Really powerful goddess.Please observe the goddess eyes for a minute or so to understand its true power. Stay at the middle and look into the eyes of the diety( no mental disturbance or bodily disturbance at that time). After that you will feel a calmness inside your brain. The sea sand is really good to walk. I liked the temple so much.The firework explosion and death toll made this temple a popular one.Please visit this temple if you alight at paravur railway station or private bus station. Walkable distance from both station.The girls from this part of kollam are really beautiful.I think these people in paravur worship goddesses more than God. Two famous temples are situated within five km radius both are goddess. The other temple nearby is Pozhikara Devi temple which is three or four kilometres away from this temple.

One of the famous devi temples in kerala. Popular for its fireworks. On 10 April 2016 an unfortunate accident happened during the fireworks results in the death of 110 civilians . I still remember that night . I was there . However people recovered from that incident.

Fireworks related to temple festival is custom and very common in Kerala. Need not stop this. But should carried out as per rules and norms. Purely the responsible are temple authorities and police.Police should stop the activity as no permission was granted.

The place where Puttingal temple is located was an idyllic forest centuries ago. Once Puttingal Devi and sisters of the goddess arrived here at a journey. The thirsty goddess was greeted with coconut water to drink from the untouchable caste. Due to this reason goddess sisters left her here.

After that the abandoned god stayed in an Ant Hill (Puttu) here. After long time a woman's sickle wore grass in this Ant hill and it start bleeding and later known the presence of Devi here.
