This place is absolutely splendid..we went in the last week of April month but due to the Greenery in abundance it was very pleasant. This place doesn't have any air conditioner, only air coolers are available however one won't feel it's absence at all even in summer. It is situated just beside Ajoy river with breath taking view where one can take a boat ride in the evening. The people running the property are very courteous, accommodating & takes great care of the guests. However please don't expect service like hotels as this is a homestay with all basic amenities. We did not like taste of the food much. Highly recommended for nature & peace lovers, would love to visit again in winter may be

Aruni is a gem nestled in a beautiful and tranquil setting along the Ajay River. It's an ideal location to connect with the environment and recharge mentally and spiritually. I'm an American entrepreneur with a small team based in Kolkata. We were seeking a perfect place to bond as a team and find inspiration from nature. At Aruni. we found this place and so much more. The food, the grounds and flora, indigenous entertainment and little surprises that greet you as you stroll along the paths are all wonderful. I’ll call out the staff for making us feel welcome and nurtured. In the mornings we were greeted with herbal tea delivered to our cottages. In the evenings, we enjoyed authentic local food and lively conversations. I’d especially like to recognize the founder, Dr. S. Poddar, for taking me under his wing and briefly lifting me out of my Western mindset. During several guided meditation sessions, I was introduced to the wisdom of Yoga Gurus and learned to quiet my mind with breathing exercises. As I write this back in Colorado USA, I already yearn to return.

We had a memorable stay at the Aruni Spitual Ashram during Joydev Kenduli mela. Location of the ashram right on the bank of Ajoy River was spectacular. Ambiance of the ashram was most peaceful and behavior of the supporting people was extraordinary. This is an ideal place to spend a few days in peace and tranquility. I intend to visit this place every year.

To get away from the cacophony of the city one can visit Aruni. A very peaceful and comfortable place to enjoy ,to rest. Specious having nicely maintained garden with colourful flowers. Cottages with different art and names. Amazed by the well planned design of the property.The staff is super friendly and serves with smile. All over a place worth going again.

People who want to spend a day or two with nature, I recommend them to visit this place and enjoy its tranquility. The courteous behaviour of all the staff, the quality of food served are added attractions for visiting this place. Spent two days with family here. Looking forward to another visit at a different time of the year.

Aruni is my second home, I always get positive energy and lot of self confidence from this place. I do visit frequently energies myself. The ambience is very homely and all the staffs are just like my family member. Dr.Poddar is my Guru and the solution provider of my every problem. Must visit Aruni and feel the Nature.

An awesome place to stay for nature lovers. 🌿🍃 wonderfully surrounded by different flowers and trees. Mud huts will bring a feeling of village environment. Food is too tasty. Staffs are very friendly and well behaved. Service is also good

One of the best offbeat place. Just 180 km from kolkata. Those who are like the peaceful place for spent quality time with family then this is the best place for them. I have visited many offbeat places but this is one of the best village resort I had visited till now. Stuff behavior, food quality, ambiance everything is good.

A pretty ,rustic,artistically done up ,pet friendly ashram.Serene where you can easily connect with your inner self.Huge area where your pet can have a wonderful time.The staff were so welcoming and caring and being a Bengali I loved the tasty food which the cook made on open fire.

Here both veg and non veg meals are provided by them as per your choice.
Food quality and hospitality are excellent.
All the personnels at the Ashram are very courteous and helpful. You will feel very much like home during your stay there.

Awesome weekend escape from the pollution, sound and crowd of the city. Enjoy absolute peace of mind amidst the nature with a soothing view of the river front. All the people and staffs are very polite, helpful and accomodating. Only 4 cottages are available so please make sure to book your stay in advance. Would definitely come back soon.

After a day do day busy and hectic schedule if someone wants a relax and peaceful weekend then Aruni Spiritual Ashram would be a great place,connect with nature. The room facilities and staffs are very good. Food quality is excellent.

We visited this place en route to Shantiniketan and it was worth the stay. They charged 1.4k per person including food for a day. This place is quite far from the main attractions but better than all the nearby options available. The greenery, rustic huts, nearby river adds to the mesmerising experience. They even provide cooler in rooms but you won't require it much. We even arranged for a private baul gaan session which was charged 1.7k. Traditional Bengali song in the middle of a jungle at night with a drink really made our day. The care taker Pandey ji and others are really very coordinating and give you individual attention. Only issue seems power cuts but since the weather is so good you will hardly notice it.

Scene, Location, Accommodation, Foods was awesome. All the other things we did there are memorable. The Spritual session given by the Dr. S. Poddar, and Spa was awesome. Ashram was arranged some local folk singers (Baul Daal) to perform Baul in the evening, and We enjoyed it lots.

If searching for solace in the lap of mother nature,then this is the place. Located in the bank of Ajay river near Joydeb, about 35 kms from Durgapur, the steel city of West Bengal. Fusion of modern amenities keeping the nature in its original form. There are availability of beautiful traditional cottages and tent houses. Food is delicious as its cooked in the traditional way in mud oven and spiced with hand grounded spices. Additionaly enhanced with the traditional folk dance and Baaul sangeet. A must visit for a short trip.

Beautiful tranquility in the lap of nature. Peaceful ambience, very well maintained property away from the hustle of city life. Staffs are extremely hospitable and very well behaved.

Very beautiful place to stay with family and friend, enjoy the "ajay nad" and nature. Must visit some temple situated nereby and natural beauty of jungle. Enjoy the bank of ajoy specially at late night with barbecue. Please meet "SOREN", amazing jungle boy and take him as a guide if possible. In total a great experience.
