I really had a very great experience but I recommend the people to have some time because I visited in off season and there was still so much rush.

Do not eat inside the temple area restaurants they don't offer good food or service.

You can visit the nearby ganga camps as there are many pathways in the way it's pure satisfaction to sit there.

Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, the supernatural abode of Lord Shiva, is situated at an altitude of about 5500 feet above sea level in Yamkeshwar block of Pauri district, at a distance of 26 km from Rishikesh. This temple is at the confluence of Madhumati and Pankaja rivers at the foothills of Manikut mountain. Although there is a constant flow of devotees throughout the year for darshan in Neelkanth temple, but in the month of Shravan, the maximum number of Shiva devotees reach here for Jalabhishek carrying Kanwar.

Temple is beautiful and Devine with lovely mountains around but alas it lacked public utilities no clean washrooms even for ladies and children. Wondering what bus full pilgrims do to relieve themselves. How unclean and unhygienic the surroundings must be.only bushes and jungle is there for you to cope with. I hope someone listening

*There is parking for car 500 meters away from the temple, from there you will have to go on foot,
*Bike or sccoty goes up to 100 meters away from the temple.

Shree Neelkanth Mahadev Mandir.

ॐ नमः शिवाय.

IMPORTANT

There are two ways to go neelkanth.
1- by walk = 7 kilometer's approx from Rishikesh, a strait and sharp turn

2- by car = 23-25 kilometers by road from Rishikesh ₹240 for both side.

1st route is full of jungle, animals (some times) and pahadi, that you would regret if you are not a shraddhalu.

2nd route easy, so easy only sitting in a car and enjoying the ride.

If you are preparing to move from 1st route, make sure of time and crowd are going, because kaal is always comes before mahakal, and that's what thrilling you will witness, a whole pahadi full of life, at a perticular distance people are selling tea, water (at that height it's impossible to carry any good, but they do to earn)
Monkeys are also there, so sometimes ignoring is also good, keep yourself safe and say har har mahadev.

Small dhabas are also there on top, when you reach top then you have to go down 😂, just crossing a pahadi will take your 2-4hours depends on your fitness.

Then shops will come where you can place your shoes and buy Prashad,
(Only ganga jal, belpatra are allowed to offer mahakal )

Then if you want you can move back to jungle and walk 7 kilometer's down or take car to Rishikesh.

Or enjoy you meals at dhabas, and buy few items at there.

That's it from my side, hop you would find this helpful.

हर हर महादेव ❤

It's a divine and holy place. We can feel the calmness and positive vibrations in and around the temple premises. Further, the footway to the temple from Rishikesh is awesome with natural beauty of River Ganga maa and Himalayas.

Worth trekking for a good 10-12KM. Can be reached by shared taxi as well. Mandir gets closed by 6:30-7pm right after the sandhya arti. Come to Janki bridge at Rishikesh. Ask any local about the Beatles ashram, where the Rajaji national park starts. Here you will get a shared taxi or you can reach there by trekking. Stay alert cause it's a tiger reserve. On your way don't be surprised if you see any animal which usually can't be spotted.

Visiting Shri Neelkanth Mahadev Mandir in Rishikesh was a truly transcendent experience. The divine aura surrounding the temple, nestled amidst the serene Himalayas, creates an atmosphere of profound spirituality. As I entered, the rhythmic chants and the scent of incense heightened the senses, fostering a deep connection with the sacred. The intricate carvings and vibrant colors of the temple reflected a rich cultural heritage.

The journey to the temple, with the sacred Ganges flowing nearby, added to the spiritual pilgrimage. Witnessing the traditional rituals and the fervent devotion of the pilgrims further enriched the spiritual tapestry. It is a sacred Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, situated near Rishikesh in the state of Uttarakhand, India. The temple is perched at an altitude of about 1,330 meters amidst the picturesque backdrop of the Garhwal Himalayas.

One can go by their car (self-drive) if you know how to drive on hills. If not one can book a cab (reserve) for Rs 1800-2000 else one can get a seat in shared jeep for Rs 250 (both to and fro).

The temple opens up at around 8-8:30 am so the earlier you reach their the better else there will be heavy rush of vehicles (and therefore parking issues at the temple place) and also crowd will become more.

On the hill top you'll have plenty of eating places and things to buy like Rudraksh (original fruit) where they will obtain from the fruit.

I would suggest if you have motion sickness then don't have breakfast before traveling, else as you move round and round on the hills you'll have vomiting sensation.

One must visit this place if you are on rishikesh trip. Avoid peek hours if you are travelling by car. They will insist you to buy prashad if you want to park the vehicle. No parking is there. Neither shoe stand is provided by temple staff.
