The Elgin, Darjeeling - Heritage Resort & Spa (Since 1887)

Staff were very kind and helpful. Food was great with both western and local options and served in a lovely room. Location is within easy walking of interesting shops. It is an older well maintained building so it can be a little quirky.

We had an amazing stay at Elgin Darjeeling. The location was perfect providing easy access to the Mall Road and the joy ride train station. The hotel was neat and clean. The interiors looked fab as it is an heritage property and they have maintained it really well. The room itself was pretty, it looked like something straight of a cosy novel. The only downside was not being able to light up the fireplace due to smoke. However, overall it was a great experience and we would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Darjeeling.

It's a beautiful heritage property, just one step down the mall...breakfast menu is huge and scrumptious. I was with my 2yrs old baby, she also enjoyed a lot, they served delicious baby meals...courteous staffs, helped our stay to become memorable, by their services ❤
Only I found their main menu is a little small.

We had an excellent stay in Elgin, its a heritage hotel over 135 years and maintained very well keeping in mind the heritage, legacy and the antiques it holds.
The hotel is walkable from Mall road. Though the rooms don't give you the view of Majestic Kanchanjunga, but in the evening the lights glare up the Darjeeling city which too looks very good. The staff at the hotel are very disciplined and professional. The food tastes good, and provides a lot of vegetarian options and limited non veg options if one goes for a buffet.

Overall the experience was very nice.

Excellent colonial property . Rooms are spacious, well maintained, amenities are ok. Restaurant is small and cozy with superb array of Continental, Chinese and Indian cuisine.

Service is top notch, extremely friendly and hospitable.

The staff make this hotel so fantastic, with excellent waiters, bar staff and receptionists. Prashant on the bar in particular was fantastic; extremely personable, friendly and with great attention to detail. We had a room in the main building which could have done with a little modernisation, but was clean and well proportioned.

One of the best heritage property or brand I must say ...it's huge in Terms of the area ...they have partitions like reception with restaurant and other wings have rooms nice huge room with all the amenities

It is a heritage hotel situated in the heart of the city. Very beautiful architecture and maintained and kept very nicely. The staff is well mannered and polite. Had an amazing experience of 5 nights there . Also to mention the food is so good and portions they serve are huge. Would love to be here again on my next visit to Darjeeling.

Elgin Hotel in Darjeeling is a true gem, beautifully nestled amidst the hills. My recent stay was nothing short of spectacular. The rooms were top-notch, and the service? Probably the best in all of Darjeeling.

Our breakfast was delightful and started our day on a high note. But what made our stay extra special was the birthday celebration we had in the bar and lounge area. Jason at reception was our first point of contact and was instrumental in orchestrating the entire event. Sharon in reception ensured the evening progressed without a hitch, and Prishant, our server for the night, deserves a special mention. He was attentive, serving our cake, drinks, and food, and ensured our guests were well looked after throughout the evening.

It's essential to appreciate the hotel's character – it's a historic heritage building, complete with well-maintained gardens that add to its charm. Those expecting modern amenities like elevators might be in for a surprise. The creaky stairs are a testament to its age, and in a way, they add to its unique character. Despite this, the rooms are well-equipped for the weather, especially during the Monsoon season. They ensure each room is heated to prevent dampness, and the bathrooms are modern, with ample stock and a reliable water heater.

The only minor drawback is the street noise in the mornings, but that's beyond the hotel's control. All in all, Elgin Hotel offered an exceptional experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Darjeeling.

Loved this place. I have been here few months back. I was browsing through pictures today and found this lovely click. Too crowded outside but very calming heritage property. I surely recommend.

It's a heritage hotel. Situated in the heart of the city. Staffs are friendly. Though a bit on the expensive side...it's a very picturesque place. Mall road is at a walking distance. Food and the buffet breakfast is also wholesome.

We stayed in the heritage wing of the hotel. Wooden floors with beautiful carpets and elegant furniture- all give a majestic look. Bed was very comfortable and hot water bags were provided. So the night was very comfortable. Bathroom was very good with a bath tub. We had good complementary buffet breakfast. Very tasty food. We enjoyed our stay here.

This place has a lot of history. One of the oldest hotels in Darjeeling. The views from thr rooms are spectacular overlooking the town and hills. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Special mention to the owners of the hotel. The couple were lovely and very welcoming. It was a great pleasure to meet them.

Amazing location with great hospitality that's what this place is. Established during 1887 this place offers a classy stay with amazing hospitality by all its staff members. We stayed for a week along with two very naughty kids. But the staffs were very cooperative and made sure we have a comfortable stay. The bar section and seating area offers a very comfortable feel. Must try the green Elgin drink here for non alcoholic people .

Overall breakfast spread can be improved as they offer the same spread everyday. Some cakes and pastries can be added.

Do not miss the amazing guard dog CASPER! he will great you with all his amazing energy and love.

Everything was perfect. Starting from check in process to check out process.
Food was amazing and rooms were near and clean. I travelled with my mom and my lil girl and they really made us comfortable with their smile and nice gesture. You can go ahead with the stay in this hotel. Its worth the experience if your budget allow.
