One of Nature's small gift in form of a small hill station to all the dwellers of concrete jungle. A pollution free place with fresh air. During rains it's all green as far as you can see.

Visit it during rains it's the best time.
Even in winter it's okay to visit.
A bike ride on its ghat is a memorable.
Toy train is also something that you won't get easily elsewhere, they don't operate it during rains as far as I know.

Now coming to issues with this place, avoid horse wale bhaiyas...they are there to fool people. Everyone will try to rob you out :) people say locals are innocent i seriously don't agree on this.

There is no stable cell phone network at this, so mind that. If you really want to cut yourself from outside world than stay here for a few days.

If you are planning to visiting this place on 2 wheeler, get your bike serviced before the ride.

Popular as a one day picnic spot. But it's better to spend atleast 2 days if you really wish to get soaked in its natural beauty. It's an all season tourist spot ideal for every age group.

Matheran, a charming hill station, is a paradise for nature enthusiasts. I was captivated by its tranquil beauty and clean, pollution-free environment. What I like about this place is, that no vehicles are allowed within the town. Additionally, no cellular network is available. So you can have freedom from any disturbance. The toy train rides, which takes you up the hill, offers breathtaking views of lush greenery and the valley below.

We stay here for 3 days, and it's highly recommended to be here for at least 2 days. Because, this is dotted with numerous viewpoints like Panorama Point, Monkey Point, and Louisa Point, each offering a unique perspective of the surrounding landscape. Exploring the dense forests and meandering pathways on foot or horseback is a serene and rejuvenating experience.

Matheran's delightful climate, fresh air, and the warm hospitality of the locals make it an ideal getaway. This quaint hill station is a perfect escape from bustling city life, offering tranquility and natural beauty that left a lasting impression.

The best season is monsoon and still, not much crowded. The perfect hill station point is the Panorama Point which includes Jungle Trekking of more than 2 kilometers. this can be an unforgettable trip with your family and friends.

This place is quite beautiful and scenic during monsoon season. Summer season is not at all recommended for the destination to enjoy, one will be roasted under scorching heat. During monsoon season one can buy use and throw / one time raincoats for rs 60(thin plastic) and rs 150(better quality plastic but half sleeves). Rest, one can get to listen to a variety of birds like the whistling bird.
Train timings are to be confirmed before hand as only 2 trains run during the day in the morning. Trains can be avoided in the monsoon season as the tracks may be blocked due to fallen tree trunks so better to enjoy the scenic routes walking.

I visited Matheran twice at 8 years interval, but one thing that is still the same is it's nature. It still remains so refreshing and Greeny, all due to the Restriction of vehicles on the hill station. As the vehicles are not allowed, there's zero pollution on this Hill station which is the main plus point of this Hill station and which makes it more beautiful than other hill stations like Mahabaleshwar and Saputara. Also the roads are also improved a lot which makes it easier to walk to different points.♥♥

Great place for some quite time. You may have to walk the whole part but it's definitely worth it. Food etc is a bit costly but that's understandable considering the difficulty in transportation. It's difficult to get tickets for the toy train, only 90 class tickets per train. Better take the taxies outside Neral stn.

Jannat hai toh yaha hai.... Max Mueller
This saying goes cent% with the Queen of Hill station called as Matheran in Maharashtra, India.

Nestled in the deep pockets of Sahyadri it's home to Mountain Railways 🛤 one of the only narrow Gauges in India.

The serenity this hill station comes with is a perfect place for outing for people from Nasik Poona and Bombay as Matheran lies in between these 3 Megatowns.

There are atleast 20+ sites that are worth seeing. So a day stay is required to enjoy the climate of this place. Checkins are available even at cheap rates if bargained.

Stay Healthy Enjoy this place. Thanks.
