Just the road to the location is very bad and rough. But the service the people are just amazing they took us in and around the estate. We were a group of riders so there was this person Anurag who was a local at the place was really good at taking us to this amazing stream nearby. Mr. Rishab the manager was also very courteous and had come to receive us at a common point to guide us to the estate and served us in a very special way! Hats off! Really amazing property and the people! The food is to die for! Thank you fo4 hosting us!

A heritage bungalow from colonial era, located at Tumsong Tea Estate, very close to Darjeeling. I loved my stay at Tumsong. The bungalow will give you the amazing feeling of a heritage stay. The garden is lush green and gives a beautiful view of the hills. The rooms are huge with multiple luxurious amenities like fireplace, bathtub, etc. The food tastes amazing. The chef is well trained who can prepare a wide range of Indian and Chinese dishes. I also loved their organic tea, which was rejuvenating. The service is smooth and fast, with the staff being well trained. The hospitality was amazing. I would love to come back to this wonderful place in the lapse of nature.

Tumsong Tea Retreat is more than 150 years old beautiful, picturesque British colonial designed heritage bungalow, converted to resort without modification, located in Chamong Tea Estate, Ghoom, Jorebunglow Sukhiapokhri CD block in the Darjeeling, located very close to Darjeeling mall and Mirik. Approx 3 hrs from Bagdogra Airport.

It is one of the best offbeat property near Darjeeling to stay...Yes it is expensive to stay and not for everyone as there is no tourist spot or shop nearby. If u want tranquility, serenity, Peace of mind, pure leisure.. Then this is for you.
Among lush green tea gardens and greenery, this is the best escape in the lapse of nature.
The rooms are well lit, well furnished and spacious with room Heater and bath tub. Bed quality is excellent. Sleep quality is very nice. Peace and tranquil environment.

Manager Mr. Williams Gnosalves is very efficient, polite, soft spoken, friendly person and has positive attitude always. Manager like him is asset in this hospitality sector.

We had an amazing stay at Tumsong . Stuffs are also very helpful and attentive. The food and service are equally good and the hospitality is top notch. If you are looking forward to a luxurious stay amidst natural beauty, then you must visit this wonderful resort.

The Chamong Group is the largest producer of organic Darjeeling tea and Assam tea. It produces 3,000 tonnes annually and employs 10,000 persons (including 7,000 women). It owns 4 tea estates in Assam and 13 in Darjeeling.

We visited the Tumsong Tea Retreat from 28 May to 30 May along with family and friends. The booking can be done online or through telephone. Payment for booking can be paid online to their bank account. All balance payments are to be made in cash at the resort, so adequate cash should be carried. The nearest ATM is located nearly an hour’s drive from the resort. The network connection as well as internet is weak for calls so one must plan accordingly and enjoy the beautiful ambience and sights around the resort. The resort is located in the midst of a beautiful tea garden. The resort is next to the Chamong Tea factory adjacent to the Managers Bunglow.
The resort arranges pickup from NJP railway station or Bagdogra airport @approx 4500/- one way. We traveled by road from Kolkata in our car. It is however advisable to travel in SUV rather than Sedans as the road conditions are not suitable for Sedan. One should be proficient in Hill driving if planning to travel in self driven cars. One can avoid the monsoon season as roads are prone to landslides and blocks as also the cloud cover and rains will keep you confined to the rooms, though there are adequate indoor games, good collection of books and nice living room for sitting and enjoying some real quality family time.
The resort provides good meals and the staff is very helpful. The manager Mr William Gonsalves is very helpful and makes you feel at home. There are four rooms with two rooms on first floor providing view of the valley and Kunchenjunga if the weather is clear. Extra bed can be provided if required. It is advisable to know the rules of the property as it’s a functioning tea garden and guests need to respect the privacy of the Manger’s residence and stick to meal timings. This is not the normal run of mill commercial resort but rather a family getaway. The cost appears to be a bit more than what is normal for similar services in the area. A place ideal for unwinding and spending quality family time together. No pressure to tick off the bucket list!

Located in the quaint and serene area of Darjeeling, Tumsong Chiabari - The Tea Retreat offers guests a tea tasting session at the Estate’s own factory. This is located 17 km away from Ghoom Railway Station. The tea estate is surrounded by the gorgeous Himalayan mountains and you get magnificent view of the Kanchenjunga. There are four large suites that are simple and have quality antique furniture like the British colonial days. The bathrooms are large with bathtub and having separate shower area with running hot and cold water. Enjoy your holiday in this amazing property.

Luxury in the middle of tea gardens. This Bungalow, one of the tea retreats by the Chamong group, is a place for relaxation in colonial style. Located in the middle of tea gardens, isolated from everything, this old wooden Bungalow, nicely maintained, provides a unique opportunity for leisurely relaxation. The manager, Mr Nandi, takes great care the moment you book it. They contacted me within a day of booking, provided a vehicle for pick up at Bagdogra Airport and kept our lunch ready despite a late arrival. The team is sincere and always smiling. The kitchen provided tasty meals 3 times a day. Also the aromatic tea, from the local garden only, many times a day. As if we went back to the colonial times. We also enjoyed the tour of the garden and the tea Factory. Thanks Mr Nandi, you are doing a great job.

A beautiful quaint bungalow, serene surroundings, fragrant Darjeeling tea, mouthwatering dishes served 4 times a day, wonderful hospitality from Mr William Gonsalves, the manager-- in other words, perfect!

Amazing location..off road adventure

Oooooohhhhh.... What a place it is.... Colonial old wooden bunglow with four huge rooms with huge size washrooms and all time running hot water is just tip of the iceberg, from lawn to dining to drawing room with bookshelves, music system, testing original Darjeeling tea, visiting tea factory, walking through tea garden, visiting nearby villages, exxxxxccccceeeeelllleeennnttttt quality of food, from traditional daal vaat with fish paturi to mutton kosha to Chinese to continental to custard to momo to fries , you name it and you are gonna get it... And all kudos goes to Mr Rajat Nandi ( Rajatda) and his team like roshnidi, ramlaal bhaiya, vikash and everyone... They will make you feel homely immediately whenever you are gonna reach this place... Fireplace inside the rooms are very well maintained and if you feel chilly in the night, ramlaal vaiya is there to help you with the fireplace even at 10pm!!...so, I will strongly recommend this place to everyone... Rajatda has travelled with us almost entirely during our four days trip including chamong Chiabari... He is an amazing person and helped us in many ways ...so.... I'm gonna revisit Tumsong any day....
