Manohar C Watsa Stadium

The track area is about 5,300 sq.m. with provisions for long jump, triple jump and a pole vault platform. Two warm-up practice steps of size 20 x 2.4 x 1.8 m have also been constructed adjacent to the track. Facilities for other sports such as shot-put, football, and cricket have also been provided inside the inner bowl of the track.

Manohar C Watsa status has two entrances: one gate is close to girls hostel and the other is located close to faculty quarters. It has a beautiful grass cover surrounded by synthetic track. It is open during morning and evening. A few sports training is also conducted here. Kids play cricket, disc throw, football, and several other games here. Amazing fun time with loads of fresh air and occasional view of deers makes a great day! Care must be taken to not walk/jog/run with slippers on the track as it is prohibited but with shoes or bare feet.

I used to visit IIT whenever I've some free time. This Ground is very good for walking and running. You can see a deer 🦌 here. If you have a friend or relative who has IIT alumini card, you can easily visit and explore...!! Golden area

It's one of the best synthetic running track. It's the best for athletes comfort and convenience. It's regularly maintained and very secure with 24*7 guards. The use of slippers/casual footwear is prohibited. Only sports shoes are used on the track. The track has a beautiful lawn in between where people relax.

The best place where I've ever had a good triple jump practice.. Well educated coach, insightful co athletes, jovial helpers and will maintained synthetic track..

It is very pleasant to walk and to be inside the stadium. The breeze that flow through the skin gives relaxation and rejuvenating feels. The perfect time to go there from my perspective are early morning and evening although it's crowded. You can walk either with shoes or barefoot. Walking barefoot on the track also give good sensation and I would prefer walking on the grass with barefoot which is beneficial for our health. If you get time then visit there and make yourself up :)

A well managed stadium having all essential facilities for sportspersons. A 400 meters synthetic track for athletics and walkers is the best thing. The area inside the track has grass to play or relax. It has shaded steps also for ceremonial purposes. Separate washrooms for ladies and gents are also there. Additionally, it has flood lights also for using it after sunset. An ideal place to feel the open space in IIT Madras campus.
