Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary

Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary is a superb place, blending with nature—hills, lakes, forests, and parks. The boating from Wildlife Santuary to Deer Park was great! You can take a small walk inside the forest to reach the deer rehab park. There is plenty of space for kids, family, and friends. The crocadile park could be improved more to attract tourists! One thing that we missed was the lion safari, as new lions are yet to reach!

Neyyar wildlife Sanctuary It's a good place for one day trip with family and children's. In this Sanctuary they have a lion Safari park, Deer and Crocodile rehabilitation center. Boating has good experience with proper safety measures.

Best place for weekend trip. You will get a ticket 2500/- for 5 people. Which include boating, crocodile park and dear park. All staffs are friendly and helpful. Small snacks counter available. Renovation work is going on.

This place is complete trekking type with a small landscape. With kids it’s quite interesting place, they will have a good experience and exploring elephants life . Plan early to travel as you can see bathing of elephants.
Every elephants are maintained independently and separately.
Deers are another spotting place with huge counts . Good picnic spot with family

It's really a great experience and a must visit place if you wish to spend some good time with your family or your partner.

Not many staff around, except at the ticket counters.
The premises are well constructed, due to which they stay in good shape despite lack of maintenance.
The snack bar is very friendly and have fair prices, and also doubles up as onofficial information counter.

Beautiful place to relax in your weekends. The dam built across river Neyyar is small. They've built a garden adjacent to the dam. You can take a trip around the nearest island in motorboats. The lion safari was not open to the public. Aquarium has good collection of variety of fishes. But the crocodile park is not worth the visit. It's a pity that those poor alligators are surviving in such pathetic condition. I wish those alligators are let free into their natural habitat so that they can live a carefree life. I wish the forest officials consider this notice and take action.

It was an adventurous trekking experience leads to a beautiful waterfall.

Best tourist spot in the area good sceneries and boating deer park crocodile park and aquarium much more to visit neyyardam and also India's first lion safari park is here but all lion's passed away 😔 .

There is a KTDC restaurant as well with a medium pricing.A good picnic spot with childrens park,aquarium,and a good view.

Scenic nature and a nicely maintained place. Good place to be with family. The boating experience was nice. Employees were well informed and friendly. The route leading to the place also is nice.

One of the best place for site seeing , and boating , boating cost ₹ 600 for 20 mins and 900 for 30 mins . View of dam and boating inside the dam is too good. Lion safari is not worth as there is only one lion left. Crocodile rehabilitation site is a good option to see few crocodile. Too see the animals boating will be ideal at morning.

This is one of the beautiful wildlife sanctuary in kerala. It is beautiful not because of its diverse species but because of mode of travelling. One can only find lion, crocodile and monkey here, but to enjoy it one needs to travel by way of boat, bus, and walking

A very calm and quite place. We have to cross the dam to visit the Nayyr wild life sanctuary. So took tickets from the counter. Set off a boat to Lion Safari park which was on an island. Once we reached there we were transferred to a bus and we started in search of Lions. After a ride of 20 minutes in the bus we found a Lion lying inside the forest. We were sitting inside the bus taking photos of the Lion and the bus driver making sounds so that the we could see the Lion clearly. And then straight back to the boat , then to a crocodile farm and then to a deer farm. Then back to the boat to reach back from the island. Just a one day trip to view the dam and the animal sanctuary. It's well worth a visit, not more than oneYou need to take the specially made vehicle run by forest department or by boat ( speed / normal ) and enjoy the safari inside coach ...you can see the Asiatic lion very close while you are inside the coach.they are very used to these type of trips so they just ignore.only thing to be careful is to be silent while inside the closed enclosure and enjoy the company with the wild....basic amenities are there but you would cherish the memory for long in ones life ....we can see the crocodile park and the deer park which too needs more attention from authorities

Neyyar dam is a gravity dam on the Neyyar River in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala, South India, located on the foot of the Western Ghats about 30 km from Thiruvananthapuram.[1] It was established in 1958 and is a popular picnic spot.Neyyar 2nd State (relates to both Madras and Kerala States) Government of Kerala started work on the project in their area in October 1956.The Neyyar Dam is a rubble masonry gravity-type dam with a height of 56 m (184 ft) and length of 295 m (968 ft). Its structural volume is 105,000 m3 (3,708,040 cu ft). The dam creates a reservoir of 106,200,000 m3 (86,098 acre⋅ft) of which 101,000,000 m3 (81,882 acre⋅ft) is active (useful) capacity. The reservoir's surface area is 91 km2 (35 sq mi) and the dam's spillway has an 809.40 m3/s (28,584 cu ft/s) maximum discharge capacity.Wild life includes gaur, sloth bear, Nilgiri Tahr, jungle cat and Nilgiri langur, wild elephants and sambar deer.
