I recently had the pleasure of visiting Bannerghatta National Park, situated near Bangalore, Karnataka, and the experience was nothing short of exhilarating. This expansive national park, established in 1970 and later declared a national park in 1974, offers a perfect blend of wildlife, adventure, and natural beauty.

The highlight of my visit was the Jungle Safari, an immersive experience that allowed me to witness the diverse flora and fauna of the region. The park offers various safari options, including AC, Non AC, Private, and Shared vehicles, catering to different preferences. The guided safari took us deep into the heart of the park, where we had the opportunity to spot majestic animals in their natural habitats. The well-maintained vehicles and knowledgeable guides added to the overall enjoyment of the safari.

The zoological garden within the park, known as the Bannerghatta Biological Park, is a must-visit. The zoo houses a variety of animals, each with its own unique charm. From the regal big cats to the playful primates, the zoo provides a captivating glimpse into the world of wildlife. The enclosures are designed to prioritize the well-being of the animals, and it was heartening to see them in environments that mimic their natural habitats.

For nature enthusiasts, the Butterfly Park is a delightful addition to the park's attractions. The park is a haven for butterfly lovers, showcasing a stunning array of these colorful insects. The informative exhibits provided valuable insights into the life cycle and behavior of butterflies, making it an educational experience for visitors of all ages.

One aspect that stood out during my visit was the ample parking space available, making the logistics of the trip hassle-free. Additionally, the presence of shops around the park offered a convenient way to purchase refreshments and souvenirs, enhancing the overall visitor experience.

In conclusion, Bannerghatta National Park is a gem near Bangalore that caters to both wildlife enthusiasts and casual visitors looking for a day of adventure. The well-maintained facilities, diverse attractions, and the opportunity to connect with nature make it a must-visit destination. Whether you're on a family outing, a solo adventure, or a group excursion, Bannerghatta National Park promises an unforgettable day filled with exploration and wonder.

Visited multiple times,
Zoo experience: Nicely maintained, it's very neat and clean considering the footfall.
There are a lots of animals, birds, insects. It will be a lots of fun and educational trip specially for kids.

Safari: Worth trying once, if you are visiting in a group of 4-5 consider booking a jeep.

Zoo has good public amenities (water, washrooms), and there is a cafeteria outside.

Start early to avoid crowd and afternoon sun.

Note: It was digitalized long back and tickets could be booked online, but online booking facility was not working recently. Hope this get fixed soon.

Overall, good option for a day outing.

Right at the outskirts of the city, Bannerghatta Zoo is a great place to spend the day. There's a zoo and an adjoining national park where safari is operated daily. Great place to bring kids along.

Things to note:

1. Reaching the zoo: Uber / Ola available. There's a bus terminal right at the gate that can be availed to get a bus ride into the city

2. Tickets: You can easily get tickets on the spot on weekdays. On weekends, might be best to come in early since tickets may get sold out if there is crowding; Safari ticket is a combo ticket and includes entry to zoo and butterfly party

3. Which bus safari to take?: Both AC or Non AC options are good. The pros of taking an AC safari - unencumbered view as there are no iron bars on windows; Queue is smaller; Other than that no difference

4. Must see: Bus Safari, Zoo and Butterfly Park (which was much better than expected)

5. The ticket vending staff is not helpful and will not explain to you what options you have. They will hardly even speak to you especially if you don't know the local tongue. So please do your research before going. I'm hoping what I've mentioned above is good enough for new visitors.

6. Avoid Sundays in winters; If you want to come then do come early and you should be good

Best place to spend time with family. The Jungle Safari experience is very good.

Kid care place is there so no need to worry about the baby care.

Need to go as early as possible(9.30-10.30 am) otherwise there will be too much of a crowd. If you go early you can spend quality time.

I only visited the zoo and visited at 4 PM and could not visit Butterfly Park, it was nice and clean and there were adequate services like water and toilets. There are maps everywhere and you can easily figure out what to see next. Highly recommended for families on a nice Sunday.

I have been visiting the park since I was a child and it has never left me disappointed. It has improved so much over the years and the animals are also looked after very well. The park is very clean and they provide buggy and wheel chair services if required.

The Bannerghatta zoo is very good for family picnic. There is lots of paid parking near to entrance of safari and zoo. It is recommend to visit there during weekdays to avoid rush and the jungle safari and zoo carts are easily available within five to 10 minutes waiting. During holidays and Saturday and Sunday the waiting time would be longer from one hours to two hours. The safari non ac bus charges are very nominal Rs 350 for adults and there was no charges for children below five year However no seat is allotted to children below 5 year The children below 5 year has to sit on lap of parents or guardians accompany children. The zoo carts was only Rs 100 for adults and 50 for children For card they were accepting the cash only however for safari and zoo entrance ticket UPI PAYMENTS were accepted Within the zoo campus lots of food shop are there

The enclosure safari is amazing. Some of the best I have seen. I went on a random Friday in November end and I saw amazing close ups of Lions and Tigers doing their thing.

The bus was almost empty and the driver was really nice. I'd recommend doing this safari atleast once.

I absolutely enjoyed this place! Those who love being in nature and adore animals will sure love this place....it is a huge area to cover inside so choose a cloudy day or a winter day for your visit. You must do both the Safari and the zoo visit both of which are extremely enjoyable, especially if you are with your friends or family. You can choose the bus trip(AC or non-AC), or the jeep trip. The zoo is very close to the Banerghatta bus stop, and you can buy snacks from there. If you are visiting during winters, you will be lucky to spot a lot of animals during your safari as they will come out to soak in the Sun. Make sure you visit this place if you are in Bangalore😁😉.

>Toilets: clean free toilets inside. Don’t use pay and use toilets outside the zoo.
>Entry: buy tickets online if possible as at the counter they charged us 4.200 for the same 3,600 safari ride. Safari tickets include entrance fee as well to the zoo and the butterfly park.

Park is clean and INR 500 fine for littering inside. So use the bins provided. There are battery car rides available for those who can’t walk. Rs100 per person.

Hill view restaurant is good if you plan to eat inside the park.
