Orion Retreat, Darjeeling

It was a very pleasant stay during my family trip. The host is very hospitable and kind. The food at property is delicious. For a peaceful stay away from the chaos the property is highly recommended.

A serene atmosphere with a wonderful home made style cuisine .

Specially I wonder how come the service staffs helped us by carrying the luggage from so down to up of the hills.

The manager Roopam was excellent and specially the lady staffs and one young guy ( don't know the name but could remember him for the animal love ) was fantastic.

Overall i can rate 4.3 out of 5.

Only to be looked upon is rooms were having some insects ( that's quite obvious being it inside the jungle ) but otherwise everything were really wonderful.

I will definitely refer my family and friends to be at your place and enjoy the beauty of nature ..

I rated the service with 4 stars, but once you visit the property, you'll understand why. Despite that, it's an absolute must-go for young people looking for a rejuvenating vacation and some quality time. Couples, in particular, will fall in love with this place. Don't miss out!

It was outstanding. It was great to staying at orion retereat ..we felt great..everything was quite impressive and food was also good as per our expectations..infuture we will try to go again ..it was fun and entertaining to be there☺🥰

It was an great experience staying at Orion Retreat.
We have stayed 3 days here, if you don't want noisy place and you like the nature then you should go here & feel the unique experience in the middle of the sonada forest.
Owner is also very well behaved.
Will go again there ❤

We stayed here from 12 to 15 th August.
If you have no physical problem i.e knee or ankle issues, then go for premium. Among six cottages, three are premium. We two couples stayed at most secluded cottages, the last of all six, with wall sized glass window.
Caretaker has tried best to give it a rusty look with wooden panelling, beautiful British era bunglow type cottages with red bricks and yellow warm lights.
One issue is, you have to climb approx 100 stairs to have lunch or dinner.

This was the most amazing place we stayed during the Darjeeling trip. With what an excellent view. Never imagined we would find rainforest (it was raining) feeling in mountains. Just a few tweaks in rooms and food quality this place will be the hottest property in that town... We loved it and hope to go there soon

I had the most enchanting experience at this homestay during the monsoon season. The lush green surroundings transformed into a breathtaking paradise of vibrant colors and glistening raindrops. The monsoon enhanced the natural beauty of the area, making it a photographer's dream. The homestay's thoughtful design allowed us to enjoy this spectacle comfortably, with cozy verandas and large windows offering uninterrupted views. Also the owner is very kind, helpful. I don't even have the words to explain how awesome and how exceptional services were provided by the team, prompt service in everything, be it food or anything you need, the hotel staff's behaviour was very very very much sweet. I felt like I was staying in my home. Food quality exceptional. Location perfect. The cook here suggested his special and we ordered that and beleive me i haven't enjoyed this type of food in my whole life. I will definitely recommend this place to all my friends. Food prices are very much good under budget.

Beautiful place, located in the lap of nature, the rooms were nice and clean. The best part is, their service. They're very professional, friendly, helpful and they say "no" to nothing. We had a wonderful experience staying there and can't wait to visit again.

Great experience / Away from the hustle and bustle of the city/ Close to Goethals Memorial School.
Despite being in a wheelchair, Management was very supportive.
It was really nice meeting our host Mr. Vicky and Mr. Rupam, the owner of Orion Retreat.

This place Orion Retreat is won my heart ... The continuous sound of rainbow waterfalls and chirping of various birds increase the value of this place million times..
Rooms are pretty big for a jungle wood house , the people there are very pure soul ... The host is so humble and a very good person.. I might say great artist he is .. In the evening he and his guitar give more salt to the ambience ❤
And last but not the least the chef Rahul .. This man knows magic ... Me and my wife we travel a lot in north bengal, lots of famous restaurants and homestays we had experienced ... But here from tea- coffee to basic butter panner everything is so tremendously delicious 😋 in two days of our stay we had roti chicken curry , mixed fried rice , bread omlette, roti butter panner and last day in breakfast puri alu curry , everything is so unique and so tasty .. hats off to Rahul ❤

For those who seek for aesthetic feel of nature with a forest ambience also a foodie like me should definitely visit this place ..

This stay feels like home in the lap of Nature ! The peeps are brilliant and moreover the food is super authentic genuine good food! If you like nature , wildlife and good extramind boggling adventure this is the place! It is a place for the wild and solitary peaceful location! One thing the environment vibes are very positive!

Located in the midst of a mountain jungle, orion retreat makes you forget the outside world for a good amount of time.some of the things I liked are lovely owner and staff(didi haru), good food, very easy to reach.I basically liked everything😅😅.I hope to return orion soon in the near future.
