Ganesh Mandir is formely know as "Tekdi",because of its location. Since you need to walk up a hill to approach the temple and since tekdi means hill in Marathi. Thus the temple derives its present name.
Though a lot of Nagpurkars believe that the temple is one of the oldest around, that is in fact a big myth. Though the idol of the lord Ganesha is very old, the temple dates back to the recent 1970s.
In Navratri Festival the temple is crowded for 9 Nights, because beside the Durga Mata Temple is joint temple lots of pepople came and enjoy the Garbha.

This Ganesha Temple is inside the Sitabuldi Fort area. The surrounding is peaceful and gives positive energy.

Nice place to visit. But this temple is located in the contonment area at defance land so it is may be not for civilians. Moreover it is really to beautiful there is a open ground with stone wall 🧱. It's really impressive to visit. You can play there cricket 🏏 and many mor games. Thank you for your time and consideration.
