Riverside Dwelling Tabakoshi offbeat Homestay in Darjeeling

Such a wonderful place. The rongbong river, tea garden the mountain valley...we fall in love. Beautiful cottage and good food. The owner and the stuff are very humble. Bruno and Puchpuch melt our heart. Want to go there again.

Very peaceful, very close to getting connected to nature.

Has easy acess to the stream, with lots of space for bonfire and barbecue.

Had a good time with my friends.

Over the last few years me with my family have been going for short tours and availing home stays. I must say that Tabakoshi river side home stay is a class of its own and sets a benchmark. What makes it stand apart from all others - it's located right into the lap of the nature with birds chirping and continuous sound of the stream(with a small waterfall to enjoy). Wonderful behaviour and never say "NO" to guest attitude and above all the smilling face of the multi talented Sanjyog bhai. I would highly recommend all nature and peace lovers to visit this place and experience the warmth and hospitality of this place and people. Thank you Sanjyog bhai once again..God Bless you 🙏

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Riverside Dwelling , and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their behavior was impeccable, and they were always eager to help with any request.

The scenic beauty of this homestay is truly mesmerizing. The serene river flowing beside the property, the lush green forests surrounding it, and the breathtaking views of the mountains in the distance made for a truly unforgettable experience. I found myself spending hours just taking in the beauty of the surroundings.

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities. The food was delicious and authentic.

All in all, I would highly recommend the Riverside Dwelling to any travel lover looking for an offbeat experience in North Bengal. It's a must-visit for those who appreciate scenic beauty, excellent service, and a warm and hospitable staff. I cannot wait to visit again!

Mr. Sanjo and team are doing a tough job of maintaining the property and providing services in a very remote location. We booked via Nomadic Weekends and thank them for it too.
Loved our stay and the help provided by the staff. Keep in mind you're traveling to a very remote location and food and services expectations should be considered while rating them. We had a good experience in this homestay, you will feel nature very closely, we are happy with service, food and room condition. There is a small stream beside our room, we enjoyed the songs of water and birds, lots of followers are there to welcome you, at night rain started which creates a thrilling atmosphere, we also phase power cut during that time, only one light inside the room still on during the power cut, but it's ok, they also provide mosquito coil to protect the insects, overall it was good experience, check photos to get more details.

A place where nature can be felt and experienced at it’s best. Very cleanly maintained and artistically designed, the place offers a warmth that makes you feel serene and at home. The river side bed that can be walked over from the property provides beautiful views and is a perfect place to sit down and relax. The hospitality is unbeatable and makes you want to revisit the place. The food served is very delicious and the services are very prompt. The entire staff is very cooperative and one cannot ask for more. The village is very sparsely populated and one can escape the heavy crowds that are seen at regular tourist places. Shiva temple, Vishnu temple, Bridge and the park of the village are at a walkable distance from this property and can be enjoyed leisurely. Our decision to stay at this place was a very last minute decision and we are very glad that we made that decision. The entire family loved the place, food and the experience.

Perfect place to stay if you have small to medium sized group(2-8), couple & bachelor also. You have full privacy with all requirements take care of. Rooms are spacious and clean. Home cooked food is yummy. There is a bonfire to sit by in winter nights. Location is very beautiful, close to nature and you can enjoy river view also. There are walking trails where you can go for a stroll in the morning.

A beautiful little homestay. Away from the crowds, tucked amongst greenery you will be greeted with the gushing sound of a little waterfall literally inside the property. The cottages are amazing. The river(stream) rangabhan/ tabakoshi ( comes from local word ?tamakosh due to copper colour of water of the river) is at a stones throw distance. The owner Sanjog Chamling is a very sweet person and the hospitality offered by them is superb. Had a wonderful stay here. Highly recommended for those who like peaceful stays with splendid ambience and great hospitality.

We have stayed there for 1 night on 18 th may, 2022. We booked their Riverside 2 bedded cottage room. The main attraction is the continuous sweet sound of the river flowing just beneath of the balcony. It's just awesome.
Rooms are neat and clean, bathroom is clean with all amenities including geyser.
Their food quality is finger licking, especially chicken. Behaviour of all of them made us fall in love the place. Our only regret why couldn't we stayed there for one more day!!
One can easily spend 2-3 nights by only sitting in the bank of river. Mesmerizing beauty of the whole village as well. I recommend all to go for this property if you want to stay within the nature, not beside the nature.

Visited on June 2022 with friends. Wonderful place. Pleasant. Serene. Situated near the Rangbhang Khola. Tea garden is 2 minute walk. Owner dada is very good person, responded whenever we needed anything.

Nice experience of staying here. Positives 1. Beautifully located log hut besides a mountain stream. Listening to sound of water is mentally refreshing. Lots of birds in natural environment 2. Good tasty food (arranged food of choice with extra payment) 3. Service is satisfactory 4. Room and bathroom decorated and clean ... Negatives 1. Could not find any except some limitations with bed quality and food quantity/options.

This was an awesome stay and Sanjog owning and managing the unit is extremely courteous , helpful and would do his utmost to make your stay a memorable one !
Probably, the best property if you are into bird watching & I clicked a whole lot of Himalayan species right from the home stay area and the brooks nearby .

Excellent serene place where nature in the true sense could be felt. Highly recommend the place for it is perhaps the best homestay in Tabakoshi situated near the river surrounded by the forests and tea garden

It was a picturesque and calm place to rejuvinate soul.The owner and his family provided super hospitality and the food was excellent. They made arrangements for campfire, barbecue, snacks and meals as required. Their special efforts to make suitable foods for kids of 6 years deserve special mention. We stayed there for 2 nights in stone cottage.

Probably the best homestay in Tabakoshi with a private access to the river stream. It was a rejuvenating and healing experience all together. Sanjog is a fantastic host and owner of the property who ensured that all our concerns are addressed related to stay and sightseeing. Planning to come here again soon.

I visited the Riverside Dwelling on 10th Sept'21. Their hospitality is amazing. Their culinary skill is delicious. There is no geyser in the washroom but they will help you providing hot water in a bucket if you need it. They are planning to set up a geyser and wifi very soon. Over all I enjoyed my stay very much in the farm house.
