture.
4. The free-flowing supply of freshly made tea is an added perk.
5. The dinner (completely Veg) was extremely homely as well as tasty. While I am a hard core non vegetarian, the paneer kofta and chhole masale were to die for and for a change I didn’t miss NV.
Do note that the approach road leading up to the property is a little tipsy turvy, but then again an experienced local driver should take care of it.

I had booked myself to experience a factory visit and savour first hand a tea tasting experience at the Singtom tea estate; and the experience was nothing short of splendid. The pickup arrangement was smooth from my hotel in central Darjeeling and as luck would have favoured me, had the master himself Mr Mohan Chirimar on site to take me through the experience. After being briefed about the estate and how tea gardens function, was given the factory tour by the factory manager Mr Thakur. He was patient enough to explain me the different stages of tea making - whitering, rolling, fermenting, drying, grating and sorting along with allowing me ample time to take pictures and ask any number of questions. The machinery on display is impressive considering they have been at play for aeons.

I was then brought back to the tea tasting room where I got the opportunity to be educated by Mr Mohan about the different tricks around tea tasting. It was nothing short of eye opening or should I say tongue 'tea'sing considering it was my taste buds that was being put to test.

The cherry on the cake was the opportunity to have breakfast with the family in the estate bungalow. Mr Mohan was also kind enough to show me all the new rooms and amenities coming up, definitely tempting me to come back for a stay the next time.

All in all, a great way to spend a half day which I would any day recommend to anyone staying in Darjeeling and having an interest in gaining an understanding of tea. I for sure, wouldnt be taking my next cup of tea for granted.

I went for a day tour with my wife and baby daughter and had amazing lunch prepared by organically grown ingredients and it was a superb experience. As enthralling as it was leisurely. It's like looking back into history itself watching functional machines dating back a 100 years and plucking the delicate tea leaves from bushes as old as 150 years.
Definitely recommend the tours offered (Plucking, Tasting and Factory visit). Special thanks to Mr. Aniruddh, Mr. Tulsian and Mr. Ankit.

They also offered us pickup and drop services from our Darjeeling.

This was a rare gem we discovered by chance while looking for tea estates where we could stay overnight. 200 year old managers bungalow has been well maintained and has all amenities. The manager was extremely helpful and guided us through everything. The food was homemade on pre-order and was served on a massive dining table. Loved the breakfast organised outside in the sun. The views of the Kanchenjunga were marvellous and the area around was breathtaking. The only downside is the road to reach singtom tea estate as it is a steep climb and needs experienced driver. The place however provides its own vehicles for transfers up and down the main city. It was one of the best and most memorable experiences for our family.

I felt I stepped into an idyllic world and time. Our stay at Singtom was the perfect blend of hospitality and homeliness. The food is amazing, the place is cozy and very comfortable. The momos are flavour bombs - they are that good!
Great for people with kids, for people looking for some down time (because it's more like those vintage British cottages with 3-4 huge rooms so there are never too many people there), couples and friends.
Can't wait to return!
Heads up: It's pure vegetarian but yummy vegetarian at that - everything is home-cooked.
Thank you to the staff at Singtom for taking such good care of us!

Singtom Tea Estate and Resort is one of the best places we stayed near Darjeeling. Location wise, the place is simply great - not too far from Darjeeling, yet totally away from the crowd of Darjeeling. The best part of the place is that it is located in the middle of tea gardens with a mind-blowing view of the mountain ranges.
The hospitality we received there is simply amazing. We never felt away from home. The food was unique with a number of fusion dishes to try. And of course, there were pots of Darjeeling Tea.
The Resort provides several tours like the Factory tour, Tea Tasting Tour and Picnic with a great view of the Kanchenjunga ranges. The picnic was just perfect while the tea tasting tour opened our eyes to various types of teas. Overall, it was a great stay at Singtom Resort.
