The stay was amazing. The hospitality was good, hosts were really nice and sweet. The house was very beautifully done and was very neat. The view from the balcony and terrace was breathtaking and you could see as far as Namchi (in Sikkim) on clear days. It is 5 mins walk from Mall Road. You would need help from professional drivers if you want to drive to this place or else you could seek help from the owners to understand the way to reach here and can simply take a porter for your luggage to walk down. Following google maps could be tricky here so do speak to localities to understand the way

Have been to Darjeeling this September with my cousins and stayed in Sarava homestay for 2 days & 3 nights.

Absolutely loved the way Vikram received us, His home was beautiful and the family was extremely friendly. Rooms, bathrooms and beds are clean and well maintained, food was simple but excellent.

Will highly recommend this place, provided you are ready to walk for 1.5 kms which i feel is worth.

If you are looking for a "scene" and rooms with the best views, this is the hotel/homestay for you.
Royal Sarava has everything in it right from a nice and humble owner, to clean and cozy rooms and a nice location. Located near to the main mall road and have access to every nearby spot like Mahakal market, temple, and bakeries like Kev and Glennary's.
The beds were comfortable, rooms had a good wifi speed of around ~25 MBPS and network connectivity was also fine. Good for a workcation.
Overall will give 10 on 10. Also has an open terrace where you can sit/relax/meditate and can have a view of Kunchenga directly from Royal Sarava's Terrace if the weather outside is not cloudy
