Wonderful escape. Be there in evening. Sunset is a good experience. Good light and sound show. Good boating facilities. Good place to shoot sunset pictures. Good cafe Mugs for Buds. Must visit there. Great tea coffee options. Wonderful sandwiches too. Keep aside 2 two hours, lazy walks, music, sunset, light sound show.

It's such a beautiful seasonal lake with pleasant views of lake-side architecture. It used to be the rest area in olden times. If you're visiting Jaisalmer, it's a very popular and must visit place.

You can enjoy street shopping here, as well as boating. Padal boat for 2 people costs 300 rs. Parking is 60 rs, though no proper parking arrangements as such abd you're om your own.

One of my favourite places in Jaisalmer. I'd definitely recommend the boat ride and the light show at Gadisar lake. The best time to start the boat ride is 5:20pm to take the best sunset pictures. The light show starts at 6:30 and lasts for 30 minutes. You can then visit the Desert museum (only 300 meters away) to watch a beautiful puppet show from 7:30 to 8:30pm.

Sunset time is best time to visit this place, You can go boating in the lake or simply enjoy a walk around the embankment. If winter is your time of visit, you might just be lucky enough to see beautiful exotic migratory birds flocking in and around the lake.

The architecture of Gadsisar lake was simply magnificent with the carved verandahs and halls.Once this lake filled up with rainwater, the excess water used to flow to the nine smaller lakes and filled them up.
Gardisar lake is one of the great water source used by jaisalmer peoples. Gadisar Lake was built as a reservoir by the then ruler Raja Rawal Jaisal. He was the first king of the state and city of Jaisalmer. the lake was dug up to make up for the aridity of the region. Its a beautiful view.
