Attukal Bhagavati temple is very much famous all over the world. Famous for Pongala . Ladies all over Kerala and Tamil Nadu, also nearby states do attend the temple on Pongala with the necessary articles visit and cook Pongala naivedya to Goddess, with their respective prayers to the Goddess. Lakhs of people, in groups, mainly ladies , celebrities, attend the function. A very famous temple.

Visited the temple at 5.30am. Was happy to see live bhajans with musical instruments and the singing team at the entrance. Had very good darshan, more devotees in the early hours, it was calmz no rushing and pandits do explain abt the temple if enquired..

This temple is one among popular and powerful in Kerala located in heart of trivandrum town ♥ It's a big temple with huge space for parking and vibe is a different feel. Highly recommended if you are visiting trivandrum. ♥🙏

It’s a very renowned Bhagavati temple in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Here Godess Parvathi (Kali maa) is the presiding deity. She is worshipped as the goddess of the crops here. This temple is considered as the Sabarimala of women.

Attukal Pongala Mahotsavam ( which is quite famous here ) is a 10 days festival which falls on February - March every year (Malayalam month of Kumbham). The festival begins on the Karthika star

It begins with the traditional Kappukettu with the idol of Devi being embellished with Kappu (Bangles) and Kudiyiruthu ceremony in which the diety is invited to the thatched shed.

Thottam pattu (Thottampattu) is vet another important ritual held in Attukal Bhagavathy temple in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The festival begins with the kudiyiruthu of bhagavathy to a temporary shed made f thatched coconut leaves in the temple premises. The ritual of Thottampattu begins after the diety is invited to the thatched shed.

The Thottampattu, devotional song which tells the story of Kannaki in Tamil text Chilappatikaram. The ritual song continues for ten days, and the story told on each day is also related to the rituals in the temple.

This temple is about 3km from sree Padmanabhaswamy temple. Goddess Bhadrakali, mounted over 'vethala', is the main deity in this temple. The temple is The temple is renowned for the annual Attukal Pongal festival, in which over three million women participate.
There is no specific dress code for this temple, however it is suggested to wear traditional dresses. I visited on weekend and it took 15 to 20 mins for darshan.

Very nice temple, known as ladies Sabarimala. Here Pongala is very famous, lots of people come from different places in country and foreign devotees. Very neat and well maintained temple.

I can’t review a temple,but this very beautiful temple is a bit underrated…. U must visit this temple if u r in Trivandrum for first time.
This temple also hold a Guinness World Records.

Attukal Bhagavathy Temple is a beautiful place to visit, when i visited it was crowded with people as it was Friday and also 26th January. Crowd management is weak, it is not organised and when I was heading out people were rushing in from the way out also.
No qualms about the devotional place though, it is a must visit place and holds a Guinness world record also for most number of women gathering and cooking Pongal. I was happy to get the darshana of goddess

This temple was very crowded when I visited, but the atmosphere was blissful. There were temple staff who supplied free water for those who needed it. Also the queue management was excellent.

Devis Vibes are too strong and brings goosebumps. I literally felt thay mother goddess has called me to visit the place just 2 days before attukal pongal. It's a proof since I am from west and no localite told me to visit. Attukal Amma is an incarnation of Mahakali devi or Bhadrakali, the devi is believed to be born from Lord Shivas Third Eye to destroy and kill Rakshas name Daruka. The Attukal Pongal festival is recorded in Guiness books of world record for over 5 million just women devotees mainly from South India celebrate and worship on the day of Attukal Pongal. Pure bliss✨✨✨The atmosphere is so enchanting and you'll feel blessed when you visit the temple. It primarily is the shrine of Goddess Bhadrakali, known as Attukal Amma. Along with that a shrine for Mahadeva, Ganapathi, Nagas, are also there. This temple holds Guinness world record for the Pongala where 2.5 million women participated. The ambience of the temple is ethereal. It is crowded almost on all days round the year.
