It is ancient temple equal to Meenakshi Amman temple. Located very close to Meenakshi Amman temple. You can reach the temple through auto. The main speciality of this temple is that lord shiva made a shiva lingam and he himself performed a pooja for it.here the moolavar will have a lingam facing lord shiva and Parvati in sitting posture. Very calm temple. Also there is a custom for bhairavar. Pray what you want and insert three lemons in the soolam near bhairavar.

Awesome temple , nearby madurai meenastchi Amman temple. Walkable distance . Gurukal is so friendly and gives blessed Pooja .. most important thing , the flower shop in the entrance of the temple's flowers are so reasonably priced. Inside agal deepam is costlier , so better bring your own deepam items. Gurukals are not demanding the money(datchanai) and they allow inside the mandir for parigaram or special Pooja.

Peaceful place , lot of spacious area to sit and meditate . Definitely will get lord shiva's blessings .

Used to visit here for every Pradhosam and wait from 4:30 to 6pm. After the alangaram to the lingam with 10 rupees ticket you're allowed inside and can see the lingam very close and if you're visiting here try to get ticket and watch it very closer. The vibe and showcase gives you deep silence.

Its a holy place god siva doing pooja for sivalingam with mathyapuri amman for world welfare. Temple is under sivagangai samasthanam control. Everyday 11am to 12.30pm anna thanam is going.

One of the oldest temple of madurai. This is a lord shiva temple. Here lord shiva is in the form of a idol rather than linga. Sivalinga is in front of the statue. Temple is situated very near to periyar busstand. Very congested. No parking place. Have to park in the road very far. Very nice experience. Very peaceful.
