this place is the topmost homestay in Rimbick(just above samten monastery), really quite and beautiful, visited during Losar festival, Mingma Ji and family were very hospitable and had a wonderful time with them. You can do various treks from here like sandakphu trail or Sepi forest trail to Srikhola etc.

Nestled in the heart of the forest, this homestay offers an unparalleled escape into nature's embrace, its the last house after which Singalila national park starts. The panoramic views are nothing short of enchanting, creating a serene backdrop for a truly rejuvenating getaway. What sets this place apart is not just its scenic beauty but the genuine warmth of the owner, whose hospitality transforms a stay into an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend for those seeking a tranquil retreat with a personal touch. We had amazing bonfire and barbecue with Mr. Migma and his friend who was a great singer and guitarist. If your are coming here don't miss a ride in jungle with some trek to a holy lake and black forest trek which is very popular among people visiting this place. I will make sure I will visit this place again. Hope to see you Mr. Migma very soon.

This homestay is a perfect choice for nature lovers to spend time in serenity. It is the last homestay situated quite a distance away from the main town of Rimbik, right at the edge of the Singalila forest. There is a quaint little monastery right next to the homestay. The hosts provide you with all the basic comforts and necessities at very affordable rates.

A budget friendly place to stay for roaming around in Rimbick. Everything was good. One can watch the nature sitting in the comfort of the rooms. The people are also extremely friendly and courteous. Overall had a nice experience staying there.

The experience was just breathtaking. Had an awesome stay and some luxurious time with nature. Mingma is an awesome person and he did care about us during the visit from planning the sandakphu treak, the transport facility was also looked after him along side the best homemade food cooked by his lovely mother.

Tucked away on a hill about 300m above the main Rimbick town, this amazing retreat is the perfect mountain getaway. You will be surrounded by a beautiful forest amidst excellent mountain views, which makes for a great quick hike if you're in the mood, and the perfect scenic backdrop to enjoy your morning tea/coffee. Mingma and his family are the most warm, gracious and thoughtful hosts one can find. The rooms are extremely comfortable and the meals are absolutely delicious. Accessibility is also not an issue as vehicles can come up all the way to the property through a jeep track, and cars are also available to take you down to the Rimbick bazaar area. Dog lovers will especially enjoy the company of Jimmy and Doggo, two very well behaved furry friends!

The Maitri Retreat is a peaceful homestay situated right at the top of the Rimbick hill. While it can get a little bit difficult to reach, it also serves as a nice getaway and an access point to the Singalila Forest right above.

Mingma and his family are some of the nicest people I've met. Always helpful and always smiling, they'll make you feel as though you never left home as they welcome you into theirs.

For anyone planning a visit to this part of the country, The Maitri Retreat is a sureshot recommendation.

Staying at The Maitri Retreat was wonderful. As a couple of female travellers we felt very safe and taken care of during our stay.
Also, The food and the hospitality is to die for.😋
It is a bit isolated but then that is exactly was we were wishing for when we planned the vacation. It's a great place to take a break and rejuvenate ourselves
Also internet is amazing for a place so isolated.
Definitely worth repeating again.

The rooms are so well designed and the view from our room was incredible. You can spend your all day simply by lying on bed and enjoying the view. Our host Mingma arranged everything for us whatever we had asked for. The food was so nice and delicious 😋. Mingma and his parents treated us like family. We even got eco-friendly pens designed by our host as a gift. We will definitely plan to visit this place again.

The homestay is in Manedara, about 2.5 kms away from the crowded rimbick bazaar. If you want to spend some quality time with you, your loved one and your family, this homestay is highly recommended. The Maitri Retreat is a home away from home. The homely behaviour of the owner family, the colourful flowers, natural beauty and the peace all around made our stay very very special. Thank you Maitri Retreat, we are coming back very soon..

Mingma and his family were welcoming and generous. It immediately felt like a family in the mountains. After all the travelling to this hidden gem, the warm healthy food brought us back to life! They have 2 very loyal 4 legged friends named Dobo and Max, who tailed us everywhere we went and were extremely playful and adorable. The rooms were clean, comfy and we personally loved those large windows. Special thanks and love to Aunty who helped me try out some traditional clothes that she kept for her daughters. It's a sweet memory that I shall always cherish. Hope to visit soon again!

Great place amidst the serenity of forests and mountains. Located on a hill top overseeing the rimbhick village. Difficult to reach but once you are here, trust me, you would like to extend your stay here at The Maitri Retreat. Very homely food, managed like a home and hence you will get all benefits of staying in warm cozy home. Mr. Mingma who manages the place is also well behaved and very helpful in guiding tourists to this place. Rooms are well maintained. All in all, worth spending your vacation in the Maitri Retreat.

This is my second visit to this homestay. The location is bit remote but once you reach there, it's like a heavenly abode. The only homestay in between the forest, away from the crowd, with amazing 360 degree view, homely food, impeccable hospitality by the owner and his pets, what else can you ask for? It's a must visit for trekkers, backpackers, travellers and anyone looking for peace and meditation and homely atmosphere. There are rooms and accomodation for everyone from private cottages to wooden rooms to tents, you get it all at a single place. There's also designated place for bonfire and the entire land is filled with greenery. The owner being an artist himself has great taste in everything and arranges for everything you ask for, even in such remote location. Overall a lovely experience and I plan to visit the place atleast once a year.

Just returned today and the stay was excellent. Yes the road was tough, but the tiredness of the travel will disappear in a matter of seconds once we reach Maitri Retreat. The food was the best that was possible, more of we felt like an extended family. The bonfire amidst the galaxy of star stole the show. A weekend away from the hustle of a office life, Maitri retreat is definitely the place.

Maitri retreat is such a great homestay, felt like we were in the nature's lap. And the behaviour and gesture was so good, we celebrated losar along with the family, and it felt like i was celebrating with my own family, i am just overwhelmed. Would like to visit there again. People must go for this homestay without any second thought.

A true definition of a homestay. The family is amazing as well the Hospitality. The place is clean and is very well crafted. Perfect place to connect with the nature. Max, jimmy and doggo will add that extra excitement to dwell in the mountains. Have visited this place thrice and everytime it offers me something different.
If you're looking solitude, this is the most serene place to stay
