Cloud Farm Munnar

Cloud Farm is that place which is not to be missed if you are visiting Munnar. It is basically a camping site where they provide you with a good experience of staying in tents where you can spend some quality time in harmony with the nature.

The hosts will guide you all throughout the trekking of about 1.5 hours to reach the camping sites while taking us through an amazing sunset view point. The whole team's hospitality is much appreciable.

There are two main highlights in the whole trip to Cloud farm..one being the calm and peaceful open air night view of the whole place and the amazing star gazing experience you get by just stepping out of your tents..The other one being the early morning sunrise trek..the most beautiful sunrise view you get amidst of the farm of clouds in the sky after trekking for about half an hour will give you an inner feeling that your trip was truly worthy.

They don't provide much options for food but with their limited facilities they prepare the food inhouse and provide us with a decent dinner and breakfast for the next day morning. Barbecue grills and campfire will be provided on prior requests.

Washroom facilities are provided commonly for all the 7-8 tents they have but are well maintained.

On the whole, if you are a person who loves to have a peaceful getaway from your busy lives and that too aligning with nature, Cloud farm is highly recommended!

A stunningly beautiful property that lives up to it's name! A was greeted with a gorgeous sunrise in the morning, while surrounded by a sea of clouds. Also an amazing spot for wildlife, especially lovers of reptiles and amphibians! Highly recommended!!

It is a perfect weekend getaway, i like how the camp is kept really clean and i found the hosts really respect the nature. There is a medium trek to camp and takes 1 - 1.5 hours.

I had an amazing one-day stay at Cloud Farm Camping in Munnar. The place is a hidden gem with stunning views of nature. It's super clean and well-maintained, and the weather is fantastic. Whether you love nature or just want a peaceful getaway, Cloud Farm is perfect. I highly recommend it for a memorable stay in the heart of Munnar!

Good place to enjoy camp fire with perfect climate and ambiance. Excellent staff with wonderful hospitality and food. Has activities like trekking, hiking and bird watching. The staff showed us so much kindness from the moment we drove up to the property. The sunset, sunrise and cloud beds will steal everyone’s heart. Definitely recommendable.

Trekking is a bit difficult, especially for the elderly and overweight people. But, once you reach the top, It's amazing!

I don't have words to explain the feeling! It's a magical place. and amazing how they have arranged everything. Felt like walking into the clouds. The dew drops were falling like a mild shower.

The food was good, a bit delayed but was good. They had arranged the campfire. Everyone seemed happy and was dancing around!

The tent stay was okay as they had provided the sleeping bags. The night was so windy and misty.

Will recommend it to anyone and everyone, who is ready to hike. I will visit again next time for 2-3 days if they allow that.

Cons - I felt like I didn't get enough time to spend there. 3 pm we reached Yella petty and started trekking, almost we got to the top around 5.30. Then the next morning at 11.00 am we have to trek down!

Viswa bhai and Ragul one of the best hosts and super friendly.

prepare for leeches if it’s rainy season. Bring powerbanks as there will be no power too.

There won’t be any shops for liquor, if you want better buy from munnar and come 👍🏻

Not a trekking site. (Easy Trek only)

TREKKING
Amazing views of tea plantation and local farming while trekking. A total stretch of 3.5 kms walk from Yellapatty post to cloudfarm and my 4yr boy could walk comfortably.

STAY
🏕 comfortable stay for a family in tent, personal sleeping bags are provided. It gets very cold at night; restring in tent will keep you warm, toilets are well maintained, relax yourself at camp fire🔥, Dinner and breakfast are served and ample times of lemon tea. Left side tents are the best to get magnificent views.

THINGS TO CARRY
Hiking boots, water bottle, torch, thermals during winter, Battery Power Bank and snacks.

Best staycation so far. Even though the trek was tiring and full of leach bites, the view from the top was truly mesmerizing. As someone once said, the harder the climb the better the view.

The guides were all friendly, the food was homely and the lemon tea was pure love. We went on a rainy day on Thursday. It was just 6 of us, and the experience was something to cherish forever. We were lucky to have seen clouds fall on the morning trek.

As for me, I can't wait for my next visit to this little piece of paradise.

I started my backpacking and camping trip at Cloudfarm back in 2018. I have been around India, and Cloudfarm remains the BEST place ever! The view and the clouds up there are breathtaking! Also the best place for all the stargazing enthusiasts!

It is just an hour from the Munnar bus stand, and start a small hike to reach up there. The lush green mountains and the tea plantations on the way just add up to the beauty!

The staff members are helpful, courteous and extremely friendly. I have been to Cloudfarm thrice, and every time being the only vegetarian person around, they make delicious, scrumptious food, especially for me! The "Kattan Chaya" is always available, and you can sip on it while looking at the beautiful scenery. The place is decorated with pretty dreamcatchers and some upcycled material decor giving it an aesthetical look.

It has grown exponentially over these years and has maintained its quality like new. If you are in or around Kerala, take some time off and visit this place!

One of the memorable short treks that i did along with my family in Munnar. its about 60 min-90 min trek. the temperature was freezing cold in October. the campside was well maintained by 1-2 staff/trek members. the early morning view is to die for at 5.30 am in the morning.

WARNING!!!

If you're looking for a place to relax and get out of the hustle life of a city then this is one of the best places to go.

You'll have to park your vehicle near small local shops and the trek starts at about 3:00 pm. You start by walking through tea plantations and then start the climb. I would consider this trek of approx 1.5 hours to be moderately difficult. The guides are patient and will be with you the entire way. Its most likely you'll be trekking with a group. Certain places are quiet steep and will require you to catch your breath after. But if you're fit and trek regularly then it'll be a piece of cake. Basically you'll start your trek in Kerala and end up crossing the border to Tamil Nadu.
Also an important point to note is carrying leech socks as there are lot of leeches along the trek if the trail is damp.

On reaching the campsite, you are welcomed with an amazing view of mountains on Three sides and a valley in front. The campsite can accommodate around 30 people and the tents are usually the ones you find in decathlon. You get two sharing and three sharing tents with personal sleeping bags. It tends to get cold in the night if you go in winter.

Late in the evening there'll be a campfire and barbecue on prior booking (separate), tea will be offered and night dinner will be served. The food is good considering the limited availability of a proper kitchen. There was both veg and non veg options.

If you're a stargazer, this is an amazing place to be. I'll attach couple of astrophotography shots I clicked on my phone.

There'll be a trek early in the morning to see the sunrise. Its a 25 mins trek which will be easier than the previous one. The trek starts at 5:30 am (might vary depending on sunrise time). Its advisable to carry torch while trekking in the morning as it'll be dark. The sunrise point will leave you speechless. Though this is optional, I recommend you to go for it.

Then you come back to camp for breakfast and chill for a while before heading back down by 11:00 am.

All in all this place is a must visit place.

Its an amazing place to get refreshed. Almost 4km trekking from Yellapetty post office. Stay for only limited number of people. Camp stay along with good food(breakfast and dinner) and camp fire.

Loved this place. Must visit if you want to try a short trek. They take you for sunset and sunrise trek. The sunrise one is just amazing with a beautiful view. Food is great and the tent setup is also nice. Bonfire is included which is a plus point. Washrooms need a bit of maintenance but that can be forgiven given the location reach issues. Add it to your list if you are visiting munnar.

Really a highly suggested place! Great location, nested between two mountain tops, just being on top has such a special feeling! Great staff, who help us & guide us with everything! Nice homely food, well equipped tents, toilets etc! They have two beautiful treks, one sunset the other sunrise! You have a small trek which everyone needs to do to reach this property! Overall a really great experience!
