I stayed here during Rishikesh trip in Apr 2023. I was looking for place where I can work while enjoying my Yoga stay in city. This place was perfect for same. They have good wifi fiber connection with battery backup option available which was must for taking official work and meetings. Location is good, I explore near by places by renting 2 wheeler from here. Both host are co-operative, courteous and reliable and helped me during my stay. For food, they have small kitchen where u can get food of ur choice, there are nearby restaurants available too.

A great place to stay if you are looking for peace and quiet. A rooftop cafe with food and drink on demand or there are many cafes close by in easy walking distance.
Motorbike tours and treks can be arranged and it’s a good place to stay if you are a biker yourself since the owners are also bike enthusiasts.
Suited me perfectly. Highly recommended.

One of the best places to stay for both long and short term in Tapovan area, Rishikesh. The place is centrally located in very close vicinity to the ghat and all the known areas and cafes to explore. The rooms are very comfortable and clean with all required amenities and the meals are very simple and flavourful. The cherry on the top is the host Vikas, a very humble and gentle fellow who goes above and beyond his duties to make it a wonderful stay for you. Strongly recommend to everyone visiting Rishikesh.

If you want a stay in the heart of tapovan this is the place. Nice rooms, AC and a beautiful rooftop cafe with awesome food. But the main reason to visit here is the staff - they are all incredible and make sure to ask about their motorbike tours/trekking tours. Trust me they are absolutely brilliant. I cannot recommend this place nor the team enough!!

Nice comfy place with nice supportive staff. Leo (their dog) is the highlight of the place. They organise live shows at their rooftop cafe occasionally on weekends. Food is amazing. Especially their "humus pita plate".. would recommend to anyone looking for a comfy and relaxing stay..

Great place. The place and staff made the stay not just comfortable but also pleasant and provided home like environment. The mountain view was awesome. Staff ever ready for any kind of help or support. Very humble and caring like a family.

I had the opportunity to stay at Smart Rooms in Tapovan, Rishikesh, and couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay, especially in the peak holiday season when Rishikesh is brimming with tourists. Away from the bustle and chaos of the main road, the homestay is located in a quiet area, perfect to enjoy the serene surroundings away from the crowds. The Lakshman Jhula ghat is just about 5 minutes walk away from the property, and is much, much quieter than the other public ghats in the town. This is an ideal place to enjoy the river and the quiet surroundings. Smart Rooms has its in-house rooftop café serving on-demand food. This apart, the property offers convenient access to some great cafes and yoga centers and so is ideal for those looking for an affordable detox break. The property is hosted by Vikas, who along with his team, offers impeccable, friendly services and goes the extra mile to make the stay memorable and comfortable. He also owns an additional property by the name of Wild Mountains in Kyari village which provides convenient access to some quaint waterfalls, and is ideal to watch the sunsets and enjoy village life. I had initially booked for Wild Mountains but due to change in plans Vikas very graciously accommodated me at Smart Rooms. I would definitely recommend Smart Rooms for great location, decent clean rooms, good food and extremely discreet yet courteous services.

This place feels like home! Warm and personal atmosphere, nice clean rooms with all you need, calm and cozy rooftop with view over mountains and THE best warm hearted, service minded humans (and dog) always there to help you with just Anything. Thank you Smartrooms for some weeks that could not have turned out any better.

1. Food : it is actually super super good, indian, chinese, continental everything is superb...best part, they understand & listen to your customisation request & make it accordingly. Need to wait for sometime since everything is fresh. We had food at 4-5 different places in Rishikesh but nothing could beat this.
2. Pricing: Very apt, owner was kind enough not to overcharge even when 95% of town was already booked.
3. Location: Located in Tapovan area, which is after Rishikesh town but most homestays/long term stays are located in this side & hence good. Lots of shops & market area within walking distance. Walk for apprx 1 km to catch the sharing Autos to main Rishikesh town side. Since it doesn't have lift & also the area is hilly, not recommended for adults with walking difficulty.
4. Parking: Basically on the open vacant plot opposite hotel, seems secure since it's a dead end.
5. Rooms : Rooms are good, ample space, TV, geyser etc, only downside is they don't have any views but Terrace cafe/restaurant has decent open space to chill.
6. Service: Service is good with overstatement..they deliver what they promise.

Overall 10/10 experience with no downsides... definitely recommended

Smartrooms is great value for money stay. This property is at perfect location near laxman jhula, and at walking distance fro Tapovan/Sai ghat. The place is great, neat and clean. Very food place for people who are looking for long stay options. They have high speed wifi, power backup.

About host and staff:
The host Vikas is incredible host. He made sure I had everything sorted. His expert local knowledge helped in deciding what to do, where to eat, how to go. He also booked my activities in Rishikesh, arranged cabs for me whenever I wanted o travel outside Rishikesh for day trip. He accompanied us for Kunjapuri trek, made sure we get to see all the peaks that are visible from temple.
Their staff is very friendly, especially their chef. He cooks very good food, takes our recommendation in consideration. If you are planning to stay here for long period you can rely on his cooking skills.

Overall this has been very good experience for me. I have spent 3 wees here and I would not be exaggerating if I say this are the best 3 weeks of the year for me. Already planning next trip here.

We recently stayed at Smart Rooms in Rishikesh and had a wonderful experience. We stayed here for four days before starting our Yoga Teacher Training course and it was the perfect place to settle into Rishikesh. The room itself was comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. But what really stood out to me was the hospitality of the staff. Ashish and Vikas were always available to answer any questions we had and helped us navigate Tapovan!

Thanks for having us over ! My heart was deeply touched beyond words by the extent of your warm welcome and hospitality. I never had any boring moments throughout my stay at your cafe. It even got to a point that I was asking myself whether I was actually a guest or a member of your family. smartrooms is at a perfect location, very easy to get around with public transportation and walking distance to awesome cafes and ganga ghat. the place is great, rooms are very clean and has everything you need. Ashish was also very helpful since the beginning, available at all times whenever we had any questions. they have their own roof top cafe with the beautiful view . Leo (puppy) was so friendly with everyone. still can't get over his cuteness 😅

I stayed at Smart Rooms for three weeks in October 2022. It is a small, well kept hotel run by Ashish and friends. It is centrally situated on a quiet street i Lower Tapovan and a perfect base if you want to spend some time in and around Rishikesh. The atmosphere at the hotel is very friendly and welcoming and there is a nice rooftop restaurant that serves fresh and healthy food. Since the manager has vast experiences as an adventure tour operator in Himalayas, you also get very good and relyable advice of things to do while in Uttarakand. I'm already planning my return trip!

Ashish was amazing! Never a hesitation to help with requests. Room was good size and modern and COMFY mattress (hard to find in India!) nice quiet are of Tapo which has become noisy with the increased crowds. Easy walking distance to town, main road and restaurants. Rooftop restaurant has good view and lots of charm that comes with being a family run place, not some impersonal chain. This felt like home,

I was looking for a cozy place to celebrate my birthday with my friends. So I chose Smart Rooms and Cafe. Liked their hospitality and arrangement. Their chef made very delicious kheer. Though it was raining and cold outside...the ambience was warm..Cherry on the cake was the gig by their in house guitarist Ashutosh. My friends loved the food too! Thank u 😊 will come back again and recommend too!
