Smriya Homestay

For a solo traveller like me who loves to stay outside Darjeeling Mall, Smriya Homestay would be the best option. It will take around 15 to 20 minutes walking reaching to Mall Aria from their Homestay. 5 minutes distance from the Darjeeling bus stand. Room condition, Food, and Hospitality all are 10/ 10. I am really satisfied with their services. I will meet them again.

We booked the room for 4 days. The experience was very good. The hosts and family were very kind to us and made us feel comfortable. The food was also very good. We had Non-veg meals and it taste like a homemade food. The bedroom was quite spacious with a table, chair and a 1 seater sofa. Bathroom was Clean and tidy, We didnt face any issue in heater etc. They provide hairdryer and iron box but its chargeble as per the hours. They don't have a dedicated parking lot but they arranged a bike parking space when we requested for one.

Overall it was a great experience looking forward for another stay here.

Totally loved it. Smriya Homestay is in an accessible location and close to city centre. Room was clean, hygienic and apt for price. The host family was so caring, lovable and helped in arranging cabs for early morning transfer to tiger hill and guided me for local sight seeings. The homely food served was yummy and probably the one of the best foods I had in all my travel experience in North India. I Highly recommend it.

Ok, so this sweet little homestay might be a little far from Chowrasta/Mall road( 1.8kms is far for a small hill town, though it depends on your perspective), but it more than makes up for that with the views, the cleanliness of the room and washroom, the hospitality of the hosts and also the proximity and suitable conveyance to quite a few spots like The Zoo, Ropeway(just a 15rs share cab ride of 5 mins), Happy Valley Tea estate etc.
Shout out to the hosts for the amazing meals made with love and a special thanks to them for helping out massively when in a dire situation related to Money.
We are a married couple and stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed the hospitality with the host family, including Molu and Teddy(pet cat and dog)
Would recommend this homestay to one and all especially if you are into hotels, it's high time you ditch them and experience local love 😁

It is an excellent homestay in Darjeeling. It's a little bit far from the city centre. But the room is very nice and clean with attached bathroom. Food is also great. The location and the view from the homestay is also amazing.

Very hospitable family, with excellent home cooked food. Rooms are nice, cute and private, separated from the house.

My first trip to Darjeeling and Smriya Homestay was truly a home away from home. Reasonably priced delicious home cooked food. Easy accessibility from Mall road. Location is a bit uphill but that's how most part of DJ are. Extremely clean rooms with all amenities. Affordable Homestay. Since my stay was more of Workaction, the uninterrupted high speed free wifi was very much helpful. Thank you so much Sakil sir and your family.

This was the first time I've been to a homestay. This was my first visit to Darjeeling. I am very pleased with their warm hospitality. I booked for a single room because it was my solo trip. The room was very neat and clean.
Room rent was very affordable. The location of this homestay is very nice. Not in the over crowds of the Darjeeling Mall area, just a 10-12 minute walk away. The food they served for breakfast, dinner and lunch was really tasty and healthy. I would recommend everyone to go to this homestay.

Good quality food at reasonable price.
They are very gentle and generous in behaviour.
Rooms are also good at affordable price.
Location wise it is between Mohakal market and Darjeeling Zoo. Walking distance from both of them. Walking distance from Darjeeling Mall also.

Very good Home stay. I visited in end of Dec'19. Rooms r small in size but equipped with every necessary amenities.. Electric Kettle, Towel, Toilet Soap, Liquid Hand wash, Toilet Paper, adequate Blankets in chilling winter.
Very clean & airy & situated in a good quite location. 1 km from Mall & Chowrasta Market (walking distance) connecting 2 main roads but have to climb a little up or down to reach the home stay. Food is available here is purely homemade & reasonable & tasty as compared to Darjeeling Restaurants. They can also arrange for sightseeing car rental at much reasonable rates.

The experience of staying here is just awesome. The family is very helpful and they treat me very well. The rooms are very neat and clean, and their food is the best part. It's so yummy just like home. As a hilly area, they provide all the required service to the guests.

It was my first trip to Darjeeling and Smriya Homestay added to the wonderful experience. They are very simple and helpful people. Smriti didi and uncle always helped us with the directions. The food cooked was delicious 🤤. Especially the soyabean sabji and cauliflower was yum.

1. The location is a bit uphill.
As I was travelling there for the first time, the location seemed at a bit of height.
But then it's Darjeeling and completely a hilly area.

Loved my Staying there. The host Mr. Sakil Rai is very humble and cordial. He shared tips /suggestions to roam around Darjeeling. And the homecooked food he arranged for us, It was very hygienic, and delicious.
Although the place isn't in the centre, I took it as a blessing. It's a bit away from the crowd of mall/chowrasta. I enjoyed my strolls around. The place is neat and tidy.

Search with "homestay in Darjeeling" and Bang!! You are at the right option. Smriya homestay is just fabulous from all the angles which an ideal homestay should have. Situated at a 10min walking distance from Mall Market, far away from the chaos of the town, this homestay provides all the essential services. It has 24hour hot water running, iron facility, hair drying and free wifi. So you just hop in here and start your WFH (Work From Hill). Smriti di and Supriya di were so courteous and ready for anything you request.
They have breakfast, lunch and dinner available but the only thing is you have to tell them before 5:30pm so that they can make the arrangements and prepare your dish hot.
Considering everything, the experience of staying in Smriya Homestay was really good and thanks to Mr. Sakil Rai for arranging all these. We would love to visit again with friends/family.

The best choice I made in terms of stay in the recent time. Location is perfect as it is a bit, just a bit, away from the main centre. An early morning walk could gift you stunning view of the kanchenjunga peak (not talking about tiger hill sunrise observatory). Raj Bhavan, Mahakal temple, St Andrews church, Mall, Chaurasta, Padmaja Naidu Botanical garden etc are all within 2 km radius. The hosts are extremely humble and warm. Room is sufficient for anyone who is looking for a decent, value for money budget accommodation. I would even recommend this to young couples (not family) who wish to stay away from the noise. Water and electricity supply is there 24x7 and room service is just a call away as the owners stay very near by. The homely food is superb and affordable. I would highly recommend that. The view when you open the doors itself will make your day.

Beautiful little place away from the crowded roads. Though a little bit far away from the mall but it's totally worth it, specially because of the view you get when you open the door in the morning. Mr. Sakil and his daughter are great hosts, they take good care and attention to the basic requirements. Will surely visit again if we visit Darjeeling.

It’s really a memorable stay, warm hospitality. It’s just 10 minutes walking distance from Darjeeling(Singmari Taxi stand). View from window and balcony was awesome. Will come again..

Nice, clean and well appointed rooms. Attached toilet/bathroom is very clean with running water and geyser. Definately a good place to stay. Mall road is 20 minutes walk.

I really enjoyed staying at Smriya Homestay. I had taken a single room which was cozy and perfect for one person with a cot and a table and chair and attached bathroom. Everything was very clean, the hosts super friendly and helpful. There was complete privacy as well.

Location is close to main road as well as Bus stand n mall market 10-15 mints walking. Room was clean n equipped with all necessary amenities. Host is really helpful and decent person.
