The main attraction of the place lies in the great view the place offers. Dara in the local language means hilltop and Ahaldara offer almost a 360-degree view of surrounding mountains and hills. You can see Kurseong, Darjeeling,

Very lovely and helpful people. The location is awesome. Although the road condition is very bad to this place but once you reach there, you will feel worth it.

A couple of points which I liked very much:

1. Not expensive. It is a offbeat place in high altitude with bad roads. Still not that expensive
2. BEAUTIFUL views from the rooms (hills, rivers, tea gardens)
3. We stayed in the tent ⛺. The tent quality is VERY good. You will not have any issue if you stay in tent in the winters
4. The BBQ! ❤ Maaan, the BBQ is soooo good. HIGHLY recommend!
5. There are 3 washrooms available for those who stays in tent. No issues there.
6. Food quality is excellent!

How do you feel if the clouds are below you? How do you feel when your shadow is reflected not in any hard place but in clouds and that also when you are enjoying your nights with your friends whom you met after 5years. One can see the Kanchenjunga from the hotel room itself 😍

I just want to give you readers some of my experience , so that you have a clear concept. my visit was from Kolkata to Ahaldara and then to Kolkata , Left Kolkata on 19th Night and returned to kolkata on 23rd Jan 2023. From NJP I hired an Bike ( Royal Enfield 350) .

1. Dont Trust the You Tubers posting travel vlogs 100% . You can trust them 75 %

2. There were 3 roads to go there. If you have hired a vehicle , leave it to the drivers. I f you are self driven, use Kalijhora route and avoid Birikdar route. Kalijhora is 45 degree angle road with just 7 feet wide, with 80% of the road with hairpin bends. Kalijhora route is much better in compare to Birikdar, with just 1 km road is OFFROAD due to landslide. The other route is through kurseoung and its little lengthy, but you will enjoy the roads and views.

3. There are two main homestays A) Chamling Homestay ( which is the best in service, location and view wise.) and the other is B) Padam Gurung's " Ahaldara Guest House " Service and amenities wise I a rating it Second to Chamling Guest House. Call them directly and book them, no need of any agents.

Very nice homestay as per in view. Ahaldara is a 360 degree view spot so from here you can see full 360 view. And this home stay situated in exactly in this spot so this is the big advantage. Room and bathrooms are clean and it is also resonable.if you want you can stay in tent also. The road is not good so take care.

It's a Hill top place having excellent natural view like tea gardens, view of the Tista river, blue sky, greenish hills, and newly added well looking cottages, tents with modern facilities. Pollution free sound free calm and quiet place. Excellent heavenly and picturesquely place.

The homestay is at the top of the view point with 360 degree view.. it has both tents and cottages... Tents are beautifully positioned and one could enjoy the sight of Kanchenjunga just by sitting at the tent... There is a tea garden just beside the tents. Hospitality is pretty good.

This is just heaven on earth. Beautiful place to spend your precious time in the lap of nature, amidst mountains all around you. Literally one will have 360° view of the entire mountain range. However there are 2 problems, lack of water and as a result water is sourced manually from latpanchar and the one is obviously the road condition

Scenic beauty, calm atmosphere, one should experience night stay in the tent. Owner and other staffs are so good, their behaviour is very good as well as the food.

Its a very nice place and attractive place. During summer kanchanjunga is very much visible from this peak. Here they provide tent or cemented building to live at night and they provide lunch and dinner at a price which includes lodging also and which is very much low also.

If you want a visit a place with lot of calmness and a beautiful nature around you, then this is the place. With almost 0 connectivity of mobile network and a place filled with lot of green and insects (may be this is the time for them). Padamji was one of the best host and very respectful person of the place. Will love the view and you have good luck kanchanjangha will be at your vicinity.

Staying in Ahal Dara would be an unique experience if you are up for an adventure. The rooms and the properties are well maintained and very clean. But the service might be limited due to the same being an hilltop. But I hope you can trade off the same for breathtaking 360 degree view. Do carry waters and everything you need from downhills as there's no shop nearby. Although there's not much issue as Mr. Sherpa deploys his staffs separately for taking care of the guests at Ahal Dara

This is amazing place to stay in Ahaldara top. You will get amazing view all the day. You have to walk little bit to reach there

A wonderful getaway..With beautiful view. Staff behaviour was too good. Pathetic part is people go for picnic and for the sake of fun they have inhumanely cut down the cinchona trees for making fire, as a result the govt had to put a barricade like structure to stop people from entering and cutting of trees. Please be like HUMANS, THAT'S AN EARNEST REQUEST. ATLEAST SPARE THE HILLS AND MOUNTAINS for the sake of FUTURE.

This is same as the 360 degree Ahaldara view point Homestay. Nice place to spend one night. Seems to be within cloud and the views are mesmerising.

Ahaldara is an excellent place to chill out and enjoy the beauty of nature . U can see the 360 degree view and it is just excellent.
And the food being served there in the home stay is also too good.

They have huts, tents and big tents all type of adventure. Best place to hangout with friends.

Lovely place. You can get awesome 360 view of that place. Homes are saraounded with tea garden and hills . weather were very chilling and the place was very silent. You can enjoy your weekend there very much.
